  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 10:37 AM) Wow, you're honestly one of the first person I've seen/heard who didn't like Sin City. I loved that movie... I also don't know of many who didn't like Hellboy. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) Is 28 weeks later the sequal to 28 days later because i really liked that movie. Yes. I'll all excited about Spider-Man 3, The Host, Pirates 3 (c'mon, ya got Nighy, Barbosa back, and Chow Yun Fat!?! They just need to turn a camera on and the movie will be friggin' great) and Fantastic 4 (sorry, I enjoyed the first and my son loved it, it will be fun I am sure). I didn't know there was a new Borne movie. That should be cool For all of the slams on the Simpsons movie (which I agree looks bad), I am surprised nobody is placing Shrek 3 right there with it. The trailers I have seen look terrible. I thought the amount of Pop-culture b.s. in the second one were bad, this one looks 3 times as bad. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) These look like they might be interesting but I'm afraid they won't be quite as good as the originals. The Number 23 looks interesting. Quite a different role for Jim Carey. Evan Almighty is getting rave reviews already. I also have to add Hot Fuzz to my list of MUST SEE movies. Oh yeah, and 1408 looks friggin' amazing! Advanced word on that one is also VERY high.
  2. So...what is the deal with this site? Very little info, such as price and such. Is it just another torrent site?
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 08:21 AM) Really. I heard they would be playing in a dump that reeks of urine, and has nets up to protect spectators from falling concrete. My "source" said Soldiers Field...he thought...he knew it was a place that nobody has played in a long time. I went along with him figuring it was Soldiers, just due to my knowing there have been shows at Soldiers. I never heard of anybody playing Wrigley...nor did it make any kind of sense at all. Surely they would want Soldiers, as they could sell WAY more tickets, I would think.
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) It's going to be a great show - NR + The Effigies + The Bollweevils = If I still went to shows, this is one I'd definitely go to. Have a great time! ...ya wuss...
  5. I think Cornell has an amazing voice, I just hate the music he chooses to place it on. I know many bands "mellow" with age, which is a shame, but Soundgarden started doing as soon as they sniffed success. Louder Than Love was the last full on album. But ya know, that's fine. They gained more fans and more respect, and they only lost a few. They did the right thing for themselves and more people, so that is cool. I liked them back then, but I didn't love them. IMO what happened was all of those bands that were once Metal (Alice and Sound spring to mind right away) got a little success in the newly named "Alternative" style. They all cut their hair, mellowed out a bit, became more...depressed maybe...and gained "respect" from the critics. They stopped calling themselves "Heavy Metal" and wanting to be linked to the Metal world. That was why they mellowed, they liked the fact that they were being respected. Odd, I know, but look at how many it happened to. Grunge was at one point a strange cross breed of Glam, Metal, and the early Iggy style noise that fell into Punk. But then it mellowed out, bands like Tad fell by the wayside, and the "artsy" bands prevailed, and then the style ate itself due to forgetting about riffs and hooks.
  6. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) It's on Joe Rogan's site. www.joerogan.net Rogan said he called Mencia "Menstealia" during his bit. At that point Mencia stormed the stage. Then how the hell does he get copywrites to it???
  7. Not saying he isn't talented. I'm just saying his band sucks and plays terrible music. You can have talent and still write crap. That Trevor guys is also quite possibly one of the most annoying people in all of music. Are they lovers? (that was minor sarcasm...as I know they say they are best friends...but I still question it all)
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) White people have no right to determine what is racist to group of people and what isn't. I didn't have strong feelings either way, but I think it is time for the chief to go. The Chief being a long lasting tradition is not a good enough reason to keep it around. Well, I don't think it's fair to say "White People". I think anybody not of the race being possibly descriminated against doesn't have a right.
  9. Maybe on the last day of his appearance they can have the Chief standing centerfield, have a white man walk up to him and hand him a blanket. He can then die from Small Pox and be carried off the field. Or would that be too authentic for the mascot???

