  1. so this love affair for him should be somewhat tone down??? i mean even before last yr, he was medicore at best.
  2. i didn't know you were the board counter???? fyi, i didn't know which was first or not, i didn't even know of the other one whn i made my post.
  3. it isn't that we are in a weak division, but did we help ourself by losing to oak. are we really a contender or by default a contender b/c of the division.
  4. yeah but gil meche is not that special either. imo
  5. long time no see..... how is it going killa.
  6. lets look at his stats, only once did he ever put up numbers that will put him up with the studs, that was last yr. overall his numbers were always a avg pitcher at best.
  7. maybe majew will b/c a rocky briddle next yr for mont. either way, a change of scenes will help both.
  8. i waited and waited before i made this post. is loaiza overrated????
  9. 2 to 3 yrs ago, brandon inge was a top rated cat. since then he has improved alot with each stat department improving as well. here is a young cat who we can get for what??? det is looking in trading him, why not look at what it will cost?
  10. tony, tony, tony. i missed most of this season and half of last season, so when i say that most of the faces here are all new for me. saying that, remember from an old fart, me , when i say this, you are going to come across idiots, asshole and jerks. the only thing you can do is to not to respond to them, ignore them and l am sure others are aware of them as well. i sometimes feel the need to voice my opinion and then i ignore them. i am sure the older posters will advice the same and are doing it as well. my 3 cents.
  11. good point, but i hate to mention this, losing mags numbers is going to hurt.
  12. why??? with the sox addressing several things with this trade, you can play joe b in cf and have him bat 7 or 8 and let him sink or swim. i think he might be ready to show something now.
  13. what gets me is that if det is out of the race, they will not dump salary except for maybe urbina. dave is building something up there, but what is your take on brandon inge the backup catcher for det???
  14. any announcement on who is being sent down???
  15. if the sox loose out in the bidding of getting rj, who else is available that might help out??? i been thinking this over for the last week or so, with hou still undecided about whether they are going to make the playoff or not. i don't know about getting clemens but has anyone thought of Andy Pettitte???
  16. in addressing the need of losing big frank in getting carl, does anyone think that they still might pursue another bat??? if so who?
  17. who are you talking about????
  18. the point of all this trade talk about our prospect is the upper level prospects, which imho may not be seen in the sox uni in the next yr or so, so why not trade them to bring us players who can help now. like this our lower level prospects can develop into something in the next 3 or 4 yrs. where we can again reap the rewards.
  19. earlier last week, a rumor was mention that said the arz biggest need is a catcher and they would like one in return for rj. i have also read somewhere that arz wouldn't mind an everyday 3b. that is why i posted what i posted about chad tracy. another reason why nyy was considered b/c of their cat prospect in the minors but that alone will not be enuf..... the third need is more pitching. those are my 2 cents ...
  20. this kid has been developing power to go with an extraordinary bat speed. i like him last yr and i really don't know why arz is not too crazy on him.
  21. again i been waiting for this kid to surface, however, the arz org really has never given him any chance what-so-ever and still won't. they are looking for a corner guy. shea is hurt and has a sore hammy. if arz insist on crede, then ask for tracy in return, i really am high on this kid.
  22. from chisoxfn: yeah and as i said in the second post of this thread, jr said that he was waiting to see some loyalty shown by the fans to the sox org by coming out to see the team. well they have, the best since 94. now jerry, here is your chance. btw all, if some of the old timer remembers, i have ALWAYS been a jr supporter and backer. i have voice that many times, sooooo jr, do the right thing.
  23. i tried to find the post and couldn't, it even might been in another thread so i will recap somewhat. someone mention that after this yr we will have johnson buerle freddy jon with a opening left. or something like that here is my thought, with the success of this yr, the fa available at some key position, we can easily fill the 5 spot with brad radke(sp), eric milton or someone else. we can build with success and fill in the necessary position real easy. all it is going to take a little sacrifice on out part now. make the damn trade and bring in rj for starters.
  24. i stand corrected, sorry.
