when i am talking about trades, i am talking about them at the time of the deal, not in hindsight. if you noticed i mention that the alomar deal in resigning them was a good move. ref to durham, we got nothing compared to who we gave up arbition or fa, we still could have done better in recieving a draft pick. ref to aboz, singleton has batted 280+ in 2 of the last 3 yrs and harris is part timer at best. durham help the "A" in the playoff that yr. and was on the major roster last yr whereas adkins didn't make it until the end of last yr.

Here is the 3rd time I am making this list for all to see. trades trades. decision Royce Clayton and his 5 mil contract A. Myatte(sp) Lost, I would have had the minor leaguer sox lost money for 3 yrs at least and the cancer in the dug out. Julio raminez Jeff Abbott At the time jeff was on the major league roster, lost the trade D wells M stiro Even out, except that b/c of the rap that kw got, he lost out Signing baines n/a Did he really help? Sox lost money Mike Williams Matt dewitt Sox won the trade, b/c didn’t mike pitch in the majors and matt never made it? a. osanu Gary majic or something Sox won the trade Berry, baldwin Berry and gary majic or something Lost even more b/c he screwed up, laughing stock, sox lost the trade, but i still still think at the time baldwin should have stayed a sox. a. embree d. hassellholf Did embree really do anything for the sox?? Sox won the trade by default. ??? Brook Fordyce Sox lost the trade Signing of jose canseco n/a Sox won by default? Signing howry to a contract extension, multi mil one at that Sox lost money Bill Pulsipher off waivers n/a Sox won Player to be name later perry Sox lost the trade B simmons and r kohlmeir off waivers n/a Never amounted to anything Shaffer and bilowski 2 minors Who cares….. never amounted to anything Kipper Todd Ritchie Sox lost the trade to put it mildly. Almost trade ernstd For chirs singleton and jon garland The sox won by not doing the trade. Willie harris Chris Singleton Sox lost trade Signing Kenny lofton n/a At the time sox lost for now, Damaso Marte For matt guierre Sox won Franklin Francisco and Byeong An howry Sox won E Pacheco s. alomar Sox lost F diaz and r meaux k. lofton So far a win for the sox. But lofton did good in the playoff. J Adkins R durham Sox lost the trade. D'Angelo Jimenez Alex Fernandez and catcher Humberto Quintero Even trade? considering the he was a cancer, sox lost in addition isn’t humberto turning into a nice prospect? Clayton is release on waivers Sox won, should have happen sooner. Resign sandy alomar Sox won not having to give anything up. Koch and cotts Foulke Sox lost trade period. Koch sign an extension for 5.25 mil for 2 yrs Colon i forgot I will still say the sox won this trade even tho the reliever wounded up with 30 something saves for the expos. Sox sign 7 players the only one of importance is Esteban Loaiza Sox won Sign rick white and tom Gordon Sox won on one and lost money on the other Sign a rios Sox lost money Carl Everett Francisco, rupe and webster I never did like this trade, sox lost. R alomar Ring, almonte, savlio Sox won the trade imho. Sullivan Cash I like this trade, sox won. Brian Daubach ??? Sox got him, but he was a waste in mho Daubach was release Cash was lost, who cares Uribe Aron miles At first I thought sox lost, but I was wrong This was semi complete list of transactions until the beginning of 2004. Of the major trades, the sox lost in those trades, in major signing, the sox won the majority of those. Still the major trade is were they hurt the sox the most. The likes of clayton, Ritchie, durham, Baldwin, brooks Fordyce, foulke, Everett were and are the major trades in which sox and kw lost. Colon, alomar, uribe, and lofton are the major trades in which the sox won. I won’t go into the minor trades and signing.

if true, this might be a interesting pickup. however, at what cost?

Chicago lord of trade: Williams has Sox in hunt

you are partial correct, stiro(sp) was the union rep, the sox has a rep in trading their rep's if they are active. however kipper did speak out on kw... -

he did not have a 1.00 era for june, on top of that he only pitched in 5.2 innings, we can go on forever trying to manipulate the stats to prove ourself. the bottom line is the main stat, 3.12 era, whip of 1.58, hitters avg 2.8+ with a slugging percent of over 4.00. -
isn't the rp from col avail as well?

as much as i hate to say this, but some of what jeckle have said is true. we gave up a lot in getting fg. as good as some thinks he is, imo he is not worth giving up this much to get him. the biggest concerns is we traded for a rent a player. (boras) now what i see as positive is we got ourself a bonafide starter to help out, with shwo being hurt and all. i wonder if kw waited too long to pull a trigger which forced him to trade without any leverage?

Blackhawks select Cam Barker with the 3rd pick
LDF replied to CSF's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
i beg to differ, with ref to barker, he is and will be a solid #2-4 dman. this is an excellent pick considering what was available. now the 2 rounder i would agree with you, i would really like to know who had the final decision making in the 2 and 3 round -

this is the last pick of the hawks in the second round and i am outta of here. Jakub Sindel Excellent skater; has a very smooth stride .. slips through opposing defenses due to his mobility and quickness .. agile with a nice first step .. very soft hands; handles the puck flawlessly .. very crafty; has elite-level offensive instincts .. a natural goal scorer thus far at every level who thrives in one-on-one situations .. a strong PP threat .. excellent vision and a crafty playmaker .. has shown to be pretty coachable .. surprised with some good work ethic this season; he leads by example .. there are some setbacks; defensive game has improved, but is a considerable weakness .. skinny frame hasn’t helped; Jakub isn’t very strong on the puck .. was switched from right wing to center and has coped with the change well this year .. a guy who could be an NHL sniper if he significantly strengthens his arms here is a surprise, he has 1 round talent that lasted this late in the second round, a safe pick and maybe a steal for the hawks. very surprise that he is still there at this pick. my take is that the hawks screwed up the top 2 of the 4 pick in the second round imo, i like Roman Voloshenko instead of dave bolland or bryan bickerall (sp) and Adam Pineault, Carl Soderberg instead of the other hawks pick...... but that is my opinion. -

Ryan Garlock is the third pick ... An ankle injury hampered him somewhat as Garlock took his time to get back in form, but has since been magnificent. A fine complementary player, he knows where to go at all times in order to put up points. Although he doesn't have end-to-end skills, Garlock more than compensates with excellent stickhandling moves through traffic and the ability to penetrate lanes with a nose for the net. A player with excellent hockey sense, good vision and offensive instincts, Garlock has an exemplary work ethic to boot. He'll be a win-win pick -

Bryan Bickell is the second pick of the second round for the hawks. ???? i really don't like this pick. cherry picker. 6'3'' lw Has pretty good hands around the net, when he is near the net, which is not as often as we would like .. doesn’t work hard enough and at times a noticeable floater .. possesses a truly wonderful burst of speed .. doesn’t sacrifice his body enough .. like a piece of furniture sometimes; just stands there, especially on the backcheck .. doesn’t get rewarded with a lot of power play duty .. doesn’t have the coach’s confidence and has not been able to earn it .. upside alone should make him a solid second-round pick, but earlier would be a stretch. -

Currently one of the hottest goal scorers in the OHL, Bolland is definitely not a one-trick pony. Although he's not the fastest nor prettiest skater, Bolland is deceptively quick and knows where to go on the ice in order to capitalize offensively. According to our scout in London: "His brains are what set him apart from others, outstanding hockey sense and play anticipation. He can beat a guy one-on-one with his hands and his feet and dig pucks out in the corners. Just a solid all-around player, an excellent penalty killer and in the last month the Knights' top player."
