f*** Bobby Witt. I can’t remember if @caulfield12 or @greg775 loved him more.

You’re not getting any of those prospects in @caulfield12’s post for “a reliever or 2”, other than 28-year old Ryan Ward. Perhaps if one of the two relievers is Grant Taylor. I also doubt you are going to get “elite” young pitching for Davis Martin. Would you trade Noah Shultz for Martin?

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
How about “as obvious in 2023 as it was this past offseason”? Robert was coming off of his most productive (4.9 fWAR) and healthy (595 PA) season at age 26. There is logically no way the trade offers weren’t better for Robert after the 2023 season than they were this past offseason, along with the actual trade return of Acuna and Pauley. Yes, the injuries would be a factor but Getz kept him around for two additional seasons which further resulted in the belief that Robert was injury-prone. If your plan was to rebuild immediately upon your GM promotion, why not trade Robert after his great and relatively healthy season? I never claimed that any team would have traded “all of their best prospects” for Robert after the 2023 season, but the offers damn sure would have been better than what he was traded for two years later in Acuna + Pauley.

Please tell me you aren’t trying to argue that the trade offers for Robert after his 2023 season were probably worse than Acuna, a guy that could easily be DFA’ed only 1.5 months into this season? That is simply nonsensical and even you know deep down that it is a BS suggestion. Oh wait, I forgot to include Truman Pauley in the eventual trade return. The guy that is currently 0-5 with a 7.92 ERA and 1.88 WHIP at Single A. That probably puts Getz’s eventual trade return back over the top of any offers from after the 2023 season.

Once again, it wasn’t obvious at the end of the 2023 season. Getz was promoted to GM on August 31, 2023 and immediately started his own rebuild. One could argue that Hahn had already kickstarted the rebuild a month or so earlier by the 2023 trade deadline when he moved Giolito, Lopez, Lynn, Kelly, Graveman, Middleton, and Burger.

The board would literally implode, and rightfully so, if Getz swung a deal for a 35-year old Mike Trout. I’m sure the Angels would be all about making it happen.

I think he actually does have closer stuff (20 strikeouts in 15.2 innings), but his wildness fucks him over. 10 hits allowed in 15.2 innings isn’t bad at all but 10 walks to go along with those 10 hits is no gouda.

So who has more value right now — Robert or Acuna?

Yep, I remember Lip mainly reporting the updated stats on 1-run losses. Most of us were just waiting for Beavis to appear because the Sox awful offense was shut out so many times. 🤣

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Preller and Padres scouts obviously knew a bit more than Hahn and Sox scouts. They knew that Shields was absolutely burnt toast and got back the best player in the trade.

Remember the past dreams of trading for Pages?

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
Charlotte is 6 games back so they still have a chance.

A 17 year old Venezuelan outfielder that the Dodgers just signed in January. I guess Thomas is good enough to at least be a fourth outfielder? for the Dodgers.

2026 NFL off season thread
“Bears have the toughest strength of schedule for the 2026 regular season. Chicago opponents last year had a combined winning percentage of 55 percent, edging out the Dolphins for the year’s most difficult schedule. This follows an excellent 2025 campaign in which head coach Ben Johnson led the Bears to an 11-6 record with the NFC’s seventh best point differential, just ahead of the Vikings. Things could be slightly more challenging for Caleb Williams and company, though an other year of development and experience in Johnson’s cutting-edge offensive system could counteract the team’s tough slate of games in 2026.”

Good call. The ultimate lawyer speak.

Apparently you do care what other people think. Anyways, @CaliSoxFanViaSWside said that @Look at Ray Ray Run was “trying to squash dreams”. If your dreams are that the White Sox turn into a .500 team or better, you really need to reevaluate the importance of things. My hopes and dreams are that my kids do well in college, have nice careers, and are successful in life. My “dreams” won’t be “squashed” if the Sox don’t win another WS. It would be nice if they did, but it’s not all that important in the grand scheme of things to me. Besides, Jerry and Sox players don’t give two shits about me so why would I worry all that much about them? Sports is a hobby. A form of entertainment. It’s not that do or die whether you are a “Jedi” or a “Panican”. No one on their deathbed is really thinking about how sad it is that the Sox haven’t won another WS since 2005.

Is he trying to say that Benintendi has some sort of handicap? Also, why does that make him a perfect fit for the White Sox? 😳

Huh?!? 🤔

Power rankings are about as worthless as Miss Cali’s predictions… “Some of us have seen the rise and predicted it.”

Yes, I must stick it to everyone that thought the Sox sucked (which they have for three seasons; this is factual), just because they are now playing around .500 baseball! As if that person had anything to do with the current success of the team. I guess some people just want to take credit for being “the greatest White Sox fan ever”, even though they have zero control over how the team performs.
