  1. Andrea is so annoying in the show.
  2. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 10, 2013 -> 12:27 AM) That's wishful thinking. Castillo used to steal 50-60 bags in his prime. Sanchez is not a particularly fast guy, so you are asking him to gain more speed and steal more bases. Think Ryan Theriot, maybe slightly better contact, if he pans out. Honestly, I've never seen him play, so I don't know what kind of speed he possesses, but SB numbers in the minors are not always indicative of a lack of speed. He could just be a poor baserunner, which could be something he improves on seeing as how he is still so young. They both have limited power, they both profile as a 2B, they both seem to be very good contact hitters for a high average and they both are switch hitters. I don't see how a Luis Castillo ceiling is that bad. That doesn't mean he will reach it, but best case scenario I think that is entirely plausible.
  3. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 7, 2013 -> 03:25 PM) Carlos Sanchez made Law's list of Top 100 near misses: That's actually quite a positive review. If he could improve on the base paths he could have a Luis Castillo type ceiling hopefully
  4. Losing at Honduras is not the end of the world, but the US strategy in the game was horrible. They just sat back mostly, didn't look to press or attack and looked lethargic and uninspired. Chandler looked bad, Cameron made a horrible mistake, Gonzalez was sketchy and Klinsmann's choice of starters as well as subs (and timing of) were all suspect. If we get 3 points against Costa Rica we're fine, but it was not the greatest of starts for sure.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 5, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) Fox Sports is grooming Gus Johnson to be the voice of the 2018 World Cup. f*** yeah. Edit: How do you embed videos?
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 5, 2013 -> 12:00 PM) I think the Chiefs are going to try and trade down. Not a great year for it but with rookie salary cap, trading up for #1 isnt so cost prohibitive anymore. I'd love if they could trade down, but are there enough teams willing to part with picks just to trade up in this draft? I still want KC to have a top 10 pick.
  7. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 5, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) Who do you think the Chiefs will take with the #1 spot? As of right now, I think they are looking at trying to acquire a veteran QB (Smith, Vick) and take either Joeckel (if Brandon Albert leaves) or Loutelelei and then take a QB in the 2nd
  8. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Feb 5, 2013 -> 08:46 AM) I would be surprised to see Gonzalez get a cap on Wednesday. I assume the starting pairing is still Cameron-Boca in the center. Experimenting with Cameron-Gonzalez or Gonzalez-Boca in Honduras would be... an aggressive way to start qualifying. Now that Gonzalez is getting called in, I don't think there is much risk of Mexico stealing him (knock on wood). Chandler will certainly get the start without Cherundolo healthy though. If Boca isn't 100% I could see him not playing the whole game. I'm sure Gonzalez won't be starting
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 5, 2013 -> 08:48 AM) I thought they already committed to picking Leon Sandcastle? I want one of those jerseys
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 05:45 PM) Timmy Chandler makes trip to Miami and will go to Honduras. Good news for the US! He and Gonzalez both should be cap tied in this game I would think.
  11. WIth the new NFL year upon us, my Kansas City Chiefs are on the clock! Really excited for workouts and the combine coming up. I think I'm gonna try and make it down to Radio City this year if I can. Also, read that the Chiefs are going to bring Hussain Abdullah for a workout. He's a solid vet who inexplicably retired last year (I think it was for religious reasons?) who KC has first shot at since they have top waiver priority.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) Yea, I got that the first 20 times you said it And despite repeatedly saying it, it still doesn't make it true
  13. Has anyone ever filed an amended tax return? I just found out that the student loan interest on my private loan, that I've never claimed as a deduction, actually could have been claimed all these years. I've always received a 1098 or whatever it's called for the student loan interest on my federal loan, but since I never received anything from my private bank (Citi), I just had assumed it wasn't deductible come tax time. Anyways, I got them to send me my interest dollars paid from the past three years because I was thinking of doing some amended returns. If anyone's done it, is it a hassle? I downloaded the 1040-X forms already but I am going to have to do a full 1040 over again for those years in addition to this?
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) Underappreciated? Didn't it continually get nominated for golden globes and SAG awards and get pretty good viewership? Like I said, it received awards, but never seemed to take off in the public eye, especially compared with other comedies
  15. Sad to see 30 Rock go. One of the more underappreciated comedies in recent memory. It had fantastic and intelligent writing, a great cast and won several awards but never seemed to really take off in terms of popularity. Didn't think it was the best finale possible, but I'll remember it as being one of the favorite sitcoms of the recent past
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 04:37 PM) I don't think it would be worth it! Look at Janikowski. The thing is, in ideal conditions, Janikowski probably has a 65-70 yard leg. It's just teams are too scared of the consequences of a miss from that distance that kickers will never get to attempt it unless it is a unique game circumstance
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 03:46 PM) Have you ever seen people go out and try to kick a FG after it "looks so easy" on TV. I would bet that none of those people would go out and hit one in the first 3 kicks from any distance. Every thanksgiving a bunch of us from high school get together (we're all 27-31) and play a football game. This year we happened to find an actual HS football field available to use. Afterwards we decided to try FGs just messing around. Myself and one other person (we were the only soccer players) were the only ones to make a 35 yarder and half the people couldn't even make one from 25
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 10:23 PM) Anyone have Geico auto insurance? I have State Farm and my rate is too high for no reason. Geico quoted me much lower at same coverage. I have it. No other place has come close to the rates I have through them. I've only had to use it once so far and it was only for a pick-up and tow, but they covered it completely and it was extremely easy and quick as well
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) None of those names is really shocking, right? I've never thought it about Gio
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) Im not sure you can trademark a move. He can trademark the image on a t-shirt or the name. Im thinking the move itself would have to be a copyright. Especially since wrestlers and other athletes have all been doing it for years
  21. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 04:49 PM) Add him to the growing list of failed white sox prospects who were ex college quarterbacks.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 23, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) Thanks, Rock... BTW, anyone have any thoughts on gemstone rings? I really love sapphires... My girlfriend wants a canary diamond. So I'm probably gonna have to make a trip into the diamond district (nyc) pretty soon
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 23, 2013 -> 09:00 PM) I know the US qualifying group is easy talent-wise, but how many other countries have to deal with this? Grant Wahl‏@GrantWahl US State Department considers San Pedro Sula (host of Honduras-USA WCQ) "world's most violent city." Can't wait. Yeah, the Euro snobs don't get just how difficult it is for a non-latin country to go in to Central America and get a result. However, going to places in certain African/Middle East/SE Asia countries, as well as the Balkans and Caucauses, are probably just as daunting/unnerving for visiting nations
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 07:23 PM) Hopefully Manziel stays eligible in order to set up the awesome TAMU/Alabama rematch next year. Huh?
