Moncada, Jimenez, Robert and Vaughn were more highly touted than any of those guys. Only Moncada and Robert turned out to be MLB regulars outside of the bouncy ball season in 2019.
You just answered your own question about Gonzalez. Not enough pop.
Where is everyone getting minor league advanced stats?
I don't have access so I had no idea that Quero had a 127 wRC+
Where are the position players coming from that you expect to be ready in 3 years?
Montgomery, Quero and Ramos have disappointed, and Gonzalez is probably a bench IF at best.
Idk why anyone will pitch to Robert the rest of the year. I'd just throw him breaking stuff out of the zone and let him get himself out. If he walks, he walks. Not like the rest of the lineup is any threat.
Cease didn't make sense either.
Some guys in AA are nothing more than trade pieces in the future. They're that far away. The remainder of this decade is lost.
Yeah, I'm not sure anyone that's in the minors right now that works out isn't just another trade piece. They are so barren on the position player side that it's hard to see the Sox sniffing a playoff spot before the stadium deal expires in 2029.
Not only that, but their top 3 position prospects in Montgomery/Quero/Ramos are flirting with Mendoza.....in the minors.
Montgomery has a .392 SLG. In Charlotte.
Quero has a .377 SLG in Birmingham
Ramos had a .323 SLG in the minors and a .239 SLG in the majors
All of them are barely hitting over .200. So it's not like they're getting tons of XBH.
I believe in Iriarte more than Thorpe, but Iriarte has risk to be the next Kopech.
Kyle Hendricks is the ceiling for Thorpe.
There's also a good chance that Thorpe comes up here and the entire league just sits fastball and crushes him.
