QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) "Remove the medal of triumph, and attach the medal of shame" Could we have a bigger threat to our national security that a walking sieve attached at the hip of our president? yes, we could have a bigger threat... it's called the new york times

QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) Well done, this is the "locals" way to get there without all the expressway traffic. Don't tell too many people though, then it won't be a secret anymore. I've given these directions out to my sister-in-law and she got lost... she turned around on central cause she said there wasn't a car for miles... ??? other people have told me it is too hard and like to take 1-80 to harlem... this route is awesome for me ... it takes me about 20 min...
-
I take central south to flossmore road then west on flossmore rd... central from 167th to flossmore is forest preserve and the limit is 40 and you will see NO cars.. exit 57 at 159 or 167 and go west to central then south to flossmore rd... tickets are sold out and two brokers I checked with don't have tix... thankfully I got my lawn seats weeks ago... plan on being there after the customary 11:00pm... petty likes to pay tinley park $$$ ... last time he played till midnight, and I think the fine is $10000 for every 15 minutes past 11:00 pm... he actually bragged about paying the fine about 11:30 and kept playing... PETTY RULES!!!!

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) It is easy to enforce--I've never seen any trouble with this in my time in New York. Nor do I understand how this would play into corruption. And, given the rising cost of medical care, and it's effect on taxpayers, I would say that it IS a very pressing issue for the city and its constituents. how does it play into corruption? you pay off the inspector... medical costs... good point...
-
this idea is unreasonable... how does the city expect to enforce this ban without any corruption? will they send out inspectors? they can't inspect every wooden porch how will they inspect every bar? what happens if they go into englewood bars and not gold coast bars??? this plan is just trouble waiting to happen... what's next ya can't drink beer in bars? if smoking is that bad for you WHY IS IT LEGAL AT ALL??? btw I'm a non-smoker this will only hurt the city cause the smokers will go to the suburbs, and the corruption/payoffs will further tarnish the city... what if a bar advertises itself as a "smoking bar" ya don't want to breath it.. stay out.. it is important to note that aldermen/alderwomen still smoke in their offices in city hall, and smoking in office buildings has been banned for a few years now... aren't there more pressing issues facing the chicago city council

No pizza for you June 11 2003 A Danish pizzeria owner who refused service to French and German tourists because their governments didn't back the US-led war in Iraq was convicted of discrimination today. Aage Bjerre, who owns a pizzeria on western Denmark's Fanoe island, was investigated by police after he wouldn't serve Germans and French. He called them "anti-American". In February, Bjerre displayed two home-made pictograms with bars through images of people coloured in the hues of the French and German flags. He also reprinted his menus to eliminate German translations. A Danish court fined Bjerre 5,000 kroner ($1,200) or said he could spend a week in jail. "I will not pay. I'll do the time," Bjerre told The Associated Press. "I feel that I was convicted for supporting the coalition." However, he said he would appeal the decision, despite offers from supporters to pay the fine. "Every day I turn tourists down, but my conscience is doing fine," he said, adding he has received more than 200 letters from around the world offering support, including letters from "nearly every single state in the United States". "That means a lot more to me than losing money," he said, adding he's lost nearly 50,000 kroner ($12,000) because of a drop in business and repairing vandalism to the shop's front. The island, 320 kilometres south-west of the capital, Copenhagen, is a popular spot for visitors from neighbouring Germany. Of the approximately 100,000 tourists who come, some 60 per cent are German. The others are mostly Scandinavians and Dutch. There are few French visitors to the island, which has a year-round population of 3,300. AP

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...i-sportsnew-hed Wickers reported missing Jim Walsh, RedEye Published July 13, 2005 Longtime Cubs fan Ronnie "Woo Woo" Wickers, known for his "Cubs, woo!" chant at Wrigley Field, was reported missing Tuesday, according to police. The 63-year-old was reported missing by his wife. He was last seen June 29 wearing a Cubs cap and a Cubs uniform, police spokeswoman Patrice Harper said. She said Wickers is "a habitual" missing person who "usually returns in about two weeks." His wife also reported his disappearance in October 2002. Wickers was home 12 days later, saying he felt ill and had decided to spend a few days out of town with friends out of state. In 1987 there were rumors Wickers had been murdered after missing some early season games. He was later found working as a pizza deliveryman and explained he couldn't attend the games because of his job.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) It's even harder to prove it against a public figure. Klein's book is basically nothing but a summary of a bunch of other poorly-sourced allegations that were tossed out against the Clintons over the years. For some great fun, you can hear Klein himself fall apart during his appearance on the Al Franken show last week when Al (shocking!) called him on factual mistakes. this interview was funny... why did they bother to bring in klein? al and joe conason could have attacked him without wasting his time...

so basically nobody's read it...

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) Kinda related, this s*** happens downtown ALL the time. The person right in front of you gets off an escalator or out of revolving doors and just f***IN STOPS RIGHT THERE, cuz they don't know which way to go. So, you come out right behind them and are trying not to bump into them while also trying to not be run over from behind by the next person. same thing going in... people walk to the door, instead of thru the door...

I just wanna shove the person off... if the conversation is that important... finish it and wait for the next car!!!

QUOTE(GoArow33 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) Yeah definitly just got done speaking with the police. They came over and saw it, and they're giving us a free power wash. Turns out the policeman grew up a Sox fan on the southside. And the White Sox flag is flying as high as it can right now (on the top of my basketball hoop!) haha. Yeah, I'm headed to the cell pretty soon. I think this is a good omen of things to come. ah... the city that works...

Pretty much watered down hydrochloric acid, vicious stuff. then with the left over hcl... pour some in a empty plastic two liter bottle and add some strips of aluminum foil screw the cap on and walk away... an open space would be recommended 'cause it's gonna blow...
