  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 09:21 AM) Kevin Ware tweeted a pic of his leg (@kevinware_5). Oh. My. God. Reading through his tweets and looking at the account, no way is that him
  2. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) The refs have decided Louisville is going to win. A Louisville player rolled over with the ball and they didn't call a travel. Also hearing the Louisville crowd really points out how the committee did Louisville a massive favor they didn't necessarily deserve. Duke had the better RPI, same amount of losses and won the head to head earlier in the year. Their reward? A semi-road game in the Elite 8. Louisville certainly deserved a No. 1, but it's very hard to argue such a gap between the teams, especially in Louisville's favor. Yet, the crowd seems to be giving them a big edge. Oh come on. There was a shove by a Duke player right before he went to the ground. Plumlee and Kelly got away with hacks inside, Duke got a "not a charge but it was called it anyways" call again, etc... Duke gets more help than any other team in college basketball year in, year out.
  3. You should have waited 6 or 7 hours to make this thread
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 11:32 AM) Didnt know that show was still on. Hadn't heard anyone talking about it. It took like a 3 month break.
  5. Omar was great. Michael Bradley was the best player on the field as well. US did well coming away with a point, which I'll take any day at the Azteca. Other than the PK that probably should have been awarded, Mexico did not do a great job in the final third. They had a few chances that could have been converted but none were sure things. US defense did a great job. 4 points from those first three games is awesome.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) If you are talking about USCF, you need to get down there as soon as the gates open, and be the first people in line. Then it is $10 to get in, first come first serve. That is an addition to whatever you paid for your ticket to get into the ballpark. Ok thanks. Working on planning my midwest trip to Cleveland/Chicago/Milwaukee
  7. What kind of ticket do you need to buy to have access to the patio area above the bar in right field?
  8. US U-20 team drawn with Spain, France and African team to be named later for the Under-20 World Cup this summer. Brutal.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 06:35 AM) Just looking at the 4 teams left in this region make me shake my head. If OSU isn't in Atlanta, you may as wel put Louisville in the title game. MSU/Duke won't be a pushover for them
  10. Costa Rica filed protest for the game to be replayed. As for Mexico, losing Jones hurts. He plays much better than he generally gets credit for from most American fans. Hopefully Klinsmann doesn't try to make up for it by playing an extra DM. Personally, I'd sub Edu in for Goodson at CB since Edu provides more speed and athleticism and insert Kljestan in for Jones to pair with Bradley in the middle. I'd also like to see Shea or even Corona in for Zusi to provide some more width
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 08:24 AM) Tough end of the show for Darryl in Walking Dead. I wonder how Darryl is going to be affected by this. That was a different emotion than we've seen out of him before. After reading the books, I'm pretty sure I know what kind of cliffhanger the show is going to leave on next week.
  12. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Has this been confirmed? QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 03:51 PM) Yeah, this is news to me. And dear lord if they add Wiggins. No. They said they were last night and most people seem to believe them. Cauley-Stein is the only one who mentioned leaving as a possibility. So they absolutely could still leave, but a lot of people seem to be taking their desire to stay seriously. And last I heard on Wiggins is FSU is the favorite.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Kentucky lands Julius Randle to go along with their 5 other 5* players for the 2013 class and unlike the 2012 class which was absolutely horrible nationally, the 2013 class is supposed to be a really strong class. Unfortunately Kentucky will be just fine and likely the overwhelming favorites to win the NCAA title at this time next year, especially if they somehow land Wiggins. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 02:15 PM) It will be interesting to see how they fit all of these kids in. I don't think they are going to have as many kids who are able to make the NBA jump this time around. Goodwin, Poythress and Cauley-Stein are all returning. They are bringing in 6 McDonald's All-Americans. And they also have Wiltjer and Harrow going to be just juniors. These kids are going to want to play right away, and the returnees are not going to want to lose PT to the new kids. I can not believe that that team will be able to coexist amongst itself
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013...io-rape-victim/ Threats over facebook are arrestable offenses? Really? Well sorry Mr. Prosecutor. That pesky Freedom of Speech got in the way. (and yes, I know that some states have those online intimidation/threat laws and I think they're a travesty to free speech rights). Freedom speech has it's limitations, which it should.
  15. I think Wisconsin might have the best chance of any team outside the top 4 seeds of making the Final Four actually.
  16. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 11:56 AM) I may be wrong, but I think Milton is the one who burned the Walkers. I'm about 99% sure that's who did it.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 10:36 AM) I'm sure Milton will "flip" and end up being the one that saves Andrea and/or kills the Governor. This show doesn't do nuance very well and they've been setting up that betrayal for a while. I have to admit, it's been a good few episodes for The Walking Dead. Amazing what can happen when you focus on a few characters and have them do things instead of making sure all 12 cast members can explain what they're feeling for an hour. Though I gotta complain a little - it was really dumb that e (1) Andrea would have ran through an open field, (2) the governor magically knew she was going to an abandoned building and would be inside. Made for good TV though. 1 - Agreed. I yelled at that point actually. And if she had to cross an open field, don't you think she would have gone across a little quicker or tried to be more discreet about it. 2 - I assumed that that abandoned building was on the "path" to the prison and the governor stopped there as a logical "checkpoint" where she may have stopped at since it was in the middle of the night. I'll add though, I thought the prison was much closer to Woodbury. Right? Why did it seemingly take Andrea the rest of the day, plus over night into the next morning, to get there. Are we supposed to assume it's a 12-16 hour walk there?
