  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) Props to de Aza for that, but it helps to bat in the lineup following a guy who is hardly ever on first base. Leadoff hitters in the NL do that 162 games a year
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 12:21 PM) What happened to Meachum? Second, I faced a guy with both Bush and Cruz. Both scored 39 points. He's healthy. Problem is he still sucks and should not be relied upon ever.
  3. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) So who do I bench..Bowe or Wallace?? I would start Wallace
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 10:02 AM) Jim Calhoun reportedly set to announce retirement. Thanks for the 3 NC's Jim! Will always appreciate them. What a job he did building that program. Should be interesting to see what happens now that he is gone. From all accounts, Kevin Ollie has had some high praise and recruits supposedly really like him. Hopefully that translates into the same pipeline of kids coming in to Storrs
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) Pick a Flex starter please: Michael Turner vs. DEN Donald Brown vs. MIN Antonio Brown vs. NYJ QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) Antonio Brown will struggle to score against his own defense, so go Michael Turner. Donald Brown is teh suck. So is Turner. I'd go Antonio Brown, especially if it is a PPR league. Revis will be on Wallace so Brown should be a green light. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 12:12 PM) My teams way too stacked not to have questions every week... I think once I get more of an idea of what opposing defenses look like throughout the league I'll have a better grasp on who to pick. RG3 vs STL or Payton vs ATl Wallace, Bowe, Loyld, Blackmon, or Jeffery (pick 3, I kinda wanna work Alshon in against the Packs weak secondary) Is Matthews 100% ready to go?? If not my backups are BJGE and Richardson (other starter McCoy) Much appreciated. Matthews probably not playing this week. I'd go with the Law Firm. Atlanta-Denver will be a shootout and Atlanta just lost Brent Grimes. However, St Louis sucks and RG3 should pick up points on the ground. It's a toss-up to me, but I think I'd go Peyton if I had to make a choice. Ouch on those WRs this week. Wallace tough matchup and Bowe still dealing with catching up following the hold out. Take a flier on Jeffery since GB's defense is bad.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) Don't be tempted to run Bush out there. Trent is a workhorse back moving forward, and the chances of Bush scoring twice two weeks in a row is nill. You drafted Richardson in the first two (maybe?) or three (hopefully?) rounds, you play him, it's that simple. Also, Cincy's run defense has nothing on the Eagles. Thanks. And it was 4th actually
  7. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 12:05 AM) Also, thought I'd share this. It's a fantasy football trade value chart. Pretty cool concept... http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfo...ade-value-chart Cool concept, terrible execution. Any chart where Shonn Greene, Frank Gore and Donald Brown are more "valuable" than RG3 should not be taken seriously
  8. Who would you guys start - PPR league, everything else standard - Michael Bush or Trent Richardson. Initially I was just going to start TR but now i'm questioning it cuz of how bad GB's defense is and the fact that MB will poach any goal line chances for Chicago. Thought?
  9. Apparently some people missed the post with the LH/RH splits off Scherzer this year
  10. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) s***ty schedule for an East Coast fan trying to get to a game on a weekend. I was hoping to go to Citi Field, but during the week in May won't work. My best bets are @Cleveland 4/12-4/14, @Philly 7/12-7/14 or @Boston 8/30-9/1. Looks like Philly will be my main target. Woulda been nice if DC or Toronto were on the weekend. Oh well. My thoughts exactly. No NYC, DC or Toronto options this year. Baltimore in play though
  11. Danny Williams at the defensive mid spot was fantastic as well. Johnson also was good pushing forward. Really liked what I saw out of Zusi as well. Dempsey actually played pretty poorly. Lots of his touches weren't crisp and he just looked rusty, which is not surprising. I'm hoping Klinsmann substitutes Donovan and Bradley (assuming they are healthy) in for Zusi and Torres and see how that lineup fares. Win at A&B by at least a couple goals and that should do it.
