  1. Only problem is it looks like a teaser poster for a sequel, since it just looks like a giant roman numeral without seeing the tops of the buildings.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 10:21 AM) I see a lot of people go through the quick peck and "love ya" routine as they're parting company with their spouses. It never looks very sincere, it looks routine. But don't you think it depends on the people? My wife knows me, and even though it might be a quick peck and "love ya", she knows it takes a lot for me to even shake hands with a person. I place very little trust in anybody, and I do NOT like any physical contact with people, even close friends. So she knows that anytime I give a quick peck, or say something of the sort, it means a lot.
  3. QUOTE(FoxySoxGirl @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) This may ruin the point of the question, but I don't think it's so much the amount that matters, it's how much you mean it. To say it just to say it daily is one thing, but to tell someone you "love them to death" and then the next week say "well maybe not" kind of takes away the impact. Just an example of course, and kind of extreme..but you get the point I don't believe you can tell anybody too much, especially your kids. I've been telling my wife it everyday for 12 years now, and I bet she would say that it hasn't worn off. It means something everytime, but certains it means a little more.
  4. A guy I work with just left the company to go be with the girl he has had a 4 year online relationship with. I/we work in Crystal Lake, he was in Cary. Illinois. The girl he moved in with and the place he relocated to? Indonesia.
  5. Wife, daughter, son, many times through the day. Plus lots of hugs and kisses. I won't part company with any of them without telling them, or without a hug and a kiss. The dog I call an "idiot" though. I also make my own cards. Have ever since I was a little kid.
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) Did they all need to be blind? Those are their names. That's what they were known as. I guess I could be "PC" and finally drop the names they used for their whole lives, but since none of the "die-hard" Blues fans I know of drop the names...why should I? If you ever get a chance, listen to McTell's "Library Of Congress" recordings. In them a fairly racist John Lomax tries to get Willie to play some "complainin' songs" and seems quite confused on which "Blind Willie" he has with him. Due to those questions, and his looking for "Slave songs", it is obvious he thinks he has Willie Johnson, as McTell never did any of the "Slave songs" Lomax wants to hear. But through out the whole session, McTell comes shining through as a well spoken, articulate, and complete gentleman. IMO, McTell was the best all around of all the old Blues guys.
  7. I prefer the old Delta stuff. Give me Mississippi Fred McDowell, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House. That's the stuff man. Guys like McTell and Blind Willie Johnson were lightyears ahead of their times.
  8. Antihistamine's are actually pretty nasty things. I've got high blood pressure, and I'm not allowed to go near anything with them in it. So if he had a heart condition, they could be really bad I would guess.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 04:20 PM) Am I the only one who thinks doing that to this kid (clearly the parent knew what was coming) was just plain mean? No way I could do that. No, you are not alone. I wonder how old the kid is. I'm thinking 8-10 years old. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) I bet he didn't expect the kid to break down crying the way he did. Although he continues to follow him around with the camera, lol. And then somebody decided to release it to the internet. Somebody is in need of an asskicking.
  10. Section 1. White Room - Cream vs. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan vs. Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix vs. When the Levee Breaks- Led Zeppelin Section 2. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen vs. Baba O'Reilly - The Who Pinball Wizard - The Who vs. Street Fighting Man - The Rolling Stones A Day in the Life - The Beatles vs. Dream On - Aerosmith As for the Hendrix thingy...he doesn't even do the best version of that song. Check out Michael Hedges acoustic version on Live On The Double Planet. That is a friggin' KILLER version of that tune. I actually find the choosing getting much easier. Though I agree with the "weak" greatest classic tunes comment.
  11. That's a HUGE shame. RIP Peter, thanks for some really good books, and one of the finest movies ever made!
  12. Section 1. No Time - Guess Who vs. White Room - Cream While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles vs. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynard vs. Strawberry Field Forever - The Beatles Ticket to Ride - The Beatles vs. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy vs. Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones A Day in the Life - The Beatles vs. All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Section 2. Surrender - Cheap Trick vs. When the Levee Breaks- Led Zeppelin Dream On - Aerosmith vs. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen Street Fighting Man - The Rolling Stones vs. Thunderstruck - AC/DC Stay With Me - The Faces vs. Pinball Wizard - The Who Crazy Train - Ozzy Osborne vs. Baba O'Reilly - The Who Much, much, much easier this time out.
  13. Aerosmith up until Joe Perry left is friggin' GREAT. "Sick As A Dog" is one of the greatest songs ever written. Greatful Dead...well...
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) The bodies were discovered days after the murder (decomposing) and they needed the autopsy to determine cause and time. O.K., that makes sense. The one article I read said that autopsy proved the mom died of a gun shot to the head. I just thought "ya know...I don't have a college degree, or a job in the field, but I bet I could figure that one out".
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:39 AM) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11252372/ Autopsy results showed both the mother and daughter had been shot to death with a small-caliber gun. The bodies were found under layers of blankets in a bed in their home, about 30 miles west of Boston. I just find that weird. Why is an autopsy needed?

    MJ cut off...

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) How old is Prince Abdullah? Maybe Mike tried to get him to sleep over....or maybe they got offended when he called it "Jesus Juice".... As long as he doesn't draw any pictures of the juice...I think all would have been O.K.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) Since very few people actually are mentionning the awards, I think I will... If U2 was going to win for any of their recent albums, it should have been for "All that you can't leave behind", which was not only a better album than "How to dismantle an atomic bomb", but also had weaker competition (The O Brother where art thou soundtrack won somehow). I love that soundtrack...and hate modern U2...makes sense to me that it won.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) There's less crying and dream crushing at karaoke. I guess, but some of those people are just as delusional. Don't spend your time watching it, nobody is forcing you to. AI is an evil creation, but no more evil than the actual industry. I will also watch AI because in some way that stupid show will bring the music industry to its knees, and nothing could make me happier. It's so high profile, that eventually all the "dirt" will spill out once all our "stars" are no longer under contract. Hell, already Clay has become a bit of an "ugly" word for that show, since he hired a lawyer to help him escape the contracts.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) I don't know how American Idol is so popular, it's no different than going out to a local establishment for karaoke night, other than Idol has a smart ass British guy. Right at this point, that is EXACTLY why it is popular. People love seeing this train wreck thing. I LOVE bad bands and musicians, and I love bad karaoke. It kills me, much in the same way that people love "bad" movies such as the stuff Ed Wood made. AI is my Plan 9 From Outer Space, in all honesty.

  23. Happy B-day you weird furry thing!
  24. Heck, somebody should post this, though very few will care here. From Bob Eggleton on Yahoo Groups: He scored all of the best Godzilla music, and came up with the sound for his voice. Plus he was said to have scored around 700 movies. The man was amazing, and just retired two years ago. Oh...and he never won a Grammy.
