  4. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Nothing will ever be as magical like the first home game back from that road trip in 2000. After we spanked the Indians and the Yankees, going 8-0 on that trip, the Monday night home crowd was electric!! The spontaneous standing ovation that occured during the old White Sox sonata was incredible. Sox Pride was at it's peak! We can repeat that again this season, when the time is right. great game... the crowd cheering for every third out.. truely an experience.. although it biased me in favor of kip wells... I still like kip..... as far as attendence... for some reason friday (versus other days of the week) games are poorly attended... don't know why??? I like weekend games more, but who am I...
  5. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Im willing to trade 2 great seats to the yankees game on Aug19th for 2 Cubs tickets... let me know is anyone is intersted you're better off watching the yankees...
  6. There is nothing to see on the southside. Please cease and decist all coverage of the southside ( name omitted to protect the innocent) MLB club. There is enough entertainment on the other side of town, entertainment that the whole world is waiting with baited breath to experience. The world needs to know how many pitches randy johnson threw last night. The world needs to know if curt schilling will ever wear clean socks again. The world needs to know pedro martinez is pitching against john smoltz. With all these very important issues that the public needs to know, I believe it would be in your (the media) best interests to prioritize coverage anyway. Just put the southside ballclub at the bottom of your list, the very bottom. I want to go to my favorite ballpark with no more than 20000 fans. If you (the media) start to tell the truth, I won't be able to afford a ticket to my favorite park. All the johnny-come-marriotti's will be buying up the tix, and that is the last distraction the southside club needs at this time. I want to go to my favorite ballpark and enjoy a beer or two. If you (the media) start to tell the truth, I may get caught up in some frat party drinking game with amatuers who are getting drunk for the first time. I want to go to my favorite ballpark and enjoy baseball. If you (the media) start to tell the truth, the park and club may gain credibility, and who knows the damage this could cause. In closing, given the demands of day to day life, I believe it is up to you, the media, to ignore those pesky southsiders, and keep giving us the important stuff, like mia hamm day and if barry bonds will ever take steriods ( I mean play baseball) again. There is nothing to see on the southside. Respectively submitted sec159row2.......
  7. QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/042105_ns_hyde.html what happened to this story??? drudge had a link to it that was expired...

  9. Ozzie is dumb as a fox... nobody cares about crede/garland making an impact.. nobody cares about how good the whole pitching staff is doing... all the lights are on ozzie and I think it is great... have you heard any "baseball" comments from the players??? all the newspaper articles have their comments about ozzie/mags, but virtually nothing on the game... keeping the press off the players back's and carrying the whole load is great keep up the good work .... Ozzie is dumb as a fox...

    Going Nuclear

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) according to Cheney: This is scary This may destroy 200 years of tradition in the senate just to get an extra 10 judges appointed... I personally just think this is disgusting. Nothing like this has ever happened before, why does Cheney think he can manipulate the way politics have been since the country's creation? what are you guys' thoughts? why don't we vote on such important positions? and then give judges such carte blance??? presidents know they can extend their legacy thru judges, so why do they have that authority... btw, I don't agree with what most of the democratic senators do anyway, but in the same breath I don't think the president should have this authority...
  11. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) I really f***ing hate some people that I come into contact with where I work. First, a particular assignment was not supposed to be due for 6 weeks. Then I get an email that it was needed yesterday. Ok, deep breath I do the f***ing s*** requested and then more information that wasn't requested is needed all of a sudden. :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou Oh, and not to mention, my review was supposed to have been done a couple weeks back and instead my boss is let go and no review and hence no raise. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! welcome to earth..

  13. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Math in Iowa must be different. You need to be 21 to drink in this state. another example how people don't pay attention...
  14. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) now that would be great, He is stuck in Oregon in a little town called Priceburg it must be a drag. pacific northwest might not be as warm and sunny as the caribbean
  15. i guess judging by the length of this thread everyone's having a really busy day :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) It suprises me because we as Sox fans take pride in being very knowledgeable. By seeing what I saw on Tuesday night gave me the feel that we are attracting more "Cub fan types". People that are not going primarily to the game to watch the game, but rather to have a good time or party atmosphere. I don't want our park to be full of these "wrigley types". I like the fact that our fans love the game and like to watch the game. What I saw on Tuesday night is something I have not seen before at a Sox game. It was half priced night and maybe that has something to do with it. However, reading all the comments made on this board it seems as though this is the way Sox fans are. It is very disappointing to me. you're probably a blast to hang out with at the southsideirish parade... cause everybody watches the parade and only go to western for the parade.. ..
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) You made it clear that if it was that bad I would have posted much sooner. Yes, to me that is telling me when to post, because to you I waited too long to post. whatever... you still missed my point that CLUELESS PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE... why does it surprise you that clueless people would be at a sox game??? and like I said this doesn't make it right that people walked in front of you...
  18. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) I was talking with Barons Hitting coach Gregg Ritchie and Wally Came up and he said that Wally now works with a company that runs charter fishing boats. I can't believe the fall he has taken since Nov 2nd when he was on top of the world. Ritchie was the new D-backs hitting coach until Wally was fired. I think he will be coaching again soon/ what if those charter fishing boats are in the caribbean???
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) I do remember you stating that if it was that bad I would have vented sooner: I guess what you are saying is that I am taking this comment the wrong way? so i guess i told you when to post..... :banghead
  20. at least now we know his injury... diahhrea of the mouth ... 4-6 weeks
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) Please don't tell me when to post. I have other things to attend to other than this message board. If you don't know that people have other things going on in their life than this message board then maybe you should get out of the house more often. Thursday at 4 PM was the time I had after my awful experience at the game. I have never encountered this at a Bears game and I have been to plenty of them. I am not trying to watch a live game at trains, or stores of any kind. TVs are pretty high at bars, so I highly doubt it will blck my view if someone is walking in front of me. I could see if I was on here constantly complaining about things wrong with the sox or their stadium or people in general, however I never have. I have always liked the stadium, I have never had a problem like this in the past, and I have never complained about the Sox organization. I am not a constant complainer. You would think that when someone that does not complain a lot has a complaint it would be taken more seriously. However, it seems as some people love to be self centered and will continue to be so. i don't remember "telling you when to post" i do remember telling you there are clueless people everywhere...
  22. Angel Berroa's single drove in Mike Sweeney in the ninth to put Kansas City ahead briefly. Sweeney arrived at home the same time as left fielder Ford's three-hop throw, crashing into Mike Redmond and forcing the dazed catcher out of the game with bruised ribs.... did anyone see this... sweeney pummeled the twins catcher... thanks mike... it was great...
