I'm a lifelong Cardinal fan, but now I've modified that to say, "The Cards are my National League team, and the Sox are my American League team." This certainly is a fun team to watch, and it seems that when one guy isn't able to do what he'd hoped, another guy is there to pick him up. This is a classy bunch of guys, right across the board, although I'll admit I'm a little partial toward my great-nephew out there in left field!

Sam is a helluva player. Talented grinder. I love his ABs. He's up there hacking and knows what he's trying to do.

Love how Sam battled back from a tough finish to the WBC, kept his chin up and kept plugging away until he created an opportunity for himself.

Also, thought him being self aware of the catch probability % on a dropped ball recently demonstrates he's really thinking of himself as an outfielder now.

Long term, he and Chase Meidroth have a number of similar attributes, hopefully they can both find a way to stick in the starting lineup.

The offensive numbers so far are about as much as reasonable Sox fans expected from a rookie with limited AAA repetitions.

Grew up with that Pendleton McGee Coleman Clark Herr Ozzie Lonnie...StL team and that horribly scorching turf, but also the pleasant nightly company of Mike Shannon and Jack Buck reaching from Kmox to Geneseo IL to eastern Iowa in the 80s. Came in much better than wmaq out of Chicago in the daytime.

Have a 1949 Cards autographed ball, Stan Musial autographed print, as well as Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, etc.

I would put Vargas or Meidroth 2nd, Mune doesn't scream two hitter to me. I would rather have a chance with a guy on 3rd and him hitting 3rd or 4th in the line up

Welcome. Everybody loves Sammy. He's tenacious which will no doubt lead to quick improvement in LF. He's the ideal leadoff man. Hope you enjoy your stay.

They already have. Maybe Roch replaces Vargas, Montgomery, Meidroth, or Antonacci, but maybe not. All of these players have some unique talent(s) that they are bringing to the team, and it is all working together right now.

Will is turning into a pretty good manager. Hopefully he manages with a sense of urgency the rest of the way as the fans and players deserve a shot at 80 or so wins and see what happens in the division. Obviously things can change but for now we have a puncher's chance at the playoffs.

I think that's better than batting Teel 6th and Meidroth 7th, keeps the L/R/L/R/L until the 6th batter

I'd go:

Teel, Sam, Mune, Colson, Vargas, Meidroth and then whoever else is the OF and DH. Just lump our 6 best hitters together and make sure Teel and Sam are getting a ton of ABs they are they table setters for the boppers.
