  1. SS2K5 is giving Lip some massive lumber 🪵.
  2. There’s no communism in baseball! It’s all capitalism, baby!
  3. I would hope that if a prospect like Clifford was being offered, Getz would have already taken the deal. I know all the rumors have been about the Sox wanting pitching in return for Robert, but Getz would be nuts to turn down such an offer, which makes me think the offers aren’t that good.
  4. We almost had Tatsuya Imai locked up for about 5 minutes on New Year’s Eve. NorthsideBob has Getzy on speed dial. NEVER FORGET.
  5. I can’t argue. At least Kelenic has youth on his side. I don’t see Conforto magically getting better or staying healthy. If we aren’t necessarily expecting to make the postseason, see what some outfielders can do that aren’t nearing retirement.
  6. True, but Conforto is still not the guy you want in that scenario. He hasn’t been good in years and he’s just another year older. We need — “or someone like him that’s younger.”
  7. Exactly. This new strategy by MLB teams finally makes sense. High AAV and lower years. Teams finally wised up. Why pay a guy $25-$30 million on a 10 year deal until they are well past retirement?
  8. Not so sure about that, but we will likely never know either way.
  9. This is why some posters were interested in Shaw, even though the Sox infield is full. But Conforto is still good, right?
  10. Apparently Heyman is still on Boras’s payroll to sell even his crappiest of free agents.
  11. He’s old, bad, and cheap. Not surprising.
  12. The Cubs dumped Tucker for an older and less expensive bat. The White Sox think spending $34 million plus a posting fee on a player is a big deal. The fact is that all of these teams could spend more if they wanted to but still aren’t. You should be more upset with those teams than the Dodgers who make their fans happy by spending big.
  13. Embarrassing. Jerry is a joke.
  14. Not to them apparently. Oh to be a Dodgers fan…
  15. You’re having even bigger wet dreams than @Chicago White Sox these days, I see.
  16. OBP is still a thing. So is Tucker’s usual SLG.
  17. Sounds like he may decide on a team today.
  18. Castellanos’s postseason stats in 2025? He was good in the postseason in 2023 and 2024, but not last year. https://www.mlb.com/player/nick-castellanos-592206?stats=career-p-hitting-mlb&year=2025 4 games 15 at bats 1 run 2 hits (both doubles) 0 HR 3 RBI 0 BB 3 SO .133 AVG / .133 OBP / .267 SLG / .400 OPS
  19. Does Conforto have any real options left to get near full-time at bats with any teams out there? He’s a Boras client but he’s gotta be desperate at this point. I’m not sure he is even worth it these days but he could get at bats in a platoon with Pereira in RF and alternate at LF and DH with Benintendi. EDIT: I forgot he would block Baldwin from playing time so probably not worth it.
  20. Yeah, I realize Castellanos could probably be acquired for almost nothing with the Phillies picking up a big portion of his $20 million salary, but we can’t joke about having to play Benintendi but then look to acquire and play Castellanos.
  21. Ewww. He can’t play defense and his hitting is getting just as bad.
  22. Benintendi is always the problem, haha. Maybe you could get playing time for both Sosa and Mead at LF and DH if Benintendi was not here. But then again, Benintendi could also outperform both guys. Quite the conundrum. So maybe a trade makes sense even more due to the roster crunch, even with the risk involved. Benintendi isn’t going anywhere.
