2012-2013 NCAA Basketball thread

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 01:21 AM) Actually it is different because the NLI had been signed. A last minute de-commit happens before signing day. This kid has already signed. That said I don't think it is automatically a terrible thing. See my previous post. I didn't read into the details. So yes, in this case it isn't exactly the same thing, I was more talking in general since it seems kids decommit quite regularly nowadays -
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 11:25 PM) We don't know that and it's probably dead wrong. Exactly

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) My question would be how different is it than a player de-committing from a school at the last minute? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-p...-185529935.html It's not -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Today is a must win, assuming that Masterson pitches tomorrow. It's April 10th and we have our first must win of the year

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) I really need to read these books, the plot is just awesome. From the book (not really a spolier either): And yes, read the books. I'm 100 pages into the 3rd book and I can't put them down

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) Game of thrones basically ignored one who story line and it was still awesome. I havent seen any of the season 2 episodes yet, what one?

Clash of Kings is done and on to Storm of Swords. People purely watching the show are going to be in for some real surprises this season if it follows the book as closely as season 1 did

QUOTE (balfanman @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 09:21 AM) Thank you for the preview, I casually follow the minors and am a far cry from an expert on the subject. Question for whoever: Is Miguel Gonzales still considered a decent catcting prospect? Now that Flowers is a major leaguer is he the best catching prospect the Sox have? or is it that (can't remeber his name, I think it was maybe Smith) guy that was drafted a year or so ago? Gonzalez is considered an exceptional defensive catcher already but his hitting has much to develop. He was more highly thought of a few years back and his production has not lived up to expectations or desires but he's still young enough that he should be kept an eye on

One vote for Ozzie...looks like our Kansas contingent has voted

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 03:12 PM) I'm sure New York itself is great, but the people are crap, thus the city is crap. And you could apply that line of logic you just used to every city/location on the planet. There are small towns you could live in your entire life and still not experience all the town of 6 has to offer. I hate when people use this line. Not really.
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) NY sucks dick. Full of assholes. I mean FULL of assholes. Everyone is ignorant a rude as hell. I'd take any other big city over that s***pile. Edit: Opened my tackle box and trying out a new lure. Yup. That's what the entire city is like. New York is the greatest city on earth. You could live your entire life there and not experience all it has to offer

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) I'm fairly afraid it will never be finished. The last two took 5 years to get written and GRRM isn't necessarily in the best of shape. Apparently 200 pages of the 6th book are complete at the moment. And GRRM has stated he does not expect the series to overtake the books

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) DVR alert... Buehrle starts Thursday opening day in Cincinnati. 3pm on ESPN2. Not giving it to Johnson...interesting

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 04:54 PM) I have never enjoyed a show quite like Game of Thrones before; it's so original. What I mean by this is that every scene has so much f***ing weight to it. I have no idea how even HBO can have a budget to produce episode after episode of such a fantastic tv show, even if it's not tv and it's HBO. Watching the first episode of the new season threw me right back into this story. I wish I could just always be watching Game of Thrones. Start reading the books. Even more information to it. I'm half way through the second book and it's great

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) Same. I hate reading fiction and I got through Game of Thrones' 800+ pages very quickly. Great characters, great stories. Couldn't really wait for season 2 to start and am already a third of the way through the second book. Very interested in Daenarys's story line in the second book but she's only appeared briefly so far

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 28, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Or like hockey having a shoot out.... I was just kidding about the field goals, but I do think they should just have like a 7:00 quarter and if its still tied after that go to a sudden death. I like that idea as well
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) I really like Grimm. Anyone else? Yeah I like it but i'm 4 or 5 episodes behind. Being on a friday is tough for me to ever see live. It's a good show though, hopefully it's around for more seasons

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 28, 2012 -> 12:38 AM) I'm sure there's thousands of examples in baseball history of teams cutting veterans over one week before the regular season begins. If anything, they've given him a LOT more time to find another home than organizations that wait until the last 2-3 days before the season begins to make their final roster cuts. If he's deserving of a job on a major league roster, he'll get one. Otherwise he'll be on standby in AAA somewhere. No. Only this team. Because everything they do is wrong.
