Take a look at the Sox current 40 FV prospects. I guarantee you wouldn’t miss quite a few of those guys.

One major league starter in Thorpe, even if he’s a #5 starter, would look like a win at this point with that putrid trade. We might not have even gotten back a prospect that will be as good as Boston Smith in hindsight.
