  1. The commonality is that both significantly reduced viewership, which inevitably will erode the fan base.
  2. Yeah but on the other hand you can always plug in the position with short term guys like Thaiss. Think I'd still rather have a couple top 50ish shortstops or centerfielders. Back when the Sox were actually generally pretty good they were fine plugging in with guys like Marc Johnson or Chad Kreuter behind the plate
  3. So did I. Seems fishy
  4. Rizzo hasn't out produced him in the last two years, why would he start now. The fact the Yankees played him the last two years is evidence to support that Vaughn would have been signed had he been non tendered, if anything
  5. This guy may just win the tallest midget contest yet
  6. Why in the world would you have the infield drawn in, in double play situation with one out?? That should've been a tailor made DP.
  7. If the question is whether Vaughn could have been non-tendered and then re-signed for less this past off season, his current production is irrelevant. There were in fact several teams that got worse production from first base over the past couple years that presumably may have been willing to sign him, were he a free agent several months ago.

Okay you convinced me. I no longer believe the Sox do not have a young mlb ready OFer since I would then have to believe the O's lack of starting pitching is a failure on their part. Thanks for talking sense into me

OK but we know the white sox don't have any near mlb ready OF prospect either way, whether the fact of the O's lacking sufficient starting pitching is a failure or not
  10. Perez was the one guy I thought Sox could count on for 30 decent starts. Sox going to need like ten starters to get through the season. Clevinger probably back in the rotation by June

Sox should move Braden up to AA, though. I thought it was obvious after ST that he was too advanced for A ball. We're a minimum year and a half away from having any legit OF prospects making the roster

This makes no sense. If we are to believe the Sox have no young outfielder to call up, that means the O's failed to have good starting pitching prospects? One has nothing to do with the other. The Sox in fact have no young outfielders to call up, how's that even questionable
  13. Sawx deserved to lose for wearing those awful uniforms.
  14. Sheets going the opposite way so far a full two times his career average. Maybe he did make an actual adjustment
  15. That clip of Bill Burr using Billy Corgan's cub fandom as a round about way of calling him a c*** to his face was a glorious moment in these dark times
  16. The discussion we would be having in that case would be what top prospects we had or would attain for him rather than whether the Sox end up eating his buyout or get something like Outman and a lotto ticket
  17. If Robert were a .250 hitter we wouldn't be having this discussion
  18. A's have only used their original thirteen position players so far. Also, how can there be a second Max Muncy in mlb? That ain't even right
  19. I was wondering why Amaya over Baldwin
  20. Not sure Robert can be considered to have elite power when he just went 46 games without a home run
  21. Who would have thunk this kid would grow up to play major league baseball
  22. Connie Mack sold his players to line his pockets
  23. Wouldn't they have to remove another player from 40 man to make room for both Palacios and Narvaez?
  24. . Jones putting up some stout numbers at AAA so far. Colson Montgomery now the only position player left on 40 man that's not on active roster or IL
  25. Ump missed at least two strikes there and Smith still plowed through em
