Sox acquire Workman
That sucks. I was going to wait until he made some amazing throw from deep in the hole to start calling him Twelve Gage

April 25 Gamethread Sox @ Athletics 9:05
Except it assures he's going to see the same three guys at top of the lineup two days in a row, which seems pretty dumb to me

April 25 Gamethread Sox @ Athletics 9:05
With this nine, I'd go with a lineup like this at this point: Baldwin Sosa Quero Robert Dalbec Vargas Vaughn Taylor Amaya

Baldwin does have the highest OPS on the team among players with more than 29 PA

Sox acquire Workman
Alright now dump Amaya for Elko. Pretty sure workman can at least match a .229 OPS at SS. Let AV play first once a week and DH against lefties

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
TA seemed to recognize pitches he could jump on, Robert seems to lack that ability almost altogether. TA lacked discipline but his attitude seemed to be why wait for a walk when I can hit a line drive into the gap. Robert is just lost

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Whether his approach has been aggressive or patient, his issue remains the same. Horrible pitch recognition. I've seen it suggested he needs to sit on a zone, but I'm not sure he can even recognize where the pitches are going enough for that to work.

April 25 Gamethread Sox @ Athletics 9:05
Athletics might as well be the '73 A's compared to this team. Brutal sweep incoming
-
April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
I thought that was going to be 3 run inning for sure

Draft pools announced, Sox @ $12.1 mil
Robert should consider converting to Jobuism

Nice work by Smith

April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
That's actually being quite generous

Draft pools announced, Sox @ $12.1 mil
How does a 91 win team like the O's have 33% larger pool than the Sox.
-
April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
Chasing every pitch six inches outside of the strike zone wasn't working either though
-
April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
Can't be any worse than Vaughn in RF, in a season the sox were supposedly going to be competitive no less. At least now it doesn't matter if he sucks
-
April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
If a couple starting pitchers and a couple batters prove to have some long term value, that's about the most we can hope for with this season
-
April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
The only thing to enjoy at this point is individual performances. Just hope guys like Shane Smith or Quero put together some good games
-
April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
Dalbec has started 2 games with 5 appearances at SS at major league level with 15 starts at AAA, for the actual record
-
Super Official GT Sox @ Twins 6:40 B.Wilson/Festa
Perhaps one could say you had been Cam Boozled
-
Super Official GT Sox @ Twins 6:40 B.Wilson/Festa
If I had any idea what that even means, I would That was the Earl Weaver strategy, with which he was only slightly successful
-
Super Official GT Sox @ Twins 6:40 B.Wilson/Festa
Wrong again. His first start at SS was in 2022

Viewership
The commonality is that both significantly reduced viewership, which inevitably will erode the fan base.

Getz move to bulk up on catching newest market niche?
Yeah but on the other hand you can always plug in the position with short term guys like Thaiss. Think I'd still rather have a couple top 50ish shortstops or centerfielders. Back when the Sox were actually generally pretty good they were fine plugging in with guys like Marc Johnson or Chad Kreuter behind the plate

Tankathon
So did I. Seems fishy

Bobby Dalbec added to roster, Meidroth to 10-day IL, Martín Pérez to 60-day IL
Rizzo hasn't out produced him in the last two years, why would he start now. The fact the Yankees played him the last two years is evidence to support that Vaughn would have been signed had he been non tendered, if anything
