  1. Age 22 Pete Alonso had 71/22 K/BB rate in 346 PA at high A Coby Mayo at AAA had 97/41 K/BB rate in 390 PA considering Mayo two full levels higher, I would argue that would favor Mayo in comparison
  2. Alonso was less advanced as a prospect than Mayo. At age 21-22, Alonso had only 47 ABs above A ball. At the same age, Mayo had 287 ABs at AA and 552 at AAA. And put up OPS of .974 and .964. That .964 mainly at AAA was at same age Alonso was still mostly at high A with lesser numbers
  3. Mayo also with significantly more power than Vaughn was ever projected to have. I guess I just don’t see why just because Vaughn sucks that it follows that the Sox shouldn’t acquire another first baseman. Obviously if we could get a comparable bat at SS that would be preferable but good luck with that.
  4. So was Frank Thomas and Paul Konerko supposed to be quality RH 1b. Obviously almost any prospect could bust, but unlike Vaughn, Mayo actually successfully developed in minors prior to reaching the majors. I don’t thinking getting a right hand bat is that bad of an idea, either, since all of our top prospects aside from Ramos hit left handed.
  5. Another? I guess I don’t see all those quality firstbasemen in the organization. The Sox need the best bats they can get. They currently have none at any position. Bones spurs are an easily resolved condition though that should have no effect after healing
  6. Edman’s career WAR per 162 is 4.6 which is similar to Robert
  7. I would do that deal every day of the week
  8. https://en.as.com/nfl/bears-vs-lions-betting-odds-spread-overunder-and-prediction-week-13-n/ Bears let clock run out with timeout left in 23-20 game in which over/under was 48.5. Thoughts?
  9. Sure in that case, but more than 10% of mlb players would get 500 abs for more than just the worst team in sport
  10. And Mussina. Then they had hof caliber players like Cano, Sheffield and Abreu as well
  11. Yeah not sure that 90% is accurate. I’m sure there are more than 10% that would rather take 4.5 mil from a quality org than take 5 mil to join a s%*# show
  12. Madrigal only needs like 2750 hits to get to 3000
  13. on second thought, that probably is the position I would take, if I were negotiating for the other side
  14. Well I wouldn’t take that position if I was doing the negotiating, just saying as a fan I’d be fine with it. Honestly youre probably right anyway though although Ive turned some good moves in fantasy in my day🤣
  15. I don’t like the way Robert goes about his business. His “training” videos and some his interviews speak volumes imo. He’s just not a baseball smart professional. Teams have to know they’d be essentially taking on a dipshit, which obviously isn’t a deal breaker, but still has to diminish him somewhat in light of his horrible season. His talent is great and all, but between that and his propensity for injury I’d be fine with a decent package of solid B type prospects
  16. Maybe I’m confused here, but doesn’t frugality mean using money wisely? I don’t remember any of those allegations
  17. How do you define blue chip? Thorpe was ranked in top 60 by BA and BP.
  18. I’m surprised even Slater would sign here. He had a pretty crap year last year, but 115 OPS+ from 2020-23 isn’t too shabby. You’d think he could have signed with one of the other 29 teams
  19. There was no previous report of them trying to add him to trade offers. The report was that another team offered to take him in tdl deal that didn’t happen
  20. He’s still pre arb. Why wouldn’t they
  21. “In these particular discussions, an unnamed team proposed taking on all or most of Benintendi’s remaining contract. Whether the White Sox seriously entertained this idea is unknown” Not sure how that substantiates the claim the Sox want to package him with Crochet
  22. I believe it is particularly a Sox thing. Major league quality hitters are being produced somewhere else
