  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) So if he gets released by Boston, do the Sox pick him back up to replace Hudson? I think he's out of options right? I'd definitely make that move if I were the KW
  2. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales Sox sign Luis Castillo for $450K, according to Brian Mejia of Dominican Prospect League. Described as dead pull hitter, runs well for size http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospe...llo-for-450000/ For a second I thought this guy was attempting to make a comeback Good to see them spending money internationally however
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) Viciedo makes too many outs against RH'ers. If he continues to do so, Pierre's .385 obp is an excellent way to upgrade a weakness cheaply. I love the irony in you using something like that and assuming he's going to maintain that playing every day the rest of the year. Not to mention that you are advocating sitting Viciedo in favor of Pierre, period. That alone is LOL-worthy
  4. I think a good selection for the AFL could be Rienzo, Salvador Sanchez, Saladino, Bellamy, Carlos Sanchez
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 04:50 AM) Micah Johnson's another name to watch. Exciting player...hopefully ends up better than Shelby, Jr., Harris or Richar Why are you comparing him to any of those three?
  6. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) If its Reed and a low level prospect for Street and Volquez, just might make that trade. We get experience in the closer spot and a quality starter. I dont think the Sox want to or are even able to take on both those salaries
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) According to them, he wasn't average last year...he had one bad start. I think Danks was completely average last year...and downright terrible this year. And now while it's convenient to blame the injury...he still went out there and sucked all season until we put him on the DL. I think he's been pretty average his whole career so far. Everyone, myself included, has always said they're waiting for him to bust out, but the longer he treads along the solid #2/3 starter territory, the more likely it becomes that that is all he will ever be
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) Q is not going to be a better pitcher than a healthy John Danks. People must have made similar statements about Buehrle the first couple years he was up too. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but he's looked awfully good since being called up. He always put up pretty good numbers in the minors as well so I don't think we can make such absolute statements like that yet.
  9. I can't see the Sox trading any of the young guys making an impact on this team (Quintana, Viciedo, Reed, Jones) except maybe Santiago, but I don't think he really carries much value.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) Oh boy. Sox are gonna have to give up a lot to get this duo. So who do Sox say goodbye to, forever. I'd say Jordan Danks, Mitchell, Flowers and Q will probably be the ransom. They're not going to trade someone from the starting rotation to acquire someone for the starting rotation for the purposes of attempting to shore up the starting rotation
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) I didn't see the particular outing, but caulfield has mentioned it multiple times. I've liked what I have seen of him so far. Caulfield just likes mentioning as many names as possible. Septimo has been fine from what I've seen as well. Kind of reminds me of Felix Heredia (which isn't the most glowing of comps, just physically)
  12. Rafacosta is from Brazil but i dont think he posts anymore And someone's sig says they're from Gibraltar. Whether or not that is true who knows
  13. I don't normally look at the DSL boxes but I did last night Don't know anything about anyone down there but I looked at one of the relievers who pitched, Yensi Magallanes, and he's put up fantastic numbers. Has a 0.00 ERA through 25.1 IP and has only allowed 12 hits (.150 OPP BA) and 9 walks to 22 strikeouts. He's 19 and a lefty. I'd think there'd be a good chance we'll see him at one of our rookie affiliates or potentially even Kanny next year, no?
  14. He moved back into his parents basement
  15. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) My laptop recently shuffled off this mortal coil, so for Sox games I'm limited to whatever is shown on ESPN which unfortunately seems to be fairly infrequent. My Sony station has internet radio, though. I was wondering are there any Chicago radio channels that do regular coverage of our games that I might be able to listen to from over here? MLB Radio MLB TV Links to the radio and television subscriptions. They give you access to any game you want
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:03 AM) Is that Tyler Williams, as in one of Kenny's kids? Yeah. Started last year in the DBacks organization before coming to Bristol.
  17. The thing I hate the most about the all star break, is that there is basically no baseball for 4 days
  18. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Alright, I've got to go on a Song of Ice and Fire rant. Just finished up the first 5. The first 3 were awesome, FFC and DoD pissed me off.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) But AJ and Rios are flat out ridiculous snubs. I'm guessing you meant Peavy
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Christopher Nolan is writing and producing a Batman "reboot". Thought the post was rather clear. I noticed it on his imdb page and then utilized Google. Well on the surface that seems ridiculous
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 10:17 AM) I hadn't heard the Christopher Nolan plans to write and produce a reboot of Batman following this one. What?
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 04:09 PM) Let him finish it - he deserves a shot at his first carrer CG He's at 115 pitches or so and it's almost 100 degrees out. No way
  23. Great performance out of Quintana. Just continues to pitch spectacularly every game
  24. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) They're speculating that there's more to it than meets the eye, non-baseball reasons. Like what?
