  1. Well, maybe in six years the Sox's will be in a better financial situation (don't know how that could be possible), but the fact is we CAN'T (or at JR won't) resign players like Maggs or Nomar. All we can hope for is to somehow stumble onto a cheap young good pitching staff that rides us into the playoffs.
  2. Only way the LA deal goes down IMO is if Perez, Mota, Greg Miller and one more top 5 prospect is involved, in which case the Sox's get a great deal. It might be rebuilding, but its better than watching Nomar or Maggs leave after this season.
  3. Does anyone think KW is just saying he wants to keep Nomar to drive LAs price up? If LA can't find anyone, they might just give in to that ridiculas offer.
  4. Yeah i see it more like Washburn>Garcia+Perez.
  5. Once again, Huff is cheap, young, and has Maggs type numbers. To get him we'd have to offer A LOT.
  6. Well than KW better get off his ass and make a deal, because if Washburn hits the market someone will out bid us.
  7. Rauch and Borchard still have value, might as well trade them while they still have it and to get Huff the Sox's would need to make a really good deal, Tampa has no intention of trading no matter how much he wants out.
  8. No way Washburn get's non tendered, he has too much value for the Angels to let that happen.
  9. Rumors have Huff wanting out of Tampa. Rauch, Borchard, Pacheco, and maybe one low-level prospect. I can't see tampa getting a better deal than that.
  10. Well i rather have Williamson, Perez, Mota, and a prospect (Greg Miller) than Nomar. We than sign an a OFer and Ponson, trade Koch for Weathers/Good middle reliever and we have one hell of a pitching staff. Loaiza Buehrle Ponson Garland Perez Marte Mota Williamson Wunch Wright Schoeneweis (yes, i don't think KW will non-tender him) Koch/What ever we get in return for Koch.
  11. Yes their is, i don't know what the time frame is, but you can't trade a FA for a certain amount of days after you sign him. No sign and trades in baseball.

  13. Hey, anyone notice Ponson's 2002 salary on that page. He's taking quite the pay cut.
  14. When i see it in a Chicago paper or rotoworld i'll believe it, until than...
  15. Its called special money. No one knows where it comes from or how to get get, but every now and than it appers.
  16. Holt needs to stay on LA 25-man roster the entire season, if they send him down we can buy him back for something like 50 grand.
  17. 50 bucks says Graffy hits a game winning HR vs. us this season, any takers?
  18. Well for Huff, we'd have to trade 2 out of Rauch/Cotts/Pacheco/Honel/Wing +Borcahrd, Rauch and Pacheco come to mind first.
  19. Yeah, i have that same feeling. But if we do trade Mags why not go after Huff? Mayebe a Rauch/Borchard/Pacheco for Huff deal.
  20. Its a good deal for the Sox's, but i somehow fell Kenny would need to make up some of the difference in money. Were send them $19M and only taking back $12-13M.
  21. Isn't Guillen a FA? Anyway i'm fine with a Maggs+Jose for Garcia+Soriano+Wynn trade, but i don't think the M's would be very willing to let Wynn go, who else do they have to play CF? Maybe if we throw in Rowand or Harris.
  22. I think who ever offers Ponson 3Yr/$24M will get him, but i could see him sign for 3Yr/$21M, so at least the Sox's are close.
  23. We can only hope so. If Tejada goes to Baltimore maybe KW can swing a Maggs+Jose+Cash for Garica+Soriano+Clint Nageotte trade with the M's.
  24. I doubt Thomas demanded to be traded. He's the kinda guy that would have made a big fuss if he really did demand to be traded. Also, NO WAY IN HELL would Guillen want to trade Maggs.
