Oof.- 2023: MLB news not AL Central-related
Wowza. The White Sox bats have let down their arms plenty this season, but maybe never quite as bad as what the Brewers just did. Burns threw 8 no hit innings. Devin Williams threw a no hit 9th. Abner Uribe threw a no hit 10th. They don't scratch a run across until the 11th, which is also when they gave up their first hit to force a 12th. End up getting walked off in 13 after 10.1 no hit innings...15K, 3H for their pitching staff.- 2023 MiLB catch all

Rangers are 5-15 over their last 20 games, 3rd in the division, out of the WC, and currently trailing the A's.- 2023 MiLB catch all
Schultz gets a mention in Bowden's "just missed Top 50" list: https://theathletic.com/4836677/2023/09/06/mlb-top-prospects-2023-2024-bowden/- 9/8 4th Place .338 Sox at 3rd Place .453 Tigers
I guess next time he's going to have a no hitter through 7.2, and the Sox will somehow win 9-0.- 9/7 Games

He's been raking since the promotion, .869OPS and 4HR in 23 games in WS.- 9/6 4th Place Sox at 5th Place Royals
4 all year, all in the last month. Two in the last week.- Old Sox Drawer: 2023 Edition
Lance Lynn has given up a 6+ run/2+ HR inning for the second consecutive start. Also his second game in a row failing to finish the 5th: 4.2 IP, 7 H, 8 ER (3 HR), 3 BB, 1K. 24 hits (7HR), 6 walks, and just 3 (!!!) strikeouts in his last 3 starts (15IP)- 9/6 Games

If I had a nickel for every top 10 catching prospect with the last name Quero who is in the Barons game, I'd have two nickels...which isn't a lot, but it is weird that they're both there. Thompson had another great start. Very similar to last time out, there was one longer inning early where he pitched himself into and then out of a jam. Final line was 6IP, 1ER, 3H, 3BB, 8K. Unfortunately, the Barons have hit into about a million double plays and the normally reliable Haylen Green had exactly nothing in his arsenal today, so he's in line for the loss. Montgomery just hit one out though, so that's fun at least.- 2023 AL Central Division Thread
Gio just wants to come back home. I hope we offer him extra money for every homer he gives up in a Guardians uniform.- 9/2 Games
Kanny and WS both won shutouts, which is fun. Park went 2-2 with a double, 2BB, 2SB, and a HBP. He's been on base at least twice and scored at least once in every game since returning from the IL. Him and Nishida are a fun top of the order combo to watch and maybe their "get on base and run" energy is contagious? Ballers had 11 hits, 8 walks, and 7 steals. In WS, every member of the lineup got at least 1 hit for a team total of 15. It only led to 6 runs though, since Chappy's leadoff triple was the only XBH. Also only 1 walk, and you can probably guess who.- 9/2 Games
Popeye goes 3-5 in his AAA debut, 1 for 2 on SB. Chase Solesky decided to shove today. 6IP scoreless, 3H, 5K, 0BB. Cronin threw a perfect inning with 2K. Leasure got the save, also perfect with 2K. Knights win 2-1.- 9/2 Games
Carela with a season-best outing: 7IP, 1H, 0ER, 2BB. 7K. He looked great.- 9/2 Games
Carela's breaking stuff is disgusting tonight. Strikes out the side in the 3rd, all swinging. 6K through 3IP, no baserunners.- 9/2 Games
Charlotte got no hit (in 7 innings) yesterday by former Twin Devin Smeltzer. Popeye ensures there won't be a repeat with a first pitch leadoff single.- 9/2 Games
My guy Mason Adams did pretty well in his AA debut despite not missing as many bats as in the lower levels. 5IP, 1ER, 5H, 3BB, 4K. The run scored on a bloop single > SB > WP > single. Barons made a nice play to cut down Caminero at the plate when he tried to score on a grounder to 2B after a leadoff triple in the 5th. They trail 1-0, getting on base a fair amount but not hitting anyone in.- 9/1 Games
There was a weird call toward the end Kannapolis game. Nishida tried to bunt for a hit, but the ball ran in on him and he kicked his leg back out of the way. Seemed like it clipped the bat for a foul ball, but he was called out on interference. Didn't matter ultimately, since Sprinkle hit that go ahead shot later in the inning, but the dugout wasn't happy. McDougal looked solid and had some extra zip on the FB, but his night was cut short after a two base throwing error put him in a jam. 3+ IP, 1ER, 4H, 2BB, 3K. Comas was solid in 2IP of scoreless relief. Kole Ramage was very impressive pitching the remaining 4 innings, no baserunners and 6K. He struggled in WS after being promoted earlier this season, but looks basically untouchable his past couple outings back in Kanny.- 9/1 Games
If I remember correctly, he gets a $1+ million bonus for making the MLB roster by 2025.- 9/1 Games
Cousin turns in a QS, 6IP, 7H, 3ER, 1BB, 6K.- 2023 MiLB catch all
Kinda surprised about Burke, thought he was maybe wearing down a bit, but looks like he'll be joining Montgomery and Ramos (who I think have 99% and 90% AFL odds, respectively). Curious to see if Eder or Vera are among the arms going.- Old Sox Drawer: 2023 Edition
Lance Lynn did his usual post-inning swearing into the void, and the Dodgers broadcaster threw some shade about how he must be fired up by being "miles away from pitching for the White Sox." The next inning he loads the bases, walks in the tying run, gives up a slam to Acuna Jr, and then another HR for good measure while racking up 60 pitches through 2IP. Ironically, turns in a a worse line (4.1IP, 7ER, 7H, 2BB, 1K, 3HR) than he did for the White Sox in the exact same matchup vs. Strider and the Braves (5.1IP, 6H, 4ER, 3BB, 6K 2HR, W) I liked Lynn and I don't think he's totally cooked, but the "stupid Sox, Dodgers found one simple trick to make him a 2 ERA pitcher" narrative while he was pitching to soft offenses and still running a high FIP/low BABIP was annoying. He has more HRs (5) and walks (3) allowed than Ks (2) in his past two starts, and more hits allowed (17) than innings (10.1). But sure, the Dodgers "fixed his pitch mix" or whatever. - 2023: MLB news not AL Central-related