  18. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 07:05 AM) Sunday's The Walking Dead may have been the most intense episode in a while. The scene with Andrea hiding in the factory from The Governor was particularly suspenseful. I wonder how far they are actually going to go with her being in the chair. Also wondering if Milton will grow a pair before he is killed.
  19. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 09:28 PM) Tough region! More questions for my $50 bracket entry. Here are the games I'd like opinions on for this region. Colorado State (8) - Missouri (9) - I know Col St is tough. Total toss up in my mind. Oregon (12) - Oklahoma State (5) - Classic 12/5 upset? I think Oregon is seeded wrong big time. They are 21-4 with their PG and were 5-5 when he was gone. Memphis (6) - I really don't want to pick Memphis. Give me a good reason why. I like Mizzou. Oregon is basically a 8/9 seed. I think it's a toss-up. I'm taking Memphis over St Marys but if MTSU advances I might pull the trigger with a MTSU upset. Intrastate rivalry. Memphis refused to play them in the past so MTSU will have a chip on their shoulder. Memphis always plays recklessly it seems. They were lucky to beat Southern Miss the other day when I watched the game. Talented, but out of control at times
  20. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) A couple more games I'd like a few .02 on..... VCU (5) - Akron (12) - I'll admit I don't know much about Akron. But Ohio beat Michigan last year and Akron handled Ohio in the MAC final. As tough as VCU is to play, they can struggle to score and if guards can handle the pressure, they are beatable, even by a lesser team. I know VCU is everyone's darling pick, but could this year by Chaka Smart's year to fall to the 12/5 jinx and by higher expectations? San Diego St (7) - Oklahoma (10) - Gut says go chalk, but not for a specific reason. Upsets? Minny over UCLA? UCLA's PG is hurt and won't play. Who the hell knows what you'll get out of Tubby and Co. Florida Gulf Coast over Georgetown? I think G'town plays defense too well, but they can struggle on offense. AND, the last 4 appearances for G'town have ended in losses to double digit seeds. Thoughts? Akron just lost their PG and have to go up against VCU's press. They are going to turn the ball over 20 times. That game will be a rout. SDSU-Oklahoma are two teams I barely saw play at all this year. I'm gonna flip a coin on that one. I also like Minnesota over UCLA. UCLA just lost Jordan Adams and I can just see Shabazz Muhammad mailing it in.
  21. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 07:38 AM) Mississippi is on a roll right now, and Wisconsin's style, while very effective in the BIG, always seems to get them booted early in the tournament. Notre Dame has a habit of losing to double digit seeds. Oh, and I think Boise State has a chance at K-State. 2012: Sweet 16 (4 Seed) 2011: Sweet 16 (4 Seed) 2010: 2nd Round (4 Seed) 2009: 2nd Round (12 Seed) 2008: Sweet 16 (3 Seed) 2007: 2nd Round (2 Seed) They haven't advanced past the Sweet 16 but they don't lose in the first round either. Kind of a misleading response. I'd take Wisconsin over Ole Miss in any bracket I fill out this year.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) Filling out a bracket ($50 entry) and need some insight. Please give me your thoughts on the following games and the odds of an upset. Anything you know about the teams to support your comments would be great. Here are the games for this region I'm looking for further analysis. Montana (13) vs. Syracuse (4) - Note: A 13 has beaten a 4 each of the last 5 years. Is this the one? Marquette (3) vs. Davidson (14) - Is Davidson good enough? Illinois (7) vs. Colorado (10) - Find it interesting that Colorado gets a higher seed than Oregon. Don't know much about Colorado. I'd go with the favorites in all the games. That being said, Montana is a good team. They have several kids that can shoot the three, and Syracuse obviously is famous for their zone so if Montana gets hot they could pull the upset. They recently lost their best player though so that significantly hurts them (probably would have been a 12 seed with him). I'd put their odds of an upset around 10-15% so not high. Davidson is also a good team and Marquette has had some pretty poor games this season, but my gut tells me Marquette is just way too athletic. Better odds of an upset here. ~20%
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 01:31 PM) Duke Georgetown Indiana Ohio State Blasphemer.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 12:39 PM) I like how you think, though I have Ohio State over Gonzaga. I would too, except I have New Mexico facing Gonzaga