    The Office

Like I said, the US show would be perfect with David instead of Michael. Gareth would be perfect to take the place of Andy, IMO. You need Dwight, due to Rainn being so good, not because of the character's written material. Dwight is so good due to Rainn. Whereas Gareth was perfectly written and acted. But other than those two, all of the US cast is superior to the UK, though I do like the "Jim" guy in the UK version also.
  11. Grohl might be one of the greatest guys in the world, but it doesn't help the fact that he makes the most sterile, commercial friendly radio crap in the past 20 years. This is a guy who claims Black Sabbath's Mob Rules as one of the greatest albums ever recorded, and Ronnie James Dio as one of his favorite vocalists. He was a part of the brilliant D.C. Punk band Scream. He may not have been on Nirvana's Bleach, but he was hired when Cobain was in search of the hardest hitting drummer alive. All of these qualities, one would think, would add up to a guy fronting a ROCK band, not a commercially successful Pop band. I loved the tune "Monkey Wrench" and expected them to go in that direction. Instead they turned out music with more fluff in it than an Ann Murry album. Grohl, though a nice guy maybe, sold his soul to corporate rock in a desire to make more money than he did with Nirvana and to be more successful than Nirvana. Or so it would seem. As for Cornell: IMO the last good thing that guy did was Soundgarden's Louder Than Love album. Back then the band was ROCK, and they all knew how to really blow the speakers out. I've pretty much hated everything Soundgarden did after that, and Audioslave was total piss. Rage Against The Machine? Ugh.
  12. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:28 AM) Oh, there are times when he is hard to listen to I agree. I watched some documentary stuff on AOL once when Audioslave was recording "Shadow On the Sun" for the 1st album....ouch..he sounded horrid while getting the yelling near the end of the song down. Sadly now, 2 of the last 5 bands I've seen live are now defunct...I think I'm a curse. First was Weezer and now Audioslave...look out Foo, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Seether, you may be next!! Promise???

Two weeks of "sucky Michael", and they reel him back in. Man, those writers know how to work that character to perfection sometimes. I am sooo torn with him. My feelings on him change every dang week!!! That ending bit, from when he got the gallery to the end with the framed picture were just perfect. And the bit with Creed, when the bat first flew around and he just sat at his desk, that was great! Then Ryan shaking his head as Michael took the text book!!!
  14. QUOTE(The Bones @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 08:57 PM) Exactly what I was thinking. With so many acts you would think there might be at least one or two worth seeing but no. It's funny, I looked that list over numerous times to make sure I wasn't missing something. But I got to the end after a few scans, and decided I'm fine with global warming after all.
  15. Hey, atleast it was Jet Blue and they could watch TV, so what are they whinning about.

    The Office

I love the US show, but I think it would be world better with Ricky Gervais as the boss. Ricky is perfect, and never came across as an ass, like Michael does. Michael is mostly un-sympathetic, which is a downfall on a character like that. I also, get ready for it, prefer Gareth to Dwight. The main problem is that Dwight and Michael are extremely un-realistic. The whole office is very realistic, but these two characters just don't fit. Michael would have been fired and sued a long time ago. Dwight, last weeks being almost tricked into believing it was the real Ben Franklin is a prime example. He knew all the right questions to bust the guy on, but still thought he could be real, and yet over 200 years old? Rainne (sic?) is great with the role, and the downfall usually comes from poor writing.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 10:27 AM) So, about a week ago my friend sent me the first few episodes of the series. A week later, and I've seen every episode from all three seasons so far. Damn this show is addicting. I thought Michael's antics at the wedding were a bit much -- almost to the point where its going to stop being believable. Overall, though, still a good episode. I loved Jim training Dwight. Have you seen the UK version yet?
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) I'm not a big fan of men dressing up like women, I've just never found it funny and the Kids in the Hall did a whole lot of that. A lot of their other sketches were excellent but the amount of cross dressing was staggering. I guess that's why I never liked Monty Python. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 01:10 AM) "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Mencia." That is almost a joke in and off itself, due to this being on something Joe Rogan aired...right? So...wouldn't it be property of Rogan? Unless since it looks like it happened in the middle of a Mencia stand-up it instantly becomes his? I would think the club would own the footage.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) I don't even recognize the 5th season as part of the Newsradio franchise. I think I saw maybe 5 minutes of one episode.
  20. I liked Dave on Newsradio the most, but I was a Kids In The Hall fan first. I still want to see a sit-com based on his axe murderer character.
  21. Mindy Doolittle. Almost no doubt in my mind. If she keeps growing as the show moves on, she will be amazing. Sundance was my fave, and I hope he pulls it together. But he was taken over by Chris Sligh. I like his voice, his style, and his sense of humor kills me. As for beat box boy, Simon told him they passed him on his singing. They haven't shown us any of it yet really, and I have to wonder why. Granted, to myself (the non-beatbox kind of guy), he sounds really impressive with that crap. He might not be up to Fat Boys quality...but I don't know about the whole Beatbox World.
  22. I've always liked Joe. He was really good on Newsradio, and the only decent thing about Fear Factor. It was on Fear Factor that you really got the idea that the guy was a no BS guy. He would quite often actually do the eating stuff himself. Mencia seems like a twit.
  23. I like the Hollywood part the most, usually. It shows you pretty good what the personalities really are like. I'm thrilled that the brillo-pad guy got through! Talk about your anti-American Idol guy!
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 12:51 AM) Ah, Ah, Ah, not so fast. Rumor has it they plan to tune up at The Whiskey and might throw in a few other small venues along the way. Besides, two weeks ago ANY show by The Police was a remote possibilty. That's true. They have already started tuning up at The Whiskey, that's where the beginning tour announcements came from. But I still would expect them to do the small venues the way other BIG acts do, with a fake name. I would also bet those shows would be a little tough to get into.
