  1. Would be a good day for the Guardians to drop a game. They're down 2 to the Phillies after 4.
  2. Twins with a decent stretch to climb into WC3. Sox still have 1.5 games on them, but they face each other 7 out of the next 10.
  3. Maybe I'm missing who you would have had start the 5th? I guess I would have been fine if they put Leasure in for a clean inning. But I wouldn't burn Taylor, Newcomb, etc. in the 5th inning of a tied game on the road.
  4. Can't think of a more obvious way to set him up for failure on his return than bringing him in with the bases loaded vs. a guy who has homered against him previously. And then when he does the job to get the out it doesn't matter because Vargas loses the popup.
  5. Meh. If they were up a couple then sure, maybe you go for the potential win in front of you, but burning your better arms for a game you're not even favored to win is the worst of both worlds. The next 3 series will be the most important stretch of the season to date, so I'm okay prioritizing that stretch. Vargas needs to catch the ball.
  6. Terrible position to put Leasure in his first day back up. And Vargas whiffing two separate chances to end the inning with a popup is rough.
  7. There's 10 division games between today and the next off day, tough call to go to the pen after 4 here when they already used Hudson too.
  8. Should be a better environment for him. Agree that he seemed like a decent guy personally.
  9. On the season, Houser has allowed a 1.100+ OPS to lefties and a .958 OPS at Oracle. But he's been much better in May (.591 OPS against in 3 starts) though a .167 BABIP suggests some luck there. He's also been better in day games than night games. He's got a higher walk rate and lower K rate compared to his time as a Sox, so there should be pitches to hit. Sheets hit one into the Cove off him, would be fun to see Mune or Montgomery do the same.
  10. Cool to see Davis Martin (7-1) matching last year's win total (which led the team, tied with Smith) in May.
  11. All 5 hits came in the one big inning, but you can't argue with results
  12. WP costs a run there, but he battled through it. He's earned a night of the offense picking him up anyway.
  13. Sox were being no hit for the first 3 innings lol Hope Davis is staying warm
  14. Lol Ant Man is a magnet That HBP looked more worth challenging
