  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 03:52 PM) This fighting downfield happens EVERY game in NFL the fix is in guys......................GB getting game handed to them. LOL. I love catching up on this thread monday mornings Edit: Also, I know most of you are Bears fans, but most people have been saying at least 2 of the 3 OPI calls on Jeffery were correct and the 3rd was iffy. I understand the game was called badly and apparently there were similar plays by GB not called penalties, but the actual OPI calls themselves weren't bad calls.
  2. Lions D did nothing for me, Danario Alexander put up a goose egg, Ray Rice got my 7 measly points and Martellus Bennett got me 2.5 points. Thank god for Russell Wilson! Going to the championship and I just picked up the NYJ defense (game time waivers so they were still free agent) for next week against the Chargers
  3. 2 QB league...Flacco/Cousins/Wilson/Bradford Leaning towards Wilson/Flacco but the idea of playing Cousins is intriguing
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) I've been craving more GOT, I'd take either the next season or next book. Preferably the next book but who knows when Martin gets that done. Probably not until late 2014
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) That's f***ing bulls***. Yeah, I'm playing against him as well. I saw the replay and that surely looked like his fumble. I won last week by .6 points, so hopefully that doesn't affect anything
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 04:49 PM) Would I be crazy to start Mike Williams over Hakeem Nicks this week? Nicks is getting the targets and some TDs but just doesn't look right, and it should be a shootout down in NOLA. I'd probably start Williams
  7. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) so, at their worst, they are basically the same. I think that's what you asked. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) Well, -8 would be worse than 0.0, but not vastly different, no. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) Ichiro is simply not that good anymore. He still has pretty good bat control and can make contact on a fairly regular basis, but he generally does not hit the ball with much authority anymore, doesn't walk a great deal, and he isn't the defender he once was. He's a slap singles hitter instead of the gap to gap stolen base machine he was earlier in his career. De Aza is a gap to gap hitter right now, he works a count, hits for a bit of power, and can play an effective CF. Ichiro has had a great career, but he is not going to be much more than a .280 hitter for the rest of his career, and he might not even get to that point. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) If by fairly regular, you mean about 92%, 5th best in the majors last year, then yeah. Are you trying to start semantics arguments or something?
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) Sooooo....the basketball-only members of the Big East are about to dissolve the league, form their own and most likely poach Xavier, Dayton and Butler to join them. LINK Also targeting St Marys, Gonzaga, St Louis & VCU
  9. Sooooo....the basketball-only members of the Big East are about to dissolve the league, form their own and most likely poach Xavier, Dayton and Butler to join them.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 06:53 PM) Ray Olmedo signed with the Twins QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) Addition by Subtraction. Hopefully the magical boost AAAA fringe players get while playing in Minnesota against us doesn't occur
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) That's how my yahoo league works. I had a bye this week, and I'm re-seeded against the lowest seed next week. Championship is only one week, though. Can you set Yahoo league to do a 2-week playoff for Round 1 and just a single week for round 2 and 3?
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 12:52 AM) What's the reasonable Christmas gift dollar amount for a girl that you've been with for 4 months? Whatever you're comfortable with. Last Christmas was the first with my current GF and we had been together 3-4 months. I bought her a necklace that was around $150 and then a few small things I know she wanted (lotion, slippers, candy etc..). I also got us two tickets to Wicked on broadway in NYC (so that was about $250) but it was something for both of us. There's no right or wrong amount, it depends on you, her, your financial situations and what each of you would be comfortable with.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) Update on my 26 year old friend (single no kids), the one dumped by a 23 year old woman who left him for a 33-year-old guy at her workplace with 3 kids (one as old as 10). I didn't know he was this f***ed up, but he's decided to make a play for her in February. He's going to wait until then, and at that time either take part in some big production where he dramatically asks for her back or something more simple where the intent is the same: to ask her to leave the guy and return to him. I told him that seems kind of stupid and she'll likely reject him and get the 'last laugh.' His response was, ''I have to try, for closure. I have to see if she wants me back. She may want me back but thinks I've moved on.'' Most of his friends have advised him to forget her, but he said as of today he's intent on doing this. I did ask him, "If she's capable of doing this now, what if you get married and have 2 kids and she dumps you then?" He said, "I'd take that risk." Love is blind? Or ??? Is your friend relaying information to you from a TV show he's working on?
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) Another story involving an NFL player and drunk driving: http://www.indystar.com/viewart/20121210/N...ts-Reggie-Wayne That sure is a misleading remark prior to the article
  15. Looks like I'm advancing to Round 2 (which guarantees a top 4 finish and at least $100) by 0.62 points thanks to Gostkowski's six points. Just hoping I don't get boned with some stat correction coming up
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 07:57 PM) Bummer. I have him and Welker in a PPR. Opponent has Brady and Foster going. I'm down 99-64 but its a two-week playoff. Hoping and praying I get like 50 out of those two tonight to bring me some life. How do you run those? Can you do it through ESPN or Yahoo or is it off-line?
  17. A lot of places don't have lines open yet on it, but I'm seeing Cleveland -7.5 and -6.5 over Washington right now for Week 15
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) Dez Bryant is out for the season with torn ligaments in his finger. I wonder if it is the finger
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) That doesn't mean that the #2 team will actually want a linebacker though. Jacksonville, Oakland, KC? QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) Normally no team is taking a LB #2, but there is not a franchise QB in this draft, so it's at least possible. KC wouldn't take him. They are set at the LB position (Johnson, Houston, Hali). I don't know how Jacksonville sits there and Oakland does have Phillip Wheeler. Walter football has Te'o the 3rd LB coming off the board at #7 overall FWIW
  20. Also, in my other money league, I am down 5.5 points with Gostkowski left and he is done. So I need 6 points from him (knock on wood, he's had 7+ in every game so far). It's only a contest because I played a Giants homer fan who decided to play the Giants defense against NO and of course this league awards team defenses points for return yards (1 per 25). Ugh. :
  21. I was the #2 seed in one of my two money leagues and along with the 1 seed we had far and away most points scored this year. My team this week Rodgers had his first game in 36 games without a TD pass at home Demaryius Thomas was average and missed the entire 2nd quarter with injury I had a fill-in WR because Harvin, Amendola, Shorts, Titus Young and Jordy Nelson are all obviously hurt Leshoure did nothing and only played 1 series all 2nd half RG3 missed out on points after his injury Pettigrew played one series, no targets, left cuz of injury? I'm currently down by 1 point with a kicker and Jerod Mayo left (we do 2 IDP instead of team defense). But he has Welker and Ridley. This sucks.
  22. Started off as a Yankee fan but moved to Germany when I was about 7 for a few years. My dad wasn't a sports fan and my favorite shirt my mom getting me from the american store on the nearby Panzer army base was a White Sox shirt so it just kind of stuck with me when we moved back to New York a few years later. In the same pattern, that is why my brother is an Indians fan
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) Finally get a decent (not even good) game from mcfadden, and dude injures himself. I'm in the playoffs, so no guarantee i even move on, but very annoyed. Matthew Berry/Stephania Bell podcast this morning said it's not a big deal
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) you have a long long long long way to go. The books i am reading right now, the characters(besides Pug) are 3 and 4 generations past the people you are reading about I picked up all three of the books. How many are there? Do the other series after the Riftwar Saga continue on with the same world/story/characters etc...?
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 10:32 AM) I will. I hope this series encourages someone to adapt Raymond E Feist "Magician" to either film or series Funny you mention that, I just started reading Apprentice about a month ago actually
