Gausman is hittable, WAS just got to him for 6 ER and they have a similar offense to the Sox. Hard to know what to make of Holmes since his return. Meh debut vs. KC, good line vs. STL but his velo is down and he wasn't missing bats at all (3 whiffs in 80 pitches). Should be able to string together offense against at least one of them, just a matter of who can give us innings on the other side.

Maybe, but I'm not one of them. I'd rather beat the Cubs than some other NL opponent, but if you told me the Sox were guaranteed to split this 6 game road trip then I'm taking the 3 against the Tigers every time and not thinking twice about it. The Cubs effectively cease to exist to me after Wednesday unless I need them to beat an AL team to help our playoff odds.

Alright, I've decided I'm already over it. Played a sloppy game with the B lineup on the road, it took a selectively blind ump and most of the leverage arms being unavailable to help them lose it. Would have loved the win and I think they should have had it, but the sweep in Detroit was a much bigger deal so I'll trade losing to an NL team today for that. They bounced back after losing game 1 of the previous crosstown, just find a way in these next two to come home with a winning road trip and keep it moving.

The game should have been a Sox win in regulation, Hicks should have had two K's and a save.

I'm not typically in favor of full ABS, but it's hard not to hate the impact a missed strike call had on this game

15 whiffs on 19 swings, he really had it going

Ump is calling two different zones

He's thrown 19 on 78 pitches, higher than his last time out. Not getting the same elite whiff as against the Reds though.
