  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) You have people calling each other morons and idiots. Something needs to be said. Right, and he did, like 3 minutes prior. Just saying to chill a bit. It's not that bad in here. And there have been multiple admins here the entire time in case anything got out of hand. Not a big deal. Sorry
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) For those who CAN'T READ... Political discussion ends now. Deletions and suspensions will follow if further posts are made of that variety. I think you need to relax a bit. Posts occur while typing and often get overlooked. You yourself have been late to the party for the majority of this thread
  3. Buster Olney's last tweet insinuates he thinks the pickoff beaning may have been intentional too
  4. Well the good news is we've had 6 base runners in 2 innings. The bad news is we only have 1 run to show from it
  5. Season 3 casting has been revealed with these additions: http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/05/29/game-of-...-season-3-cast/ Possible spoliers
  6. I love how Robin is riding the hot lineup and not tinkering for the sake of it. Seems the only switch in the past week was giving AJ a day off
  7. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 28, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) So anyone watching some of the friendlies? The US just dismantled Scotland the other night. Nice debut for Landon under Jurgen. Torres looked really good and looks like Fabian Johnson is going to secure a spot on the back line. I know Scotland isnt some world beater but it was refreshing to see our team play with some creativity. Brazil and at Canada this week before WCQ begins on the 8th. Scotland is not one of the elite teams of Europe, but they would still be a legitimate threat in the CONCACAF. The fact that the US didn't just beat them, but thoroughly dismantled them is a great sign. They played really well all around. And Jozy and Dempsey did not even play. We still need another player in the back four to replace Chandler. Would have loved to see Lichaj or Gatt get a look there. Brazil will be a better test for us and I believe they are bringing a good portion of their 'A' team in for the match. *Edit - Well they are bringing some potent offense but their back four and GK are young and suspect so we should have some chances in this one
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 28, 2012 -> 07:09 PM) Can throw De Aza in here as well. Not a youngin but he'll be here on the cheap for a while. Quintana is showing some promise as well as another guy KW picked up under the radar
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) Josh Feldman ‏@BigTexJosh Intimidators starting rotation update: Tomorrow LH Jefferson Olacio then LH Scott Snodgress, RH Myles Jaye, LH Matt Lane & LH Blair Walters. That's a pretty intriguing rotation they have going down there
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 28, 2012 -> 06:43 PM) For those like myself that have chastised this organization without remorse the last 2-3 years for the complete inability to produce young, cost-controlled, impact talent the last decade or so - NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! It's about f***ing time. In Sale, Viciedo and Reed - we're looking at a potential #1 starter with Xbox on speed type stuff, a run-producing offensive beast god who deposits missiles all over the damn place and a Craig Kimbrel like android in which you know once he enters the game that it's time for hitters to bend over and take it like a porn star. These three are cheap and belong to us for the next X amount of years. That's how you build a juggernaut and go on a sustained run. This is the new-age way of running a successful baseball operation. I am for now very please. I haven't read anything else in this thread yet but that statement literally just made me
  11. Most Games with 15+ K and 7 1/3 IP or Fewer - Left-handed Pitchers, Live Ball Era Randy Johnson 5 Chris Sale 1 Cliff Lee 1 Al Leiter 1
  12. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 29, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) Why would you vote for him? It'd be hilarious and embarrassing for major league baseball. And it would also further help to point out how ludicrous the current system of naming an All-Star team is
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 25, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) So I have to see either The Five Year Engagement or Wanderlust. Anyone see both? Which is better? Both get about the same reviews on rotten tomatoes. Five Year Engagement has its funny moments. It's a little longer than it should be but it's not bad
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) Who is up to something fun this weekend? I'm staying in town but weekend is busy. Friday: The Jose Quintana show Live Saturday: Golf & a BBQ Sunday: Wedding (holiday weekend weddings suck) Monday: Another BBQ with my folks Yeah I had one to go to last memorial day. Going up to one of the finger lakes saturday for a day or two, haven't decided yet
  15. QUOTE (Cali @ May 24, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) What kind of stuff does Heidenreich have? This is back from 2009 but it's from FS
  16. QUOTE (sunofgold @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) I believe that he played 3rd base in the minors. So it isn't completely foreign territory for him. Yes, it has been awhile but I think that he will fine at 3rd. I am not expecting him to be GG at 3rd, just hope that he can be average. 242 games. 782 chances, 51 errors .935 fielding percentage
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 24, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) I could probably download that, I use paperbacks for now. aFfC is available in paperback but aDwD is only available via hardcover or electronic until august I think
  18. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 24, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) I would disagree with that. I'm not saying he can't be. I think many people on this board wanted and still want Santiago to be a starter. However, the last time I checked this is not a message board for scouts and/or management in the majors. I agree that Reed looks to be a good closer candidate however, his doesn't have that "special" pitch which separate him from others. Santiago has a different pitch that could make him special. However, he decided to not throw strikes and that will obviously hurt him. I think it was a good gamble that hasn't worked out. Lots of scouts and publications listed him as the best closer prospect in baseball coming into the season.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 24, 2012 -> 12:20 PM) Almost done with Storm of Swords. Unreal book series with great surprises. I'm about 75% done with A Dance with Dragons and I completely agree. The next book is a bit slower but just work your way through it. aDwD makes up for it
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2012 -> 03:09 AM) Apparently, there's good hustle and "bad hustle" in Minnesota. Good=Piranhas, Denny Hocking, Henry Blanco, Jason Bartlett, Nick Punto diving into 1B needlessly, Lew Ford, Matthew LeCroy, Cuddyer, Kubel, Koskie, Mientkiewicz, Christian Guzman, Jason Tyner, etc. Bad=Delmon Young, Alexi Casilla, Orlando Hudson, Nishioka, Valencia You don't get points for obscure name drops
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2012 -> 10:55 PM) I am a Twins/Piranhas fan.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 20, 2012 -> 07:22 AM) Except for some All-Star games and now the Phillies, Giants and Cardinals (two times in half a decade) winning the World Series. Realistically, the Phillies were the only dominant multi-dimensional team of those 3....the Giants were more pitching oriented and the Cardinals really just got hot at the right time and rode it all the way through the playoffs, just like in 2006. But the Rangers were clearly the better team overall last year, when you combine the regular season, post-season and the flukey nature of how they lost. The AL is 12-2-1 in the last 15 of them...
  23. Would not mind at all if we tried to see what we could get for Thornton right now. How many big hits/runs has he allowed to score this year so far?
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 18, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) That's just bulls***. You had to throw the ball at his head there. Wow, Greg
