QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:29 PM) He is also my favorite player in the major and I have zero regrets shipping Kershaw for him in my Fantasy Keeper League. I drafted Trout in my keeper league last year and am incredibly happy i did. He is also quickly becoming my favorite non White Sox/ non-Buehrle player

20/7 (or 7/20): White Sox @ Detroit... IT'S ON!!!!

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) Is the Choker going to start at third again? Robin has to sit him. Escobar still listed as the #3 Prospect on Whites Sox web site. What a joke. What a joke -
QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) The problem with it is the casual fan isn't going to go see this more than likely.. the casual fan knows Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Etc. they will see this and go WTF? Most likely the same with stuff like Antman and the Black Panther films, I get that the popularity of superhero movies is booming but these aren't going to appeal to the casual fan. That's why I made the comment I did above. I doubt I am going to see this movie. I don't know anything about Black Panther, but if I saw how it tied in by his introduction in an upcoming film I would probably go see it

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) Mike Trout > Jared Mitchell Can we please go back in time? Mike Trout > Dustin Ackley Donavan Tate Tony Sanchez Matt Hobgood Zack Wheeler Mike Minor Mike Leake Jacon Turner Drew Storen Tyler Matzek Aaron Crow Grant Green Matt Purke Alex White Bobby Borchering AJ Pollock Chad James Shelby Miller Chad Jenkins Jiovanni Mier Kyle Gibson Sorry, going back in time won't help. 20 other teams would beat us to him -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 01:36 PM) YES! Giancarlo Esposito nominated for supporting actor in Breaking Bad. He truly deserves it. Peter Dinklage or Aaron Paul will probably win, though. Also glad to see that Jared Harris was nominated. I don't watch Breaking Bad, but I think Peter Dinklage will win and should win because his portrayal of Tyrion is truly phenomenal.

QUOTE (Wedge @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) Considering the shape of the bullpen, is it possible to do a good job? Just off the top of my head, I felt he left Sale in an inning too long on multiple occasions (KC last week where it almost burned us, and the blowout when I feel he should have been taken out an inning earlier), Peavy has gone close to 120 picthes a couple times, Septimo the other day in Boston when he clearly was all over in a situation I couldn't understand why Thornton wasn't in. He's in a tough spot with the rookies and all that, but in general I think the way he's handled the pitching has been average at best. I've just felt the past 2-3 weeks that he's made some odd choices on who to go to and/or how long to leave guys in. And i've noticed more recently than earlier in the year

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) I really dont' get it. I watch Santiago and he has good stuff. He should be very good and he is the one guy that I'm extremely confused as to how Robin has handled him. To be honest, I think Robin has done a pretty poor job with the pitching staff for the last few weeks

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:57 AM) Hawkins fits right in with Viciedo in terms of K's and walks. Oh, well. Ayala is going to put himself on the map quickly as our top catching prospect. Which isn't exactly a high bar to jump over. You're really going to make that assessment based off of 100 rookie ball at bats from an 18 year old?

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) I'm excited to see him pitch and to see if he has anything but I'm also kinda worried this is gonna get ugly in a hurry tonight Well, sure wish I wasn't right about that one -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 12:26 PM) about 60% through it. Wow I love this book. I understand that nothing really comes to "conclusion" but I feel ALOT has happened in the grand scheme of things. Yeah, lots and lots of buildup. WoW is going to be phenomenal I feel. You still have a few surprises coming.

I'm not really too sure about age issues anymore. It's harder than ever to fake it, and from a White Sox standpoint, after the Wilder fiasco, I'm sure they are being extremely diligent when it comes to signing these kids. And frankly, that's not that absurdly big. Go watch a high school basketball game in big cities

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) This is my new pup. He's 8 weeks old. We know that his mom was a purebred golden retriever. Do you guys have any idea what kid of mixture he is? His tail is about a foot long, skinny and black with a white tip. Did a google search for a St Bernard / Lab mix and got this Very similar to your pup

Keenyn Walker promoted to Winston Salem
ChiSox_Sonix replied to southsider2k5's topic in FutureSox Board
Interesting. Didn't anticipate seeing that. Could be a sign they might want to see him in the AFL? I'm going to assume Thompson moves over to a corner OF spot now. W-S with a very interesting with Semien, Sanchez, Thompson and now Walker there -
Morel to start rehab stint with Bristol
ChiSox_Sonix replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah I don't see a spot for him either. He kind of wastes a spot only being able to play one position. Frankly, I'd just send him to AAA until September. It'd be better for him to get the consistent at bats rather than rot away on the bench for the rest of the year -
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 09:46 AM) Uh, those runs were earned. Look, I'm not saying pitchers don't give up unearned runs or give up runs after squib hits. That stuff happens. But you know that if that 2-run HR cost the Sox the game, the tune on Thornton would be totally different this morning. All I'm saying is that he made a bad pitch to a good high fastball hitter and paid for it. Everyone is so quick to give Thornton a break, but we'd be crucifying the guy if that had led to a Red Sox win. In the long run, no, the runs didn't matter because the Sox won. But next time, they might. I acknowledged he made a mistake up and paid for it. I also pointed out that he really didn't have as bad of an outing as his line might indicate if you did not see the game. His performance was nothing to freak out over

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) He will soon reach the legendary status of Anderson Gomes, Luis Silverio and Paulo Orlando. Ok... Why? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 09:08 AM) Exactly. Not to mention if Crawford wasn't running, that out would have been a DP, and Shoppach never hits in the inning. Or, if Crawford hit the ball a little better it's an easy play for Youk and they go down 1-2-3

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) He was not good. Good win despite Thornton. He really wasn't that bad. Crawford reached on a dribbler to third and Middlebrooks hit an excuse me single right over the 1st base bag. Yes, Shoppach crushed a mistake pitch up in the zone but that was really the only poor batter Thornton had

Exhibits some potential characteristics of either of those

FutureSox Mid-season 2012 Top Prospects List

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) I could see Francouer, but the power comps aren't there. Trumbo might work too. I like Vlad because the swing is so violent, and so fast. Trumbo also wasn't around when Viciedo was coming up and we were getting out first looks at him when those comps were made -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) Black Panther is in the works. For some reason Namor and Aquaman are both having a lot of problems getting traction. Guardians of the Galaxy is kind of a necessary movie if they want to continue on with Thanos. Oh, ok. I'm not really familiar with the whole Marvel Universe, just some of the larger characters/groups. As for Namor, if you look at the board at SHIELD in the post credits scene or Ironman 2, there is a mark on the map in the middle of the Atlantic that would seem to hint at Namor

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) The Guardians of the Galaxy line-up: Star-Lord: Basically, a half-human/half-alien who serves as the commander of the Guardians, an intergalactic Avengers. Drax the Destroyer: A man created to kill Thanos, the villain shown at the end of Avengers. Gamora: Thanos's adopted daughter. Highly skilled assassin. Has some daddy issues. Rocket Raccoon: Think Bender from Futurama, but with more guns and a raccoon. Groot: A giant, talking tree. Vocal cords are so deep most people only here him say "I am Groot" despite his massive intelligence. Unconfirmed for movie: Adam Warlock: Think Dr. Strange, but intergalactic. Also has a Soul Gem in his forehead, which is something that Thanos covets for the Infinity Gauntlet (located in Odin's Vault in Thor) and is Thanos's mortal enemy. Quasar: Gains powers from Quantum Bands, like Green Lantern's ring. Nova: Not a Guardian per se, but another Green Lantern Corps-esque hero. Wow. That sounds like a terrible movie. Really wish they did something more interesting and relevant like Black Panther or Namor
