Colon, Sully to be offered arbitration
Hey, at least if we lose Colon and Sully if still get 7 draft picks(9 if we offer Everett arbitration) in the first 2 rounds. Hope this turns out to be a strong draft.

Boras is losing his touch
Ummm...no. He turned down a $15M/2 Year deal form the Fish. Last thing i read said he's looking for a raise over the $10 million he made this last season.

If PK deal goes through
Raffy isn't coming to Chicago for 2-3 mi. He'll probably receive double that with the Yankees, Angels or Braves.
-
Konerko for Perez
I'd be nice if we knew what the Sox's real budget is? Either way, if KW adds lots of pitching i'll call is a successful offseason.
-
Konerko for Perez
I think KW will save every penny (and deal Koch) and try to use the money on one more starting pitcher (Colon, Ponson) and a reliever to replace Koch (Kerry Ligtenberg, Sullivan?). Pitching Pitching Pitching! That's the way to go.

If Konerko Leaves
The Sox's will probably try to deal Koch and after he's delt the budget should be fine.

Rumor has it the Twins are tring to deal ...
...to the Braves for prospects. This was told to me by a friend of mine who is a big Twins fan. He said Tim Kurkjian is reporting such a deal on ESPN radio. Hope Tim is right, cause the Twins would be delivering the central right into out hands.

Russ Gload
And apparently we can't spell damn either.

Listen to this convo...
I don't know, what about people with split personalities and lets not forget the drunk and stoned; they seem to do a lot of talking to themselves.
-
Bruce Levine Talks
Sorry to tell ya this, but Konerko isn't worth s***. We would have to give up a prospect just for someone to take him off our hands.
-
Bruce Levine Talks
Yeah, but there's a big difference between the two. They both have huge power potential, but unlike Borchard, Crust takes A LOT of pitches. He might only hit .250-.260, but he'll take a 100+ walks every year and he should be good for 30-35 HR's.

Bruce Levine Talks
I'd take a Jay Gibbons, Kurt Ainsworth and Jack Cust for Maggs deal (That's only if Colon, or another top-notch pitcher isn't signed). NO Freddy Garcia!

Scott Scheoneweis
To be fair: Schoeneweis vs. RHers: .275 AVG, .703 OPS Buehrle vs. RHers: .285 AVG, .762 OPS Garland vs. RHers: .234 AVG, .708 OPS Colon vs. RHers: .246 AVG, .699 OPS Granted he faced way few hitters, given that sample i'd say he's pretty capable of getting righthanders out.
-
Scott Scheoneweis
To be fair, Scheoneweis is more of a power pitcher than a finess pitcher.

Foulke at the Celtics game
Don't forget Kim.

Could Ricky Davis be getting dealt
The Cavs have been trying to trade both Davis and Big Z, if a deal would go down between the Cavs and Bulls it would probably involve Toronto too.
-
Could Ricky Davis be getting dealt
If Rose dosen't dress tomorrow, than a trade is imminent, but if he plays i can almost guarente that no trade goes down for a while.
-
Garland signs a 1-year deal
Well, you can either pay him 2.3 mil or nontender him, which one would it be?
-
Garland signs a 1-year deal
If they would have signed him to a muti-year deal they could have had him cheaper, 2.3 mil isn't that bad though.
-
Kelvin Escobar
Escobar's numbers as a starter: 12-8 (26 starts), 3.92 ERA. Not bad at all, but i think i read somewhere he's looking for something in the 15M/3 Year range. If the Sox's can get rid of Jose it could make financial sense.

Void in the Outfield
I guess he means CF. BTW, i say give Aaron a shot.

If we can't afford a $70 M payroll then...
I'm sure they'd be able find a way to unload Darren Dreifort (maybe pay half his salary, $6.5M out of $13M) and other big deals like Paul Shuey, Paul Quantrill, Hideo Nomo and Todd Hundley come off the books before the start of the 2005 season. So, money shoudn't be a issue if they want both Gagne and Nomar.
-
If we can't afford a $70 M payroll then...
No way is Gagne going anywhere, that would be like Boston trading Pedro. I just can't see LA allowing another team to have him.
-
If we can't afford a $70 M payroll then...
He's a bullpen guy and with Gange they might be willing to let a possible closer prospect go.

If we can't afford a $70 M payroll then...
If KW can get Perez and Steve Colyer for PK and Borchard, i'd do it in a heartbeat.
