  1. when the fore-fathers were trying to establish the running of the country, in its infancy, they started with the separation of church and state. in other words, the 2 shall never be combine in making the law.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 7, 2015 -> 12:37 AM) This David Freese talk has me throwing up. I don't see him as the answer at 3B at all. believe me when i say this as nicely as i can. but it really pains me that i have to agree with you on this.
  3. was there any surprises for those who got or didn't get a QO????
  4. QUOTE (beautox @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) I like Trey a lot but I don't think it would be wise to pencil him in anywhere till after he debuts at AA. i know what you mean and i totally agree. i was hedging a little while ago and talk about walking into an infernal with many just blindly praising him. i truly hope he develops i really do, but unless he can't bring up his avg to close to a 300 range, i really can't see him making it. i am pulling for him.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Fair enough. But I also hope we don't have to read a stream of constant criticisms of White Sox fans as a primary excuse for why their team is being run so poorly. Basically, the idea that we should still loyally go out and buy tickets just because of 2004-2006 even though we're now a full decade removed from that time period. Or that we have to adhere to others' conceptions of what is the model or ideal Sox fan. For example, Lip has faced a lot of criticism here for speaking out honestly or in a "dark cloud"/pessimistic way. The idea we have to always be optimistic is equally annoying. If you follow Sox baseball at all, you know he's a true fan. And that's the only thing that matters, or should matter. So, to summarize, I'm happy to praise the front office when they do something well, such as Abreu, Eaton or Rodon. On the other hand, Hahn hasn't provided many reasons for us to trust his baseball instincts, especially as it relates to the coaching staff (or we simply have to believe KW is meddling in every organizational decision and Hahn is willing to accept the same scenario that just drove AA from Toronto). At any rate, the clock is ticking. Back to our topic.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) These women on the View need professional help. I mean not to be obnoxious but they don't even apologize for their criticism of Florina's face? Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar commenting on somebody else's face?? They should fire the whole bunch of them. Florina should have never gone on that show. Those hosts would rather be denied pizza for a week than show respect to a Republican candidate. Florina should have asked them what they thought of Hillary's face to put them on the spot. Would they have said: "OMG, glad you asked. Hillary is gorgeous!!" How dare those women of the View, who are hideous looking themselves, criticize anybody else's face. My gawd. https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/view-hosts-clash...-175237563.html dang it, i forgot all about it. i guess i will look on youtube to see if someone posted it.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) Hmm. I'm interested to hear why. well i will respond to the normal stuff every one will know about now. but i will refrain from the movie and such. giving bond points for production was a great move. they put his name up there for producer or co-producer. so if he make what, 3 % of the total gross, he is set for life. if it is 3% for net, he is doing really good. but i am using 3% as a normal movie industry number. maybe it has change since then. now all the trade mark advertising ..... man those companies really must have spent a lot of money now for the rest, i will wait til sunday nite to talk about .... i really don't want to ruin it.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 06:19 PM) Ben Carson has the roughly the same odds of winning the presidency as Kenny Williams. well at least KW will out of the sox org.
  9. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:56 PM) I guess if Carson is the nominee we'll see how much of the "black" vote he'll receive since that's the only reason blacks voted for Obama before. this was a great move by the rep party of getting minorities for their run of candidacy. it will look as the rep is now going to be for the minority as the dem are. so if Dr. Ben Carson does become the person, at the end of the day, depending on the dem candidate, the african americans will vote for him.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) Man both BP and Fangraphs seem to think we have a lot of money to spend. Cameron predicted we would sign Rasmus and Morales last year instead of LaRoche and Melky. Damn, had we done that we might have won the 2nd wildcard. that has always been a point of contention on this board, esp with me. so there is this big mystery of how much the sox will spend and how they will address the holes. btw, nice post
  11. ok i am talking about kyle kendricks according to baseball reference he has been a pitcher for phil and then a pitcher for col.... all in the NL.
  12. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) The problem is, in the boy who cries wolf, the boy wasn't invited to the wolf's house. You seem to be taking this so personally. It's over. Kane's not going after his accuser and he's not being charged. It's completely related if you think Kane is interested in pressing charges against his accuser. Doing so would achieve nothing and instead cause problems. nah... i am really not, i thought my comments have to really mild compare to other issues i really rant on. i was having fun in a really friendly debate of the law. ref bold #2. i agree. but i am questioning some of the process that we as fan are not privy to ... but oh well. again, i really hope you didn't take anything i said personally.
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) Brandon Beachy could be interesting. Take a chance on a one year guaranteed contract with a second year option. I don't think he would cost much either. that would be the best option, but i doubt the pitcher would like that. i just saw that lackey was given a QO..... dang.
  14. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:54 PM) Kendrick would be a nice addition I think. Mark oh yeah ,..... but his result are of the nl i like the tor sp Estrada
  15. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:51 PM) I agree the situation is really difficult. But we're kind of arguing over something relatively moot. Kane shouldn't go after his accuser because it doesn't really achieve anything. All that would do is bring more press to the story he wants to go away. The last thing Kane, the Blackhawks, or the NHL wants is for this thing to become any bigger. If Gawker, the Daily Beast, the Huffington Post, or any other left leaning news source caught wind of this, the backlash could be enough to make the NHL do something. totally off related. i have to give the blackhawks org props for not abandoning Kan in the beginning.
