QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) Every team they have played is a BCS school, so that helps. Even if they are weaker BCS teams, it's still better in the computers than non-BCS or D-2. Also, I believe they don't allow margin of victory in the computer rankings. Yeah, even playing one FCS school kills your computer ratings. That's why FSU is down around 9 or 10 in BCS because they're ranked 17 or so in computers, with some leaving them off altogether. They've played 2 FCS schools this season -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) need to pick two of Felix Jones, Ryan Matthews and Alfred Morris to start this week. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) In Matthews, I never trust. Yeah, go with Jones and ALF QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 10:16 AM) Daniel Thomas or Marcel Reece? I'm thinking Reece given he plays NO. DMC is most likely out and NO defense couldn't stop ND's offense. Plus Thomas plays thursday and those games have been so unpredictable. Go with Reece, especially if it's PPR. No brainer IMO

Marlins trade Buehrle, Josh Johnson, Reyes plus others to Blue Jays
ChiSox_Sonix replied to Baron's topic in The Diamond Club
Yeah I can't see how the Marlins can survive in Miami after this. They're going to to be elsewhere in the near future. That organization is a joke. That being said, I'd love if Hahn got on the phone with them and inquired about Ricky Nolasco and Logan Morrison Also, if Toronto was willing to swallow some of MB's salary, I'd take him back here in an instant. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) I have a friend who knows some advance scouts at ND who had been scouting potential bowl matchups and they told him Alabama would have been a much easier matchup for ND than KSU or Oregon, and it wasn't even close. They'll take a loss by any team ahead of them but they were really hoping the other two would lose and Alabama would win out. I can actually see that. Bama's offense is the worst out of the three. ND could have possibly gotten away with scoring 17 or less and still have a chance -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) What a scoop

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) What's weird about watching the Chiefs is that they actually have talent. It's not like when you watch Jacksonville and they just don't have any good players. I think if the Chiefs get a better coach and QB they could be a much better team. Oh me too. The talent is there everywhere except QB. They've had some injuries but not like last season. I just don't get it

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) I refuse to fly anything that is within 5-6 hours drive. By the time I get to an airport, go through security, wait for the plane, etc, etc, it is the same amount of time to drive, and way less headaches. I don't mind the actual flying at all, honestly it is just like a longer train ride for me. Haha yeah I know right. I had to go from Fort Worth to Wichita this summer and I wanted to just drive but my company just put me on a plane and the route sent us through Denver and took just as long if not longer.

Ok, so the Chiefs suck. I knew this before the game last night, but if anyone for whatever reason watched last night, that was them in a nutshell. Everything that can wrong, will go wrong. They had an offensive TD called back because of holding. Drive result? Missed FG. Ensuing Pittsburgh possession, defensive TD reversed on replay. But wait, a TD celebration still stands and gives Pittsburgh a 1st down instead of 4th. Two more first downs on the drive because of a KC penalty on 3rd down and the Steelers take the lead. I can't even make this up. Pathetic. Between their generally suckage, Cassell being Cassell, Bowe dropping everything and the weather, the last thing they needed were those awful calls that went Pittsburgh's way late in the 4th though. Ugh, such a horrible season.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 04:30 PM) I can't believe Oregon is a 3-touchdown favorite. I wouldn't give those points, but I don't think the outcome will ever be in doubt -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Yes, the backfield is good, but how good? They are facing terrible defenses. I want to see what they do with Stanford. I honestly don't think Stanford will handle them. Stanford is constructed to beat USC, not a team like Oregon. Obviously, it's college football and anything can happen, but Stanford just doesn't have the athletes to contain Oregon IMO. I think Oregon's toughest game left is at OSU -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) Almost every highlight of an Oregon passing TD I see has the QB sitting in the pocket having a cup of coffee before throwing the ball. That isn't a luxury he'll get against good defenses. Not arguing that point, but they throw a ton of screens and slants and hand offs to Barner/Thomas a lot so you're clearly not seeing a bunch of their highlights where that isn't the case as well Edit: You specifically said passing TD, so ignore the handoff part. But that also doesnt discount how good their backfield is, including Mariotta. -

