White Sox @ Indians - Opening Day Game Thread
For any of you who want to voice frustration, go rip on the umpires on The Score, I will laugh my ass off as I sit here listening to the seemingly petty arguments that are made. Or, call me up at my show and I'll listen to you vent, 217.581.3343. Good effort today, White Sox. There's a lot of good positive things to take from today's game!

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Laugh all you want and I'm sure you'll all drill me for this, but I'm okay with that. There's a lot of positives from this game and I'm not going to get angry just because a few calls didn't go our way. Perhaps some people shouldn't have gotten jammed and tried to eke out hits like they did.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) You didn't see the game. Until you do, you really don't know what people are upset about. No, I did see the game, I left right after the inning for my radio show, and I wasn't upset in the slightest bit. I just don't get angry at the umpires because the calls are "in their judgment."

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) That would be 10-7 Indians. What happened? I'm actually very happy with today's game. The team showed that they could come back and they very well could still come back and prove us all wrong. It ain't over till it is over; please do not go after these umpires with fire and pitchforks.

Uh, for those who may not have the score right now, what is it, why are people s***ting a brick and why are the razor blades coming out?

Crede sucks. Also, has anyone noticed that the strike zone is changed a bit this season? I guess that new system they are using is changing the zone a bit.

I love the club level footlong Polish dogs, those are outstanding. Although, where the fundamentals deck and club level meets, those people are a bunch of deuche bags, they won't let you exit through there, I almost walked out and just was like, "Screw you" because it just does not make sense as to why one cannot exit out there since it is convenient too. Anyway, off on a tangent, it was just something that pissed me off at the ballpark last year.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 10:39 AM) Indeed, I think it's unquestionable fact that a girl can become more attractive if you find her to be a great person as you get to know her better. I agree with you. Also, sometimes I think the mindset of some guys is really shallow. "Oh, she's got a great body, or she's totally hot, (usually after saying I'd bang her) let's go after her because she's hot." Well, that may be all "college-esque" of the guy, but why not go ahead and go on a date with a girl and get to know her somewhere outside of just with friends. Sometimes I think people who go out with friends and their date more than they actually date might actually hurt their chances of getting to know a person. Around here, I see the most pathetic of relationships, some abusive and some just flat out physically sexual. Honestly, what is the point of that? I've been dating my girlfriend for almost 3 years and I certainly have gotten to know her instead of just thinking, "Oh, she's hot, lets bang her and move on." Even at college I think things have gotten better and she and I have gotten more close than ever before. It just saddens me that a majority of the people here (at least on my floor or on campus) are just about physical relationships. The other day I was talking to my friend in the elevator and I was like, "Yeah, she's in France right now, but that's okay, I'm doing pretty good regardless." A guy in the elevator randomly says, "I thought the rule was if she or you were out of the area code, you guys could do whatever you want with whomever you want." I guess it all comes from what your values and beliefs are, and how you were raised, but I don't know, maybe I'm just at a different point in my life than other individuals, and to be honest, I'm really happy that I am, since I find that lifestyle to be quite pathetic.

Best and Worst Sox trades.
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 02:20 AM) Not even close. While Wells and Fogg aren't doing much any more, they're both still in the league, and at least both had a couple solid seasons, which could have helped us a lot in 2002 through 2004. It definitely was a wash for the Sox and Pittsburgh, which is what I meant.

Best and Worst Sox trades.
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 28, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) Durham for Adkins. Hooo boy. I never really understood this trade, Durham wasn't that overpriced and I figured he had some good years left in him for the Sox before he moved onto SF and stayed there for awhile. By the way, what has Reed done for Seattle that was that great? The Ritchie deal was a wash. I was pretty angry when Fogg was traded and when Sirotka was traded for Wells. I loved Sirotka.

I'm glad to see some of the gentlemen here agree with me on natural beauty. I personally find fake tanning to be disgusting and as I said, my girlfriend looks beautiful without any makeup. Hell to me, she looks beautiful if she's sick at home in her pajamas and we're just watching TV. It really doesn't matter---I have always agreed that it is what is on the inside that makes the girl beautiful. Speaking of which, I was walking to class today and I could pick out at least three girls who had boob jobs, it was kind of sad because they all looked as if they were 18 years old---I don't know, there's something that doesn't make surgery right for that age, or well, I don't know, why do you need to get implants, honestly?

Societies view of beauty is very shallow these days. I know when I was overhearing some individuals on our floor talking about some girls the other day, they described her curves and how orange her skin was. It is pathetically sad that this is how some people find beauty to be today. To be honest, my girlfriend doesn't do any of this make-up crap and to me still looks beautiful. I've always loved her eyes and smile, that's what made her beautiful to me, she doesn't need make-up or to fix her hair or wear skanky clothing to appeal to me. I just wish that other gentlemen would see true beauty without having things to do with the body, the altering of skin and the excessive use of make up. No wonder eating disorders are huge in this country---it is actually sickening to see some of these girls at school, some have such skinny arms and are purely orange that it makes me wonder what they looked like without all of the crap on.

I just don't see why Crede is considered the better third baseman on the team by Kenny's standards. It doesn't make sense to me one bit.

QUOTE(heirdog @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) If we DFA Massett, is he a FA and can sign anywhere or does he go through a waiver priority system? And if its waivers, can we still work out a deal with another team? I'm not sure, but who would want his sorry ass? Edit: He got out of the inning with surrendering one run in a bases loaded jam.
-
ARI @ CWS, 3/27, 2:05pm CT
Masset better not be on our Opening Day roster, he can't get anybody out. Keep Wassermann on the team and tough it out with a lack of a long reliever. Uribe's throw was terrible. A ball went over Swisher's head but I didn't see an "error."
-
The joke that is KW and the White Sox
I just am curious about the makeup 25-man roster and if KW keeps Masset over Wassermann, which potentially could be a truly stupid move.

3/25 roster rumbles
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) I remember the rumored trade with Dye to Boston last year for Wily Mo and a pitcher, and I hated that idea. But now since then, I so wish that trade would have happened. Right, so sometimes I wish people on this board would see that we have opportunities to trade our crap for spare parts, which may not be a horrible idea at times.
