QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) One I think that is a certainty is "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." And thank God for that. I love Queen dearly, but even to this day I am tired of people covering that damn song. I love the Queen version...but come on. Oh, I just realized, I have no choice but to miss tomorrow night. I'll record it just in case I hear something decent on the recap show though.

QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) everyone's crazy in this world but us jas. I need to get in on this. Chewy bagged cookies are just friggin' creepy. If I make cookies here at home, they DO NOT stay chewy. The only way to keep them chewy is with some freaky chemicals. Give me a good ol' crunchy cookie any day of the week. Crunchy Chips A Hoy are great. Yes, the original Famous, before the buy-out, were the greatest store bought cookie.

Pool sober, darts drunk. Leadbelly or Willie McTell?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:15 AM) For cheap quaffing, it's the first beer I drank with friends . . . Justin boots are coming close. Most comfortable footwear, ever. And the first beer you drank with enemies would be??? Footwear, I'm about to go exclusive creepers, and probably TUK. The shoes I'm wearing now are almost dead, and TUK seems to now have an affordable style finally. I have one pair, but they get worn very rarely. Nothing more comfy than a good creeper. Oh, but in the summer I wear Converse Chuck's for my tenny pumps.

I used to only buy Dean Markley guitar strings. But then I got my new guitar last year and the only strings that fit it that I can find are Gibson L-5's. I only use Ridata DVD-R's, but only because they have given me the least problems. I prefer Energizer batteries, but only because as a kid for some reason I loved the Eveready logo. But in my house there are Rayovac's and Duracel. Eh, I'm not too picky about things. I used to smoke Marlboro Lights though, and if I started smoking again I would probably go back to them. But I doubt that would happen. I'm partial to Toho for my dai kaiju. I'm a huge fan of the classic Epiphone line of guitars. I am also a HUGE fan of Hagstrom guitars, and any new guitars I buy from now on will be Hagstrom. I love my vintage Hag, and am dying to get the new ones.

Man, with all the love for those guys, maybe I need to give them another chance.

I know the article mentions it, but I don't know why any of us (or anybody else for that matter) would care about or question what she was wearing. That's what I was talking about. As for how it got into the article, maybe the police asked her, maybe a neighbor saw her, maybe somebody asked. Maybe the newspaper said "and what were you wearing at the time", who knows. It could come to light in numerous was other than her telling the story to the paper and saying "oh, and I was wearing this cute bikini I got from K-Mart that day...". Heck, maybe the freak made mention to her of her bikini and in relating the story to the paper she said "he also said he loved my bikini". Heck, maybe even "don't rake too hard, a boob might pop out of that bikini". He commented on her "working too hard".

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) Like I said, you have to take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I've never been a fan of theirs. On a different topic, I see that the Didjits have reunited and will play the Hideout Block Party in September. I may have to drag myself out there to see that. The Didjits are back? Is this temporary or did Simms finally kill off The Gaza Strippers? I told you my connection to them, right?

Maybe she was wearing shorts with a bikini top. He turned up the A/C in the house, so I am guessing it was hot. Women are allowed to wear bikini tops when it's hot out.

Good Lord, if that's "Goth", then the girls I used to date must have actually been dead!!!

Actually, Paul Galaxy does a Rockabilly version of "Fat Bottom Girls" that is friggin' amazing. But I'm a Rockabilly fanatic, so that helps it. But his guitar playing on it is amazing. http://www.paulgalaxy.com/

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) I don't know if I can stomach watching that either. I do not watch AI, but I might tune in for a few minutes here and there just to see what songs they select. I fear for any of them that think they can take on a "Freddy" song. I have yet to really like any of the Queen remakes I have heard. I agree 100%!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 07:23 AM) Sweetest Day, it's better to give than receive Bath Gel or Bar Soap? The gel/liquid stuff. Celtic with a "K" or Celtic with a "S"?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 07:19 AM) Columbian Mardi Gras or Carnival? I don't trust the people that operate the rides at canival's, and I have never been to Mardi Gras...so... ***green only because I know you mean the "Mardi Gras" like party...but I really don't trust Carnies...even if they are related to Brian Wilson***

I love the music of Queen, and they are one of the HUGE reasons I started playing seriously way back in '77. It's also the reason I am torn on if I will watch the show or not. I am not so sure I can watch these people butcher the songs, as pretty much all of them will do. I have a feeling Chris will do "Stone Cold Crazy" because he knows Metallica's version. Bucky will probably shoot for "Tie Your Mother Down", "Fat Bottomed Girls" or something of the sort. I expect Ace will go for "Bohemian" so he can use his eyebrows to their fullest extent. Mercury did do a ton of fancy vocal stuff, but there is also plenty in the catalogue to do. Remember, Brian sang quite a bit of stuff also, and Roger Taylor's voice would actually suit somebody like Bucky quite well, so Bucky could even do "I'm In Love With My Car" or "Fight From The Inside" and get away with it. Let's just see one of these hacks attempt "Mustapha".

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) Digital (damn that is tough) Glasses or Contacts? Glasses. I hate contacts. But I am planning to go under the laser soon...hopefully. King Kong '33, King Kong '76 or King Kong '05?

You scare me Mike. Nice prediction with the final result.

I thought Ace sucked. Chris was good. I hate the song Kellie did to begin with, though my wife loves it. Yuck. Paris cheated by doing what is essentially a Pop song. It was slightly Country when Faith Hill did it, and it was total Pop when Lee Ann Rimes did it. Taylor atleast did an older song. Everybody else just went to Country Top 100 from the past 5 friggin' years. I liked how Kenny Rogers was being honest, and more times than not was basically saying "so and so sucks". I agreed with Simon, I also don't like Country, atleast not Country Pop. Though I did kind of like the song Bucky did, just not his singing.

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) Funny... I thought of Queen albums. Maybe I did also. Nah, just due to the song "39" I would have chosen "Night At The Opera". Plus "Prophets Song" gets the vote.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) The 3 Marx Bros. Threads being hijacked by a bunch of old rock-wannabe's or a swift kick in the testes? Atleast "Old Rock Wannabe's" know when the Marx Bros. were perfection.

Day At The Races The 4 Marx Bros. or The 3 Marx Bros.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) I haven't, but somebody else told me it was worth listening to. Does she get back to the three chord song structures and rough rocker vocals, or is it more along the lines of her later, more melodic (=boring) stuff? It's a mix, but when she does step back to tearing it up, she does it in a way that shows who still has the coolest attitude. Joan Jett? Forget it. The title track alone is worth the price.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) lace. Leather or Pinky (Tuscadero, that is)? On a related note: Anybody listen to the new Suzi Quatro CD, "Back To The Drive"? By far her best since her best material of the early 70's.
