Did you want him to hit 5 homers in this series? 🤣

Getz getz more of the blame. He didn’t give Venable any good lefty reliever options. But yes, Venable is still awful at bullpen management. Honestly, other than being much better with the media, I still don’t see how Venable is much better than Grifol. His lineups and bullpen management are both questionable. He’s about to lose 100+ games. He just doesn’t sound like a complete and utter jackass like Mr. “Just Flush It” when a mic is put in front of his face. Venable hasn’t proven sh!t thus far.

The JV Brother Rice team just blew out St. Patrick 42-7. They are now 5-0. The Varsity team (4-0) plays St. Pat’s at 7 PM tomorrow night. Here’s the game link… -

Another interesting tidbit… Since Kenny Williams joined the White Sox organization as a scout in 1992 until he was fired along with Hahn (whom first joined the Sox in 2002) after the 2023 season, the two worst seasons they both had were 100 losses in 2018 and 101 losses in 2023. Getz was also with the Sox for both of those seasons (2018 and 2023). Meanwhile, Getz is going to obliterate both Kenny and Hahn’s worst seasons in their entire tenures (in a variety of roles) with the Sox in his very first two seasons as GM. Yes, Getz indeed should have been canned along with Kenny and Hahn after the 2023 season.

Exactly. Not many people would turn down a promotion, even if they aren’t qualified. You get the title for your resume and also get paid likely more money than you deserve.

So do we think the Sox will try to convert Vasil to a starter this offseason, or instead not “mess with a good thing” where he has had success and leave him in the bullpen?
-
Checkmate indeed. Irrefutable argument. @Quin is a master debater.
-
Nope, not even if you ask three times. 😉 The Boston front office is probably salivating at the thought of making another trade with Getz this upcoming offseason.

Congratulations, Chris!!!

Perhaps Boston will decide that they need an old terrible lefty reliever in the offseason and will trade their 25th best prospect in Fajardo back to the White Sox for him?
-
Impressive, Booser. What a sweet acquisition by Getz.
-
Robert has been worth only 1.4 bWAR in each of the past two seasons. Getz is apparently going to pick up his $20 million dollar option for next season. If Robert repeats that performance next season, along with his proclivity to extended time off due to injuries, it is very likely going to be wasted money.
-
Playoff feel for the White Sox in this series! Shut the hell up, John.
-
We have our own wasted money — Benintendi (0.9 bWAR) and Robert (1.4 bWAR).
-
It’s an annual Sox strategy since Kenny, then Hahn, and now Getz. They waste millions each offseason on garbage vets because they have no faith in the players in their minors or that they acquire.
-
Sosa just swung at a pitch so far outside that even Robert might have taken it for a ball.
-
Annual awful waste of money Getz veteran acquisition.
-
Yeah, a corner infielder with less power than a utility guy.
-
I’ve seen enough of Curtis Meadiocre. It was worth a shot I guess but no way was Getz ever going to put one over on the Rays front office.

An 81+ win season is not the exact same position as a third straight 100+ loss season. And there is zero proof that Getz could have as much success as the Mets this season with the very same resources. So far, all Getz has shown is that he’s more successful at racking up loss records than building teams with .500+ records. The Mets successes or failures don’t make a damn bit of difference to the utter failure that Getz has been thus far.
-
Damn, that will make it harder to trade him this offseason… 🤣
