  2. 34 years young born and raised in Chicago.. beautiful St. Thomas More ... moved about 8 years ago to Crestwood..land of the 72% property tax rebate!!!
  3. dan patrick had a caller yesterday say... " nash isn't white, he's Canadian" dan retard should move to san francisco and cover barry bonds. He'd have plenty of material, 'cause everything anti-barry is racist
  4. that's why they run the race.... great to see georgie boy's horse didn't win... and all the horse "insiders" that picked his horse are crying that the race was no good... horses with no business pushing the pace early on "tired" out as did the favorites with the quick pace... and this was a mile and a quarter... how's the field gonna look for the mile and a half belmont???
  5. man soo the THE MAN... love him... he ALWAYS takes care of my family and me...
  6. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ May 9, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Hey all -- don't know why I'm sharing this here but I figure I should, haha. For all those who get the Herald News (Joliet, etc.) -- be sure to look for me as one of the new op ed columnists for this upcoming set of columnists. I got the phone call this afternoon that they want me to start writing for them this summer. I'm still in shock that they actually liked the two test columns that I sent in.
  7. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ May 9, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Maybe I am too synical about this, but I find this VERY interesting for several reasons. WGN almost NEVER gives weekday primetime programming to baseball (Cubs or Sox) because they are too busy airing WB crap. However, they are willing to give time to the SOX (not owned by Trib Co) on a THursay night when the sox just "happen" to be playing a home game against the O's who just "happen" to employ Sammy Sosa. Anyone else find it a little fishy that Trib Co wants to air Sosa's home comming? I see two reasons here: 1) They want to cash in on Sosa Ass lickers watching the game to see perfect Sammy 2) They want to show that the Cubs are better off without Sammy. Baseball isn't about $$$
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) There is no exact way to get #'s without relying on the White Sox... 10-4 ... I was just wondering if ticketmaster put out info like that.. thanx...
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) They have talked about this a couple of times in terms of total attendance. Over the weekend, Brooks said they were looking at over 25K for two games, and over 30K for the other two. It isn't a stretch to imagine a sellout or two if we keep it going and get good weather. is there a way to get the exact #'s or are you just relying on the sox PR guy's?
  10. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:00 AM) This weekend we should finally hear positive discussion about Sox attendance. Just checked and here's what things look like for the series: Thursday - lower bowl sold out Friday - some lower level seats deep in the corner Saturday - only upper deck way down the line is available Sunday - lower bowl sold out It should add up to 120,000+ for the 4 game set. where'd ya get these #'s ???
  11. QUOTE(Goldmember @ May 6, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) linky if criminals were smart this would be a dangerous world...
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) http://betoniraq.com/ interesting idea... but i'd rather go to one of the larger banks in chicago that handle foreign currency and buy the dinar... I'd rather not take them out of their position...
  13. here's my pick... some notes of disclaimer... although I think I know alot about horses, there is alot I don't know... the last derby winner I had was Real Quiet and Lil E Tee before that... so don't risk too much $$$ on my picks... on to the pick... after sifting thru the ballemy road love I've chosen a long-shot... GREELEY"S GALAXY... bellemy road and bandini have posts next to each other so I'm hoping they distract each other and become non-factors... Greeley's Galaxy has been working out poorly, I attribute that to learning a new track, and I'm hoping by Saturday he feels more comfortable... I also like santa anita derby winner, Buzzards Bay... but, he didn't arrive till wednesday so officially my call is Greeley's Galaxy to win... Buzzards Bay to place... I would bet zito's coupling if there is one , but only to show... ( trainers who have more than one horse in a race often get "coupled"... kind of like a field bet, where you get more than one horse...) Noble causeway looks good and I would bet him to show especially if he is coupled... in closing... 1st Greeley's Galaxy 2nd Buzzards Bay 3rd Noble Causeway Gambling Problem???
  14. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:00 AM) I would like to see A Rod on the Sox but the Boss would have to pick up an insane amount of that contract... so it would never happen... cause arod got the mariners/rangers/yankees to the world series??? the guy's a jinx...
  15. hope he keeps his politics to himself saturday night when I'm gonna see U2 at the UC...
  16. having trouble sorting through the horses... seems that the press is all over bellamy road.. he looks like a great horse... but I have some reservations about taking a horse the press loves so much... then I looked at who owns Bellamy road... hey George Steinbrenner owns Bellamy Road.. which would explain the media love for this horse... it looks like a solid mount... I just NEVER take a favorite in the derby... smarty jones last year was a fav... then fusili pegasus(sp?) in 2000 and before that ???? it has been a while since a favorite won... interesting that there are no foreign horses... I wonder if this has to do with the sheik that passed away a few years back... or if they finally realized that horses don't like boats or planes and never race the same after they come across the pond...
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Dude, Bracey leaving is good news IMO. Yes, he won single-handedly won a lot of games for us, but he single-handedly lost more games for us. single-handed was the problem IMO... he was a BALL HOG... why waste the other four guys time... just let bracey do everything...

    Cinco De Mayo

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) So the question is... WITHOUT SEARCHING, how many people know what Cinco de Mayo celebrates? Mexican independence from Spain... ???
  22. QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) I was at the game last night. We won. I don't care if there are 5 people or 35,000 people in the stands. I don't decide weather to love a team based on their popularity with the casual fan that doesn't even know what teams are playing. The less fans the easier it is for me to get: Beer. Churros. Hot Dogs. Corn w/lime, butter, salt, red pepper, butter, mayo, etc. Steak Pitas. ...and bathroom breaks without waiting in line. IN MY OPINION I think the casual fan is the issue... casual fans havn't been showing up why not ????? Cause they are SO BITTER THEIR TEAM IS IN A TAILSPIN... to some extent the sox need cub fans to get hugh attendence... big walk-up numbers for night games usually follow cub day games... the high and mighty cub fans will not at this point give the sox the time of day... they would when the cubs are doing well... but since the cubs are so pathetic their fans cannot admit baseball is underway... so in a nutshell I blame the cubs... kick 'em when they are down..... no lines for the bathroom are awesome!!!
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 5, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) Hermanson realized who really saved last night's game... gooch... two AWESOME plays to get the first two outs in the ninth...
