4/24 - Good Guys @ Twins 6:40 CT - Crochet Vs. Ryan
baseball_gal_aly replied to T R U's topic in 2024 Season in Review
The first two starts he made he was sitting at 98 and topping at 100 and that worked. Lost 1-2 mph and suddenly became a gascan. Fastball is too hittable. Dude needs to be a reliever. At least the Sox can get something for him. -

He is only good when he can top out in triple digits. 96-97 won't cut it for him. His fastball is too hittable. Seems crazy to say that a LHP is no good sitting at 96-97 but it's true with him. Back to the bullpen for Crochet. -

Are we sure Crochet is good? -
Out of all of the Sox s%*# big contracts, Benintendi might be the worst of them all. At least Dunn hit HRs every now and then. At least Keuchel had a good pandemic season. At least Danks was good for the Sox before he got paid and his arm fell off. He has gone from barely useful in his first year to completely useless in his 2nd and there's still 3+ years left.

4/23 - Sox @ Twins 6:40 - Fedde vs. P. Lopez

Yeah you have a point. I think the extra year at an insanely cheap rate for SP might drive up the price from the teams up against the tax. -
No they understand. That's why they want to move to Nashville. It's either deliberate or neglect.

Who had Bush figuring his s%*# out before Eder on the 2024 bingo card? BTW, those who are watching Birmingham, Is Eder close to figuring it out? I know it was a lot of walks and pitches Sunday but 8 K. I feel like from the box scores he might be close.

Hopefully Fedde keeps pitching well and gets a haul at the TDL. -

Is Kopech moving into non-tender territory? Vaughn is already there. -
As long as Thorpe and Iriarte keep pitching this well, idc.

Dickman returns.....

For those that want to complain about the Burger trade, he is hitting .228 with a .281 OBP and a .702 OPS for Miami. Looks like the trade might end up being a wash for both sides.

I liked Eder before his injury, but his command hasn't come back yet and due to age he's approaching non-prospect status pretty quickly. He'll be 26 in October. Hopefully he figures it out at some point this year, but early returns aren't looking good. And this is coming from someone that liked the trade from the Sox perspective. Also Burger is hitting .228 with an .281 OBP and a .702 OPS for Miami. Just seems like it might be a nothing for nothing deal.

I am aware.

Where's the Grobber when you need him for Bum of the week?
-
They need to DFA Maldonado and add him to the coaching staff.
-
Good god, now the pitching is getting lit up too, how are they going to win a game?

Bueller?

I thought he sat around 95 not 93
-
I thought Nastrini had a bigger fastball than this.

Moncada walked a lot as a prospect. Remember 2018? All of the Ks looking?

Half a season. He did not do well enough in Birmingham to earn a promotion IMO. He should still be there.
