Damn I thought you were about to offer me one. So much for getting all excited. -
QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Meanwhile, for those who are real high on Vazquez and Garland, remember that they shut down the Royals. I know they pitched well, but I want to see more. Exactly on Vaz, he has shut down the Royals twice and the other start there was an excuse (from Ozzie) that he was tipping pitches. I have him pegged as our No. 3 guy, but I still would like to see a couple of more starts against real competition (i.e. not the Royals). So far against one legit team he got shelled.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) Like no one knows where you stand on Buerhle and on Frank Thomas? Hey, if Jason ever gets around to posting it, you could be surprised on what I have to say concerning Frank.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) I'll give you one name Nate Silver missed--and he's chilling in my avatar right now. Sure deserves a citation over any prospect. Since no relievers were mentioned, and Liriano currently fits that description, they've avoided his inclusion alltogether. And conveiniently, as a Tigers fan, he included Justin Verlander. What a fraud Silver is.

I already emailed this jackass earlier today. Predictably, he won't respond. I urge you all to do the same from the following link, but do it respectably: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/contact.php Change the drop down box labeled recipient to Nate Silver. Since he's a Tigers fan, I told him to enjoy Verlander and their 4th place finish. We already knocked Verlander around.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) Katie Holmes is nasty now. I miss her Dawson's Creek days. She was quite good in "The Gift." If you haven't seen it, I advise checking it out.

If he keeps it up, I'd say Papelboner has as good as chance as anyone, especially with all of the writers slurping up the Red Sawx.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) Hate to admit it, but I agree that Oz will play the family card. Especially if they make the post season again. Which is why I believe Vazquez will be the odd man out.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) I don't disagree with you, but I think it's definitely something that KW has to consider. I'd be disappointed for sure, but would at least understand if he let Buehrle walk after the '07 season. That said, if I were KW, I'd trade Garcia this winter and try to get a five-year deal done with Mark. Given Ozzie's relationship with Freddy, it's going to be a hard sell for KW to trade Garcia.

How does one go about saving this?

I've got an article on this coming out today that should give a good idea on where I stand on all of this.

Link? This has been speculated for a while, but never confirmed. That's why I am asking for linkage.

I believe a kid named Jason Gage called a Cy Young this year for Jose Contreras this spring. Wait, do I have that name right?

I don't really care about their hair, but I don't think anyone should tell them to get a haircut. But if JR, whom I don't care much for anyway, wants to make it a big deal, then I guess they get their haircut. As long as he doesn't become as much of a pompass asshole like Steinbrenner, he can make himself feel important with nitpicking moves like this, I suppose.

I think had the Sox had a choice of whether or not to include BA or Rowand, BA would have definitely been gone. Rock, whether or not BA projects to be better than Rowand is irrelevant right now. He could project to be the next big thing and not do s***. How many hyped up prospects have turned into busts? Plenty. Most of the White Sox first rounders over the past decade have done nothing. And they all were probably hyped as being good prospects. Hell since 1992, Bobby Seay and Kip Wells are the only Sox first rounders who are even in the big leagues. I guess you can count Borchard in his backup role. Look at this list: 1992 Eddie Pearson 1993 Scott Christman 1994 Mark Johnson 1995 Jeff Liefer 1996 *Bobby Seay 1997 Jason Dellaero 1998 Kip Wells 1999 Jason Stumm 2000 Joe Borchard 2001 Kris Honel 2002 Royce Ring 2003 Brian Anderson 2004 Josh Fields 2005 Lance Broadway I think most any team would take Rowand over Anderson simply because he is a proven player at the big league level. Anderson may have more talent, but that doesn't mean he'll be better than Rowand. I think to a point that BA was somewhat rushed through the system. Even though he was a college guy, I think he would have done better with another year at AAA. Right now he is striking out way too much and his approach is awful. I don't really remember many instances where he wasn't down at least a strike in the count and most instances two strikes. I think he'll be fine, but if in a month he is still playing the same type of baseball, there will be cause for concern.

Looks like you had fun there my fellow Serb. Thanks for sharing.

I'm giving him a shot, but come mid-May if he is still scuffling like this, it may be time to give someone else a shot. Sorry BA. He hasn't really impressed me in CF to this point either. Misplayed a few balls from what I've seen and the only game I haven't watched was on Friday night.
-
Iguchi's play may be one of the top 3 I've ever seen. Wow what a hop that ball took and to get the throw off was amazing. We'll be seeing replays of that one all year long. To Gooch, Mark, PK and Jenks...

I remember going to watch Orton back in 1999 and 2000 when he was in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Wow was he horrible. Crazy to see how far some of these guys have come. Same can be said for Batista, who I saw in OVW as Leviathan and for John Cena who wrestled as the Prototype.

What is with all of these teachers trying to bang their students? I never remember anything of the sort when I was in school.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Why they keep Loshe in the rotation is beyond me. I frequently ponder the same question myself.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) I'm not going to complain about his work ethic when he's on one of the worst rosters in the history of baseball. I'm sure that being on a great team and with Ozzie as his manager would solve a lot of issues. Going from Pro Player to the Cell would make him even more dangerous. And yes, I know it's not likely going to happen. I just don't think you can count us out thanks to the Ozzie factor. True, you won't get me on board for acquiring him if it means Buehrle leaves via FA. I think he's a great player, but I think its a pipedream for us to get him.