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) Right, but someone who is not credible is not necessarily malicious. ahhhhh i love it. that my friend is another fine line of logic which can be discussed endlessly. for me this is like the chicken or the egg discussion. b/c of the many tangible discussion that it will open. my biggest comment against it. an analogy, the boy who cries wolf.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) All evidence points to her lying but no, nobody can prove that because it was her word against everyone else including scientific evidence. All we know from what happened is Kane wasnt involved in any physical contact with her and she claimed he raped her. Men who are falsely accused never get called a victim of the process for some reason. without the tech of finding out the truth, evidence is based on science of what is on hand and creditable accounts of what happen and who is doing the telling.
  18. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:32 PM) Can you prove that she knowingly and maliciously lied? Can you prove that her version of the story was not a result of her mental state? Until you can, Kane isn't the victim. by science.... the results of the DNA, which is the foundation of questioning her creditably. when the DNA results came back, that was the domino effect in reverse.
  19. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) Don't confuse "not being charged" with "being the victim". In cases of sexual assault, the tables don't turn like that. If that girl did feel threatened, she was still the victim. Unless you can prove beyond reasonable doubt that the plaintiff knowingly and maliciously lied about her situation, you cannot call Patrick Kane the victim. good point of the law. however there is a fine line when the victim becomes perpetrator thus making kane the victim.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) "here" being the key word. But again, he put himself into position to embarrass his employer on national television AGAIN. Pretending this is the only incident is disingenuous at best. I don't buy into the frat boy mentality of boys being boys when it passes the line and repeatedly becomes national news. Even if you are totally right and this was a pure set up from the very beginning, it doesn't excuse the other incidents, and the fact that this has been a pattern of behavior for Patrick Kane to put himself into stupid situations. dang it. i said i wanted this to be done, but you are making a compelling argument. the discussion is of the kane and this supposedly fake accusation of rape. it is not about the culmination of all his misdeeds. 2 totally different things and some are trying to pigeonhole everthing into one
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) Because those are two more of the buy low pitching candidates available on the free agent market. i can see the sox really needing a sp for the in case scenario.... now whether that be a elite or a pitcher of lesser talent. 2 yrs would be great. next yr just in case if danks continue his good results as he put up toward the end of last yr or in case EJ stumbles out of the gate. the other yr would be when Danks contract is up and one of the prospects the sox have is not ready.

midnite showing of Bond..... the movie is great on first impression. i may have some more to talk about. i am tired. but it was great!!!!
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 07:19 AM) It seems like every day some media type is trying to get "the big one" on Carson. They keep bringing up things he's said and appear to be trying to get him to lose favor with voters drastically. How come Obama was basically off limits from this kind of stuff. It was all kind, gentle coverage of Obama during his eight years. Hillary's getting the kid gloves, too. In this world of cliches and 20-second max soundbites, the main story on Hillary is ... "Big Bad Republicans Continue to Attack Hillary Who Did Nothing Wrong with Her Emails and Did Nothing Wrong Regarding Benghazi" Meanwhile, they are trying to make Carson look like a Loonie-Tune (despite him being an incredible surgeon and brilliant man). The overwhelming vibe given from media's coverage of Ben Carson is that he's a man with weird thoughts and ideas; Meanwhile they are trying to make Trump also look like a Loonie-Tune and a sexist and an all around bad guy; and finally they scoff at the rest of the Republican candidates as merely being unworthy of high office. What's with the media going after Carson?? Do they not like his voice or something? His voice is kinda weird sounding. Considering his resume I do not think Carson is some scary-thinking bizarre cat, which the media is kinda wanting us to believe! They certainly aren't giving us the picture of Carson as a brilliant surgeon; no way is that the media's portrayal of Ben. oh how i hate pulling out the race card but on this one, i have to. with pres Obama, this was the first time a minority was running, was position to be supported by the whole Dem party. for me, many people have in the back of their mind, we can't attacked on anything, b/c it would appear as an attack on the race. now fast forward 8 yrs, 2 terms of a minority pres, gay congressmen coming out of the closet, women in high political position, a whole new era of equality across the whole spectrum of politics. now with minorities now running for the candidacy for president, now, that person can be question on its policy or credentials to become the next president. in other words, the media is growing up.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) You missed the REPEATEDLY part. not really i understood your post. i am just saying, this wasn't an idea of going out and not be responsible. this was totally a bad incident that kane was the victim .
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 04:04 AM) Also "witness account" including her friend was contrary to her account. Pretty sure she hooked up with one of his friends thinking it was him. disclaimer.... this is my last statement on Kane and his legal trouble. for me, it has come to a conclusion. unless something else happens. but lets say, for this discussion, she was assaulted. she went to the hospital and all that dna and stuff. but all this time she was under the impression it was kane, but it wasn't. so she was wrong. again lets assume it was someone else. she was still victimize wouldn't the DA still pursued this as a case..... regardless if it was not kane??? so was she accosted or not ??? for me, now back to real hockey news btw again good point