Yeah and no one has said that either, but ok. True, Oregon has not played anyone really either, but if you watch the games, they look a lot more impressive every time they take the field. Kansas State's last 4 weeks have been quite impressive, so you can't really use that argument for them. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) Yes, I get is, the teams ND beat stink because ND beat them, and Oregon is so awesome racking up huge wins against Cal and Colorado. No, you don't get it. The teams ND beat stink, because they stink. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) That's a bunch of BS. ND's defense would keep them in the game against anybody. False. I get that it's not their fault and the teams on their schedule are often good or very good. But this year they flat out stink. When you need to get bailed out by the refs and a missed 35 yard FG to beat Pitt (at home), struggle with BYU (at home) and Purdue (at home) and win unconvincingly over BC, MSU and Michigan (at home), I find it hard to believe they'd fare much better against the teams I listed. Their win @ Oklahoma is a great win, but the scoreline is deceptive. Oklahoma is also greatly overrated since Landry Jones has been pretty mediocre this year. Their best showing is arguably blowing out Miami, which is nothing to scoff at. Their defense is very good, but I would not say their "defense would keep them in the game against anybody" after seeing them barely be tested. I honestly don't know how they are going to stop Marqise Lee. And I don't think they'd have any answer for Oregon's offense, or K-State or TAMU's QBs either. I could be wrong, but with what I've seen this year with my eyes, ND is more like a 10-12 team. I'd make them the underdog against at least that many teams on a neutral field. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) Of that list, Keon Barnum surprises me simply because he hasn't done anything yet. Probably a testament to how thin our system is, but only having 50 PA since being drafted, and suffering an injury, it's sad that he is our 8th best prospect. Well, serious question, how many 1st round (plus supplemental) round picks don't crack their org top 10s the following year?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) So, I hate flying. I refuse to. My sister just announced her husband is going to be stationed in Italy for 4 years and my entire family wants to go visit her in 2014. So, yea.. this presents a problem for me. Xanax and booze. But seriously, i hear ya. I fly occasionally for work and I hate it.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) I get that most people are going to argue what benefits them. Its not just about your team, the question is did anyone in your league get screwed. Because 1 game having a different outcome could change the entire league. Whatever happens Im sure yahoo will just say its free, you pay for what you get. This is interesting, because doesn't Yahoo have pay leagues this year? Wonder what will happen there. I'm sure it's covered somewhere in the terms and conditions
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) I set my line ups and then was changing players around that morning when the website went down... How is that fair? Some games I won, some I lost. DQ is fair because no one gets a benefit from yahoos malfunction. I totally get that, but how is fair to Team A who beat Team B fair and square when both teams were unaffected? That's losing a legitimate victory for that team, when they may need it
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) It's football, you had an entire week to check lineups, unless you were waiting on a player that was a game time decision I don't feel particularly bad for anyone. It was down starting around 11am. That's two hours pre-kickoff. I usually set a "just in case" lineup on Wednesdays but there were several key players listed as game time decisions this week. Yahoo went down about the same time as actives/inactives start rolling in
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) I sent an email to yahoo saying they need to dq all week 10 results because of their bulls***. Kind of bogus people are winning/losing due to a website malfunction. I couldn't make switches I wanted in one of my three leagues and it may cost me (pending MNF) in that one. I was pissed about it, but I can't think of a way to handle it. You just can't DQ all results. That's not fair to the majority of contests that probably were not affected by the outage.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 10:27 AM) Story and breakdowns at link http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prosp...13/2614305.html Definitely a better looking list than we've had recently. No real surprises anywhere on the list either

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 12:57 AM) I might be in the minority here, but I'd like to see a K State-Oregon national title game. Oregon's offense is absurd. I'm praying that is what we get. ND is not that good. They would be blown out by Oregon (or Bama, or LSU, or UGA, or FSU, or UF, or Clemson?, or A&M) in the title game -

What the hell was that phone call at the end there? And are we supposed to believe that Lori's body was eaten by that walker? Rick seems to have lost his mind in that episode. And I'm confused as to why no one has seen Carol - wasn't she right next to an exit last week? I'm thinking there has to be other people somewhere else in that prison and that's where she is