  12. I scored 150 points and lost by 3 because I played Rashad Jennings (5 points) and Ben Tate (5 points). I had MJD (who I thought was gonna get like 8 touches), Richardson (who was bad) and Michael Bush (who i was gonna play until I saw Foster might be here). Ugh. What terrible decisions.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) I'm in a tough spot this week. In my auction league i do not have good early depth at RB, I have good depth if some RBs go down. This weekend: AP or Ben Tate? Tate even before Foster's possible injury. AP will get 8-10 touches. Tate will get more and do better against a very weak Dolphins team. Houston could have 200 yards on the ground in this one.
  14. WC qualifiers begin in Europe today and the next batch of CONCACAF games as well. US-Jamaica at 8PM tonight! Ireland beat Kazakhstan with a miraculous comeback. PK in the 89th minute and a winner in stoppage time gave them a 2-1 victory
  15. So based on his performance does Hawkins crack BA's Top 100? You gotta think he kinda has to
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) If he becomes romo's main TD target, it won't matter that he's the 3rd receiver. He would be starting in most 12 man leagues. I think it was a one game aberration. Austin and Witten both were not 100% and i'm sure Ogletree was an afterthought in the Giants preparation. Not to mention he was frequently covered by the NYG #4 CB. He'll have his moments but I would not expect many great performances like this from him. Espcially now when teams will have to acknowledge what he can do
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) When I was an 8th grader (not SO long ago, mind you ) I had kids picking on me for basically the sole reason that I wouldn't retaliate. I was the "good kid" so what could I do? They'd do the most tedious, annoying things; poking my shoulder, etc. It really started bothering me, I talked to my parents about it. My dad told me I had to stand up for myself somehow and they had to at least believe that I WOULD retaliate if they wouldn't stop. One day we were outside doing some all-class activity and someone decided to trip me so I fell down. I got up, picked the kid up by the neck (hooray for being a 6 foot tall 13 year old) and punched him in the face repeatedly until I didn't feel so angry. I served an in-school suspension and nobody f***ed with me anymore. The teachers weren't even mad I used to have a stutter in elementary/middle school. It wasn't terrible but it was noticeable. I'd get picked on occasionally but not too bad. Well, in modified basketball practice it happened by a couple older kids who thought they were funny. After finally having enough of it I dribbled towards one of them and clocked him in the face. Coach knew why and didn't say anything. Nothing else came of it and they never did it again. Sometimes it's just what you gotta do
  18. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) Since you guys are pros or somethin..who should I start week 1 RGIII or P. Manning? I'm torn. I keep hearing experts say RGIII is gonna have a big game against the Saints. At the same time I know Ryan Clarks not playing in the Steelers game. This is a money league other wise I wouldnt care to ask RGIII easy. He'll get rushing yards and be forced to throw a lot with the Saints presumably holding leads. I don't trust Manning. He's been gone for a whole year. I think it's foolish to think he'll be back to "normal" right away. Plus Pittsburgh has a good defense
  19. It's complete and utter bulls*** that UConn is getting punished this season for a retroactive application of a new set of rules while UNC gets off clean for what is blatant academic fraud. Nice to see several national outlets with write ups on it but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow. NCAA is such an absurd joke. Double standards galore.
  20. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) Omg, I get so mad when we get tossed out stealing You just got on that base by sheer luck, and you can't even wait 2 seconds to be called out? Doesn't really bother me when there are two outs like that. SB puts him in position to score on a base hit. Caught just allows us to start from leadoff next inning. Would have taken extra bases to score him from first. No biggie
  21. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) We're quoting anonymous WSI posters now? If AJ tested positive for anything it's Flintstone vitamins & a positive mental attitude. However, if this is somehow true, and someone involved in the process has indeed framed AJ and made him incorrectly test positive, then it'll be fun to watch all the Sox fans out there call for AJ's departure in order to go with Flowers, who has of course always been clean. Who let greg have two screen names?
