QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 01:15 AM) I'm saying I hate how something like that is considered out of bounds in football. Like earlier when the Cowboys CB picked off the ball, but was ruled down because he brushed up against the WR's shoe when he was getting up. Really? The WR had no idea where the ball was, he was not trying to get the CB down, the CB just happen to hit his foot when he was getting up. That's a damn dumb rule. Um, because it is out of bounds? There's no such thing as "a little out of bounds", "a little foul", "a little over the goal line" etc...It either is or it isn't. Not really sure how'd you propose changing that. Intent? "Well if he didn't brace himself he would have been in bounds, so TD." Or "he was trying to avoid the guy and barely stepped out, so let's just ignore it"

Being Brazilian, i'm surprised he goes by two names

2016 Copa America will include the US, Mexico and 4 other CONCACAF teams...and it will be held in the US! That's f***ing phenomenal!!!! -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 01:06 AM) Time to end everyone's anticipation. I won the WS! Simmed the first 5 games, played Game 6 with Sale. Won 7-3. Sale went 9 innings, 8 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K. And then, to ruin my high, I advanced to the offseason and I see not only does Michael Young retire, who was GREAT for my team, but RA Dickey retired, AND Magglio Ordonez retired. Damnit. Guess I have some work to do. Looks like I may need to call up Kolbrin Vitek to play 3B for this team, and Jose Quintana and Nestor Molina will be in my rotation alongside Danks, Sale, and Humber. Thank god we can all move forward now

QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 09:02 AM) I doubt he broke the rules, but it clearly looks like he went with the tackling method most likely to injure rather than most likely to tackle the QB. Luckily for him, he's so immensely talented that he pretty much always gets you down no matter how he goes after you. Also, Jay Cutler is easily the toughest son of a b**** we've had behind center since I've started watching the Bears. I do recall a delirious Chris Chandler trying to take snaps at one point, though I disagree. He had Cutler by the shirt sleeve and it one point it looked like he was holding his hand. Cutler had already broken off a couple big runs in scrambles out of a rush so he'd already demonstrated ability to avoid sacks during the game. Suh got his other hand around him but Cutler still had his throwing arm available and for a moment it looked like he was trying to throw. Suh needed to get him down as fast as possible. And he did. Suh is a big man and has speed someone his size should not have. Everything he does looks violent. And his past has nothing to do with the play in question.

I know most people here are Bears fans, but the calls of the Suh play being dirty is hilarious.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 10:39 AM) I could see your point on the NFC North but not the NFC East.. The Eagles, Cowboys and Skins aren't that good.. The Skins are about a year away. Neither are the Cardinals or Rams

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) Russ...the trio's of cities is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm leaning towards Rome/Venice/Florence (with a potential day trip or two somewhere in there) or Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon. Might come down to weather at either place during that time of year. How many days/nights would you recommend in each city? If I was planning on going to Florence, I'd also stop in San Marino. Just because I think it'd be neat to be able to knock another country off as having visited

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) His snaps were down big time last week. They're throwing to him when he's in the game, but if they're going to give the snaps to Britt, Washington, and Cook, I don't want to play Wright. Of the four players you mentioned, this is what their receptions/targets have looked like this year Britt: DNP, 1/2, 6/11, DNP, 2/5, 4/11 = 13/29 Total Wright: 5/6, 2/8, 7/11, 4/8, 9/11, 6/8 = 33/52 Total Washington: 2/8, 2/2, 3/3, 3/5, 4/8, 3/9 = 17/35 Total Cook: 4/6, 3/6, 4/4, 3/4, 5/8, 4/4 = 23/32 I have a buddy who is a big Titans fan for some reason and he says that they really like Wright down there. And looking at those numbers, I'm personally pretty comfortable with him as a bye week play. He's led the team in targets and catches practically every week.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 17, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) I think I know which way I'm leaning, but I need advice PPR league, standard scoring otherwise, WR/RB flex, do I start Kendall Wright or Mike Williams (TB)? Wright got me 13 last week and has a pretty nice matchup with the Bills for slot receivers, but Mike Williams has been really good the last 2 weeks and faces a terrible New Orleans pass defense. In the same vein, I need to start one of Scott Chandler and Aaron Hernandez. Logic says to start Hernandez, but the Jets generally play the Patriots pretty tough, and the Tennessee secondary and linebacking corps is not very good. Or should I just flip a coin and hope for the best? I'm 5-1 on the year and going up against the only other 5-1 team in our league, so winning would be pretty sweet. I think I'd go with Wright. He's been very solid and is averaging 12 PPG in PPR leagues. I'm starting him this week as a bye week replacement as well. He has a good matchup and continues to get targets. I think he only has 1 TD so that makes the numbers even better. I think he grabs a TD this week too

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 17, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) I read something in a live game blog last night, that due to some turf issues, Seattle can't host a big USMNT game? I have no idea what that meant, especially considering that Antigua can host games, but that could be a reason. Obviously that would be one of the best home crowds you can get. That'd be a shame if true. Would love to see Honduras or Costa Rica get scheduled there. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) From what I read they couldn't use the roof because it was below a certain temperature. They're not supposed to use it in that case. As for the US, it was their best showing (other than that awful and scary early goal) since the Scotland game. The offense was unstoppable in the first half and they played a clean, possessive second half. That third goal had maybe the best build up on a US goal I can remember. Unreal stuff from Bradley. Hex schedule comes out Thursday. I'll be curious to see where the US decides to host the matches, though I'm pretty sure that will come later. Sites will probably come out later, but I'm sure Columbus will have the Mexico game, KC will get another, Foxboro will have one and then possibly RFK/Meadowlands/LA. Would love to see a game up in Seattle, preferably against one of the stronger opponents (Honduras). -

Sweden came back from down 4-0 to earn a draw at Germany today. Incredible. -
I do really like the premise of Revolution and enjoyed it again last night after getting caught up, but man, Miles and Charlie are probably the worst two actors on television. I like the show, but that greatly detracts from it

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) That argument is as old as time. I only veto if it seems to be collusion, others in my league argue that you should veto as a weapon. That's it. And I have a real problem with people who do that. Part of the fun is wheeling and dealing. Even in money leagues. Leagues where trading basically isn't allowed because of people who do this just becomes less fun
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) What trade did you make Just saw this. Anyways, it was Brady Quinn and Michael Bush for Mikel Leshoure The other guy already had Matt Cassel and his other QB was Brees (bye) so he needed a starter. I had 4 QBs and needed a RB with two of mine on bye. Other guy also had 6 RBs. So both of us traded from excess to get a need. Both teams would have benefited. Two people responded and said they vetoed the trade because they didn't want to see our teams get better. Another guy said he vetoed it because he saw that the other guy didn't have a QB if the trade didn't go through. Just stupid stuff.

Klinsmann leaves both Jozy Altidore and Terrence Boyd (Chris Wondolowski too) off the roster in favor of Eddie The Grown Ass Man Johnson and Alan Gordon. Seriously. Because these upcoming games aren't important or anything... Ugh.
