Thanks for sharing the stories gang! This is the type of stuff that has to make you believe somewhat. What does anybody achieve by telling these tales if they are all BS, especially here on a site like this? Two good videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2-6N6akjto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eA4U01GloQc&NR

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) I saw a UFO up in rural Michigan two summers ago. I really don't like to tell the story in person, because, well, people think I'm nuts. Luckily I was with a family member at the time so atleast there is one person who believes me. Anyway, I guarantee you what I saw was not of this earth. And judging by the actions of others in that area, we were not the only people to see something that night. I'll go ahead and use the typical "I wasn't a believer until I saw one for myself" line. Thank you.

Oh, that's right! They dedicated Cars to him. He was also Wheezy!!!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:09 PM) Two words Marilyn Monroe only more trailer house and less white house. As I said: Jane Mansfield. Granted she died in a car wreck.

Not really worse, there's just more forms of reading about it. I'm also not saying it makes sense, I'm just saying things have always been the same. The whole reality thing isn't even new, there is just more of it because there can be, with cable and all. There was an old radio program called Nightwatch, which was basically Cops. It's just that we like to knock our present society for being a bunch of scuzzy creatures, when in all reality, the human race has always been the same. The only difference was that in 1926 you only had magazines. Then radio rolled around, and you got more gossip shows and game shows. Listen to the old shows and tell me Star worship has changed. Watch the old Ed Sullivan show and tell me people still react the same to seeing their favorite bands play. Nobody cries anymore when the bands walks on stage. TV added another dimension to the whole star attraction, then it moved into cable and internet. We are just as obsessed as ever, there are just more ways to be. Anna Nicole is no different than somebody like Jane Manfield. Pretty dang similar as a matter of fact. If Monroe had not done a few good movies, she would be in the same boat, as she also made some poor movies, but her personal life was a wreck.

But the publics obsession with stars, and the craze a stars death reaches, has been the same forever. On the death of Rudolph Valentino in 1926 from Golden Silents: http://www.goldensilents.com/stars/rudolphvalentino.html

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 01:04 PM) I believe that the majority of legitimate UFO sightings are cases of technology the government has that is far better than any of us simpletons would recognize, thus causing confusion. Just my 2 cents though, I'm not close minded to the idea of there being aliens or anything, and it's hard to explain the recent rash overall since it's been worldwide. Alien spacecraft anywhere...or just having visited us here?

On a couple of boards I hit there are quite a few conversations going on about UFO sightings, and this is being triggered by what seems to be a rash of sightings over the past year. I just kind of figured, what the heck, why not let the fine folks of Soxtalk jump on board with the stuff also. So...anybody here believe...have you seen one...or do you believe it to being a bunch of "hooey". If you don't believe, how do you explain the massive amount of sightings of late?

Hubba-hubba. Though I am a HUGE fan of the old "classic" style look, of which she was a throw back in the beginning.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) Didn't realize they'd been on Letterman recently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isvn_Dsj2bA Wow...why haven't I heard of them? They're damn good! Thanks!

QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 09:57 AM) And, I might be the only girl in the world who thinks this, but I'm glad Pam and Roy got back together. I think he kind of deserved a second chance. Well, I'm not a girl...but I like the way Roy is turning out. I'm also glad Jim and Pam aren't getting together for one simple reason: Daphne and Niles.

I agree about Bugs Life, IMO the most underrated Pixar.
-
I don't see how they could possibly top the second one. Plus, it just won't be the same without Slinky.

Perfect timing on The Police! I didn't like Michael at all. That was exactly what I always disliked about the US version VS the UK one. The Ryan bit was brilliant, as it was so subtle that if you blinked you would miss it. *DING*

Is this THE Howard Stern we are all talking about???
-
Oh, and also, she may not have OD'ed exactly, but no doubt whatever killed her was more than likely a result from a ton of drug abuse, both non-prescription and prescription.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) I didn't hate her by any stretch, I just didn't want to see or hear her because I didn't think she had any entertainment value aside from taking her clothes off. That's a LOT of entertainment value, my friend.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) Nah, she was messed up from the get-go. If you watch her VH1 special, she pretty much ditched her kids on her Mom, got popular through playboy, was heavy into drugs the whole time, Married the billionaire, etc. She never made it easy on herself or those that loved her, from start to finish Okey dokey. She was till pretty hot in the early days. Feel bad for the kid. But at the same time, if every cloud has a silver lining, maybe the kid will have a chance at a normal life? Not saying Anna's death is a good thing, not by any means. But...ya know what I mean? Just noticed Kyyle, you live in McHenry.
-
No matter what, she was incredible in her early days. She fell into a wacky world, obviously helped along by all sorts of abuse (drugs, booze, food). Was she selfish? Eh, I never knew her, so I couldn't say. But in her early days...man... RIP.

Are you kidding me??? Good cripes that show has its head up its butt. Good thing nobody in music ever uses any form of drug. It's such a clean profession.
-
We haven't got to Hollywood yet. Or is there a news story out there?
-
Hey, nobody thinks Manson could be a valuable part of society?
-
Dark hair with a blonde highlight.

Not to mention what she and Ozzy both did to Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake.

Hahahahahahaha!!! When we were watching the halftime show, and that part came about, I said "hm, I wonder how long until we see the news about Prince and his penis in silohette"!!! LOL!!! A few other people laughed and said "no kidding". Seriously, I came to work the next day, asked a buddy here about it, and he said "no, I didn't get that out of that part at all". I am a little surprised more people didn't get the impression of the "phallic" symbol there. Heck folks, we ARE talking about Prince here, and I am not sure if Prince knows about anything other than sex. I think the only reason I saw it was because we were dealing with Prince. If it was (to use the above name) Dave Grohl, I would not have seen the phallic symbol. But with Prince, come on, it's all sex.
