  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) Just looking at this weekend's schedule and struggling to find a game that interests me. USC/Utah Miami/Clemson Georgia Tech/FSU Ole Miss/A&M Those are about the only games that are at all interesting
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 16, 2015 -> 10:27 AM) 4 for 5 on my 4-team teasers so far (13 points). This week I'm looking at MSU +21.5, UM/MSU O27, Clemson -2.5, Arizona Cardinals +10 4 for 6. Pretty shocking from the Cardinals. They've looked like SB contenders in 4 games, but have 2 awful looking losses now mixed in. Not sure what to think of them.
  3. 4 for 5 on my 4-team teasers so far (13 points). This week I'm looking at MSU +21.5, UM/MSU O27, Clemson -2.5, Arizona Cardinals +10
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 16, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) I don't think there's a choice there. It's Danks and Buehrle or just Danks. If MB came at the right price, I'd rather swallow the Danks money and let him go or make him the long man in the pen. Unlikely to be a realistic possibility, but any way to got Danks out of the rotation is good with me.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) I said Jimbo. I don't know who he meant. A lot of people think Fisher would leave FSU for the right gig, particularly if Saban leaves Alabama. I could see Jimbo going to Alabama but not really anywhere else. He's got a good set-up down at FSU right now. Not many jobs would be more enticing than what he has now. He's also spent almost his entire career in the southeast, so I don't think USC would be that alluring.
  6. If you slide into second base and make contact with the fielder without making any contact with the base, it should be an automatic ejection. I totally get the hard slide trying to break up the DP but it needs to be reined in. Utley's slide was nowhere near the base and so late it resembled more of a football play than a baseball one.
  7. I can't wait until Andy Reid is gone from the team. There is way too much talent on that roster to look so putrid game in, game out. The game has passed him by, he needs to retire. And now with the Charles injury I pretty much hope they lose every game from here on out.
  8. This year's final four is totally up in the air. There are probably 4 SEC teams that I could see making it, the winner of TCU/Baylor is a lock unless they both blow a game in the mean time, the OSU/MSU winner will get in unless they both lose to Michigan who then has a case, Utah may go undefeated, Clemson only has FSU left on their schedule and ND may very well be sitting there with just 1 loss. This is a crazy competitive year in college football with no team or teams running away with anything.
  9. If Mark Buehrle is not hurt, and genuinely is interested in still pitching, it certainly is not time for him to retire. He pitched well enough to be a 4/5 starter on pretty much any team in the league this past season.
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 10:27 AM) On that last play in the Seahawks vs. Lions. The ref was standing right in front of KJ Wright when he batted the ball out of bounds. He even reaches for the flag, but stops himself. I would love to see an interview with him as to why he didn't throw it. That being said if Calvin Johnson doesn't reach for the end zone and just goes down. Lions have first and ten from the 1 yard line. Also would have the chance to run the clock down. The ref said he did not believe it was done intentionally at that time.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:39 PM) Unbelievable missed call by the refs on that Calvin Johnson. You can't intentionally bat the ball through the endzone so the Lions should have still had the ball. Seahawks get the benefit of calls/non-calls more than any other team in the league
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:18 PM) Lol why are you putting my tv thread quote in there Lol i didn't even notice that. I must have accidentally clicked the quote button back in that thread when I posted in here.
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) Aren't the Seahawks and Lions two good defenses? I think both are not as good as last year. I'm not touching the O/U, think it could go either way. If anything, wait until each team has a possession and see what the in-game looks like.
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) Lions tonight (+10) and the under (43.5) sound like a decent parlay bet? I like the Lions as well but I never parlay an under with a score line.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:09 AM) She is a bigtime Bollywood actress, this is her crossover. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) I'd still love to see Mark come back here for a victory lap. If he's healthy I'd take him back on a 2 year deal for #4/5 starter money without questioning it.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:23 AM) My point is, how can you control it when your schedule ends up sucking? You can't. I don't think that was his point. Like Florida State a couple years ago, it's not their fault that their OOC opponents were s***ty. That's part of the problem with scheduling those games 5-10 years down the road. Unfortunately, if you do catch those opponents in down years you will no longer be getting credit for the "big win" you may have hoped for at the time of scheduling.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 09:42 AM) It's amazing to see how bad Colin Kaepernick has become. I don't think he will be starting in a week or so. I don't quite understand it. I always thought he was overrated but I thought he was at least an average QB. This is very strange to see. His backup is Blaine Gabbert so I'm not sure how short of a leash he has. It's not like they have someone waiting in the wings and they don't have any playoff aspirations this season
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 12:55 PM) I'm not saying SMU was innocent, I'm just saying it's funny how SMU has twice now been the one school the NCAA could throw the hammer down on. You know what they say, the NCAA was so mad at Syracuse and UNC that they brought the hammer down on SMU
  19. To further demonstrate the absurdity of Andy Reid, yesterday with the Chiefs down 14 points in the 4th quarter, on 4th down inside the 20 he kicked a FG.
  20. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 05:17 PM) Can't tease for progressive parlays. I meant as a separate bet. It lost anyways. WTF UCLA? College football has been so weird this year.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 12:24 AM) This is where I hate twitter, etc. It was reported the night before the game he was gonna retire. What a joke. Those sites that lied need to retract. They had NO sources on this as it turned out. Now the Sox CAN sign him!! Trade one of our lefty starters and sign Mark on the cheap for 1-2 years! It's not a twitter thing. Sports Illustrated also had an article for example. Anyways, Mark Buehrle had been one of my favorite players for the past 15 years. He was a great player but he's an even better human being. It was fun watching him pitch and it's remarkable how underrated he was yet some people here still think he was the complete opposite. He was one of the first guys I can remember making their debut from the minors and I'm sure he'll have a statue here one day. It'd be great if kept playing, but either way, we probably won't see another quite like him for a long time.
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) Todd Haley calls the plays......... That doesn't at all change my point.......
  23. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) Arizona is not -7 Did you mean the Cardinals? Yes the Cards. I'd buy it to 6.5 if you can though. I also like a 4 team teaser of BYU (-4), TCU (-1), UCLA (-1), Stanford (-1)
  24. The Steelers had two drives late in the game where they needed just a few yards on 3rd/4th downs. 4 plays. 0 touches for Leveon Bell. I understand not trusting your kicker in that OT drive from that spot but Bell was running over everyone. What an atrocious job by Tomlin. I was on Baltimore -2.5, but that was one of the luckiest sides I've ever been on. Some of these coaches just have no idea how to call games. They call out of fear of losing rather than what is best for winning.
  25. Michigan/Maryland moved up to noon because of the weather already
