Hahn and KW were bad but they did manage to acquire more than a few high level prospects. The players just consistently did not develop to their predicted level of play. Who was in charge of development again? ?It’s organizational incompetence at almost every level. I’m sure we’re only weeks away from Jerry giving some interview and blaming the fans again.

That is the actual reason Pedro should be fired. I understand the roster is largely constructed of poor players and we can go back and forth on lineups and decision making (I think both suck), but this team of professional athletes doesn’t even seem to be trying on a daily basis. It takes a ridiculous amount of coaching incompetence to look this bad with a professional sports team.

I honestly don’t get why he’s pitching. The entire league knows a move is imminent so keeping him out is an easy explanation. Best case scenario is that he has 4 strong innings which doesn’t really impact his trade value. More likely is that Pedro pulls him at the first sign of trouble and he doesn’t make it through three. Worst case is that he comes off with some sort of injury or even just soreness/inflammation. Makes zero sense to pitch him on a team careening towards 115 losses 2 days before the trade deadline.

I don’t really see the point of pitching Crochet today. Nothing good can come of it. Everyone knows a move is imminent just hold him out. I’m starting to get the sinking feeling that Getz is going to completely mis-handle the deadline. It’s not surprising but I was hoping he’d stun and make a couple impactful moves.

Benintendi is here to stay. No chance they DFA him and pay $50m to not play. He’s completely untradeable. So…he’s going to play 100+ games in LF for the foreseeable future.

At this point, I’m fairly convinced it’s a tall task for Getz to put on his pants every morning…

At the very least Katz has to go. You’d have to assume the pitching coach is highly complicit in the bullpen decisions and they are justifying a catcher with a .070 BA because he apparently manages the staff so well…ie, you are admitting that the pitching coach isn’t doing his job.

A team can absolutely build around guys like Luis and Crochet. The issue is, that by the time the Sox are possibly good enough to compete, both will be due new deals and likely command $200m plus which Jerry won’t pay. Therefore, at least convert them into a future asset.

He has played over 100 games exactly once in his career. He is absolutely injury prone.
