  1. With the draft being 24 hours away... I am curious to see who everyone wants. I know we have been talking about the draft for weeks, but now that we are here, tell me who you would take. Lets assume Tim Beckham Brian Matusz and Pedro Alvarez are off the board, but everyone else is fair game. Who are your top 3 choices/wishes for our Chicago White Sox. Mine are: 1. Buster Posey 2. Kyle Skipworth 3. Brett Wallace
  2. My brother went to the Cape this past summer... and really loved what he saw out of Castro. Don't get caught up in the projected slot/order of players.
  3. I am not saying Greg Walker doesn't deserve his fair share... but put it on the Pro Hitters who can't get a runner in from 3rd with less than two outs. Great Job Crede and Swisher. or Dye and Thome earlier in the game. I hate seeing Nick Swisher come to the plate right now.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 31, 2008 -> 12:29 PM) Those could be solid comparisons, with one exception. Lance Berkman was a CFer at one point in his career and he could handle all 3 outfield positions to an extent. I think offensively the comparisons are similar in the sense that both Smoak/Wallace have the ability to develop into those type of hitters and honestly, if you are going pure offense, those guys, along with Alvarez, are three guys you really be hard pressed to go wrong with. I'd still grade them out (Solely Offense): Smoak, Alvarez, Wallace I know what you mean... I am just thinking Smoak and Wallace Offensively. I just think Wallace is a better athlete... better speed IMO. I just think Wallace is very underrated. I think he is a better hitter than Alvarez too.
  5. Brett Wallace is a stud baseball player. The guy doesn't get the credit he deserves because he has a big butt... but I tell you what, I don't think you can go wrong with him. He is a good athlete. I think he is a better athlete than Smoak. If Smoak is Mark Teixeira... then I'd say that Wallace is Lance Berkman
  6. gosh some of our offensive stats are damn Offensive. The last time Konerko had two hits in a game was May 9th. The last time Konerko homered was April 27th.
  7. Like it matters if it is 2-1 or 3-1... our Hitters have met there run quota for the game
  8. I agree... and I am not usually one to jump on our pitchers. so this leads me to ask... why was he so beloved on our board here? Rags to riches story? Game Used Jerseys are cheap at the Sox Garage Sale? Cool Name Spelling? Or just a deep hatred of Mike MacDougal?
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 11:47 PM) Well, don't get me wrong, it's a hell of a job to get a double off Joba at any time....but Quentin had 4 mistake pitches to hit that at bat and finally made it happen. That was by far Joba's worst pitched batter... Every Party has a pooper that's why we invited you!
  10. Gavin Floyd. The guy is a Tiger Tamer... even last year when they could hit.
  11. *side note* The "HOLD" was created by John Dewaan of the Chicago Baseball Report back in 1986. Dewaan is now a big shot at STATS INC. He is also the Stats guy that is on Murph's show every week on the Score.
  12. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) Sorry Cabrerra does not impress we with his defense nor his offense thus far. You are talking about Miguel right?
  13. Poreda gave up like 4 runs in 2 innings... but then the game was called due to Rain. Life is full of second 1st chances.
  14. According to Rotoworld: Triple-A Charlotte's Andrew Sisco underwent Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the season. Perhaps this explains why his command has gone from subpar to abysmal. Sisco hasn't shown nearly as much promise the last two years as he did when he entered the league with the Royals in 2005. He might be recovered in time to compete for a bullpen spot next spring.
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) And I'm not sure why I thought Herbert Perry was our 3B then...but I did. Herbert came around about a month into the season and held onto the job. I think Wilson's career ended after his 20 games as the 3B for the Sox in 2000.
  16. This might be a trick question though. I remember it was either the first or second game of the season... Valentin was hurt so Wilson played SS for a game or two. If it wasn't Craig Wilson, The Milkman wasn't around yet... It would have been Paul Konerko.
  17. Jermaine looked to come in on that ball with his first step.
  18. I think they already assigned him to Charlotte... but I'd feel more comfortable with him than MacDougal or Masset.
  19. Why is MacDougal still wearing a Sox Uniform. Just outright him already.
  20. Gooden had a double double in the 1st Quarter... Why doesn't the whole team try "The Beard" ?
  21. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) You need to add a jersey in your sig for every new starter that the Sox throw out there this season. Thats a great idea... how many different starters do you think we will have this year? Spot Starters and All... I am going with 9.
  22. QUOTE(max power @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) Broadway should have been the guy. I think Broadway is next in line if Gavin or Danks falls apart. I don't want to mess with him in relief.
