QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 10:41 AM) I'm aware of the circumstances, but the reality is their schedule strength is so bad they aren't going to get considered as a 1-loss team. I know. Virginia Tech has been awful this year, Maryland was supposed to be good but not after losing their top 4 QBs and having to play a linebacker, Florida (if they beat them) will be without their QB, Wake and BC are horrible etc...My point was I find it curious that they are ranked so high in the coaches poll yet other polls vary to 10, 17 and completely unranked. That's a pretty ridiculous variance. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 10:32 AM) I don't buy for one second that it's some major coincidence that pitbulls are the ones people fight with, or that you hear about having to have their jaws broken to release something, or that you hear are extremely violent. All breeds are not one the same level of temperament and likelihood for violence. Yeah, I agree you CAN raise a perfectly friendly pitbull and you CAN raise an evil golden retriever, but genetically these dogs are not the same and it's no coincidence which one tends to be the violent one of the two. So I'm curious, what's your opinion on people owning big cats, chimpanzees, venomous snakes, wolf/dog mixes, bears etc...?

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) You don't get to play in the 4th-5th best conference, schedule two FCS teams, and then complain about the computer rankings. FCS schools weren't their fault. West Virginia and I forget who else were initially scheduled but they both backed out so FSU had to scramble to fill their schedule out or have no game at all. This was pretty well known to anyone who pays attention to more than just 1 team -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 17, 2012 -> 11:42 PM) I don't know if they are the best team, but they are the only undefeated team and that's what matters. Beat USC & their genius coach and ND is deservedly in the final. And a good chance that they play a SEC team of course. BCS choas at its best. Yes. I was one of the ND detractors last week. They deserve to be number 1 in the country. They are the only undefeated team left and that by itself says a lot. It's not easy to do. (I'm an FSU fan and the 1 point loss @ NC State as our only blemish is killing me). I still don't think ND is the best team in the country, probably not top 5, and believe they will get easily beaten by Alabama or Georgia, but for now they absolutely deserve to be ranked #1. Brian Kelly should get tons of credit. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 17, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) Great chance of Alabama/Florida. However, with Barkley's injury, ND seems to be in a good spot against an imploding USC team. Don't think Florida will beat FSU. Driskel is out and playing at FSU and their defense might be too much. I think FSU wins that game. *Side note* - I don't understand how the Coaches Poll has FSU at #5, yet the AP has them at #10 and they are unranked in one of the computer polls for the BCS. They should really be sitting around 5 or 6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) Be interesting to see if the Maryland/Rutgers move sets off anything else. Rumor is ACC would target UCONN - obviously for basketball reasons -

I know UCONN is down this year and probably will never be ranked higher than 18-20 while also being ineligible for the post-season, but I'm amazed that their backcourt is essentially being ignored. Their guard combo of Napier-Boatright-Calhoun has got to be top 5 in the country. -
QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 09:03 AM) Why is it when dog fighting is caught, they majority of the dogs are pit bulls? I understand that pit bulls can be really great pets, but reality is when people are into fighting they ain't buying poodles and peek-a-poos. Why is it when I attend a UFC fight or boxing match, the majority of the fighters are really big & in shape guys who could kick my ass? It's a lie that they are inherently dangerous
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) I'd like to live in a place where pitbulls are banned. They are a violent dog breed that I don't want to be anywhere around. I understand the frustration of owners of pitbulls who can't take them with them, that sucks for them, but I understand why certain places have this ban. One thing about the law that seems unfair is the apparently broad classification of what is actually considered a "pitbull". I've heard a lot of breeds get unfairly lumped in to that category of dog. And this why there are these stupid laws. Beacuse people who are ignorant to reality believe the public lies about the breeds in question.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) I'm tentatively benching Brandon Marshall in favor of Denarius Moore, assuming that Cutler will be out. Really nice matchup against the Saints. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get at least 4-5 catches with 70-90 yards. Maybe a TD. I'm starting him in the one league I own him (of course my decision is easier with Harvin on bye)

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) They scored with 5:05 left on the clock. Those 5 seconds clearly change the perception on how close the game was Hickory, no one is saying it wasn't a big time win for ND. Easily one of the ten best wins that any team has this season. But the game "wasn't close"! -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) OK, so when ND beats a Top 10 team on the road by 17, it's somehow not indicative of how good ND is. Got it. But Oregon beat the #17 team on the road by 11 and they're much more awesome. Got it. Read what I said because that's not what I said. But keep mixing up what everyone is saying to try and prove your point -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 07:43 AM) ND didn't struggle against the best team on their schedule. The Oklahoma game wasn't close. How is that less indicative of how they would fare against KSU than their 3-point win over Purdue? You're cherry-picking results to support your hatred of ND. You clearly didn't watch the game then. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 08:16 AM) The Oklahoma game was tied with 5 minutes left in the game. Thank you. The margin of victory in that game is not indicative of how the game went. Despite people claiming ND "blew out" Oklahoma, that simply is not true. It is still a great win regardless, but by no means was that game "not even close" -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) Respectable meaning what? They are essentially an upper level MAC team. Their last 10 years have been good for them since the olden days of them actually competing for something and they've gone 83-53. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 07:35 AM) Navy, or an upper level MAC team, would beat the worst team on any other Top 10 team's schedule by quite a bit. That is my point. Yeah, Navy in recent years has fielded a team that can give a lot of schools headaches. Compared to BCS bottom feeders like Temple, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Colorado etc...Navy would more than hold their own. -

QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) It's easy to make that "second-tier" comment since Army and Navy are independents... factor them in every year and it doesn't sound so impressive. Navy often fields a pretty respectable team. Army's always terrible though. -

US draws 2-2 in Russia Only saw highlights but that's still a good result. Largely experimental roster on the road against a tough, in-form Russian side. Bradley's goal was fantastic. He and Howard are simply phenomenal. From accounts, Diskerud, Gatt, Agudelo and Boyd (and Jozy) all played well. Good to hear about our young players. Promising. Still need help along the back, especially in the center. Really hoping we see John Anthony Brooks called in at some point next year whether it's the January camp, Gold Cup later on in the Hex etc... -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) Never since 1978 when Division 1 football split. That's pretty amazing. Would have assumed differently. Of course, with ND having so many long running series of games and USC being such a money game for an opponent it's not super shocking. UCLA is strangely among them however. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) So Ben Roethlisberger wont be playing for a while In a 2 QB league, picked up Leftwich purely as a block to the team in first who only has Big Ben and Freeman. Even more glad I did that now.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Sox missed the boat. The Marlins were ripe for the picking. Sad, sad sad we couldn't be the team to make that deal that Toronto made with the worst owner in all of sports history, Loria. It's not the Sox fault. They don't have the best GM in the history of ever working for them. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) Random fact I saw a few weeks ago: Notre Dame, USC, & UCLA are the only three schools to never play a FCS opponent. Never, or this year?
