  1. Ain't no pearl clutching like a soxtalk pearl clutching
  2. Mead was the Rays' number three prospect only two years ago and has like three hundred something career ABs. Not sure he's a guy you want to just dump. Maybe during the season if he hasn't shown anything
  3. Antonacci was hit by pitch an incredible 35 times last year, driving his OBP to Meidrothian levels
  4. Have you considered a career in politics?
  5. Might even see a sub hundred loss season!
  6. I believe service time rules would still apply once the contract is up
  7. Do you have a credible source for that
  8. I was talking about Teel
  9. Mead was the Rays' 3rd ranked prospect a year and a half ago and is 488 PA into his MLB career. No way you keep a minor league reliever who isnt even ranked very high in Sox lists over him. Keeping Palette over the two rule 5 selections because they spent a 2nd round pick and 1.5 million dollars is sunken cost fallacy. If the Sox think the two pitchers are better pitchers is all that matters there. Whether they are correct I have no idea. Hudson over Palette might be most questionable, but I have to say his major league numbers from 2024 look pretty damn spiffy. I'd imagine that the odds of Palette ever putting up those kinds of numbers is slim at best. Hill I think they must have planned as member of 26 man roster. The idea they have three spots open for a bat and a couple arms seems reasonable so might as well let whoever you'd end up cutting anyway. Basically did Palette a favor there, since whoever took him will presumably have to give him mlb time
  10. If Taylor is developed into an elite closer, I wouldn't be complaining
  11. What if it were for some one like James Wood. Then you still have Quero and Lee with outfield of Wood, Robert and Montgomery by August hopefully. To me Quero seemed to have better skills behind the plate anyway, although not sure what the numbers say.
  12. Of course he's drawing interest. Probably has a good investment manager
  13. When Benintendi was signed, he was supposed to be a complimentary player to the core of Abreu, TA, Robert, Jimenez, Moncada, Grandal, and Vaughn, not a cleanup hitter. Most of those had contracts with individual seasons at higher rates of pay of Benintendi. The idea he was signed to be a center piece of the Sox lineup is a rewriting of history. He was supposed to be a solid bat at the back of the lineup. Obviously, it didnt work out that way
  14. How you going to name your kid Ben, when your last name is Rice
  15. Elko is an older prospect but this is only his 3rd full pro season
  16. Nobody is trading for Vaughn. Romy's probably a better option at this point
  17. If Montgomery was hitting .250, he would probably have been called up
  18. They had a stretch in May when they went 8-4 last year, of which the last two games were shutout wins
  19. I don't remember enjoying a single game last year. At least this team is entertaining at times
