My dog loves cucumbers. He's learned the word and it's great because he views it as a treat and they are healthy for him as well

QUOTE (soxmaniac! @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) CucHumber is gonna come up big tomorrow. I'm saying 7 innings 2 runs. I love it

Hawkins pick looks really promising. Barnum appears to have been a reach, but as others have said, I don't mind that in the comp round. And the kid does have a very high ceiling as well. Complete change in draft philosophy than several years ago. I'm happy with the day 1 picks

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Great point. I wish people would leave Ozzie out of Soxtalk. He Gone! Who cares? The people of Lawrence, Kansas, USA

What are the thoughts on Giolito? I know he suffered an injury, but if he were there isn't the kind of talent that is worth risking acquiring?

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 10:02 AM) Why is Trayce Thompson considered such a great prospect and Mike Earley is not? Earley's numbers are tremendous. Age and natural athletic abilities/tools

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) Syracuse has already announced they won't play their game @ Arkansas. Why? -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) This isn't the thread for it, for you've got to stop listening to meathead fans who just like to talk crap about anyone who stands behind center for the Cowboys, especially when his name rhymes with "homo". Tony could win 3 straight superbowls, and people would still pretend he isn't good. The only people who support him are the one's who receive pretty decent fantasy value out of him.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) What Callis really hammered was JR-Kenny conundrum in their difference in philosophy. He said that Kenny Williams likes high impact, boom or bust type, toolsy players. But he said that Reinsdorf is not willing to spend money in the draft. The problem is that those type players are not cheap and in turn you end up with Keenyn Walker and Soptic type players. So KW should have some blamed removed from him for some of the past drafts?

So now that i'm done with the Song of Ice and Fire books, not really sure what to start reading next. Suggestions?

So i just finished A Dance With Dragons. Wow. Talk about cliffhangers Some thoughts (obviously some heavy spoliers) Waiting for this next book is going to suck

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 31, 2012 -> 11:45 AM) Eh, it doesn't take balls when that's all you do. This. Especially when said person incessantly points out the ones they got "right"

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ May 31, 2012 -> 09:39 AM) They say Morel's struggles were due to his back problem. It's a pretty convenient excuse and I'm not sure I believe it, but it's plausible. The only reason people are slobbering all over O-Dog is because we're winning. He's played competent defense, but his bat has been close to Morel's. Taking those two things into account, I'd like to see if Morel's failures were, in fact, due to injury and relegate O-Dog to a bench role while sending Escobar down. If Morel continues to fail, give the job to Hudson or find another solution. Hudson has certainly not "won" the job, he's just proven that he can successfully take his crappy bat to a new position on the field. .185 .313 .296 .609 (5/5 SO/BB) 177 .225 .195 .420 (39/7 SO/BB) It's not good, but he's clearly been better

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:51 PM) No Ramsay Snow? Since he's not in Winterfell, I guess it doesn't matter anyway. He doesn't do much for the next couple seasons. I feel there is no way that character is getting cut, especially since he has already been mentioned in the show. They probably just don't want to cast the role until his screen time becomes necessary

All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues

Fabian Johnson was a major bright spot, he looked really good. Gomez looked dangerous up top as well. I really like when we play with 2 forwards. Hopefully JK tries that with him and Jozy next week. Disappointing to lose with a score line like that, but there really were quite a few positives in the that game, especially at the offensive end where we actually looked dangerous on several occasions. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2012 -> 09:10 AM) If his back is healthy, he is going to be playing much better on offense and defense. Maybe. But that doesnt change the fact that his performance this year has been abysmal at best. And because of that, despite O-Dog looking like a NL #8 hitter, that still makes his performance with us look that much better and that is largely why he has been getting as much as praise as he has been
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 30, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) The O Dog is the most beloved .185 hitting, 2 errors in a week at 3B player in Soxtalk history. His defensive gem the other day probably saved that game. And he also has a .321 OBP and .654 OPS (and his average is .208 with us by the way) and has looked competent in the box and on the bases Not world beating, but with Morel throwing up a .177/.225/.195/.420 line, the boost from O-Dog all of a sudden becomes significant

Hasnt there been talk of Sale being on an innings limit this season? If so, it would make sense to have Quintana down in AA/AAA until the time comes when they need someone to step in for him
-
Well that's not the best start

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) I wonder how many bunt singles Beckham has had in his career. That was his 4th http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=2B

It'd be great if Dunn would put a charge into one. At least getting the runners over.
