  6. i agree with these add them and i saw on the photoshop site a dancing bananna
  7. i refrain from saying anything b/c alot of people were bringing up good points. however i was the victim of a drunk driver, and i could easly have mention the lost i went thru. it change my life that night. if you can learn from this, as i am sure that all the posters here are thinking the same then the lesson was well learned. i really can't believe i am going to say this, but clu is right and i would like to add another point you now may see the dangers of drinking and driving. if these people didn't say anything, then they would not have cared about you.this goes to prove that we in some ways look out for each other. like bmr once said, maybe we can get another sox army, this proves that we are capable of iit. no one hates you, if fact to me it showed that a lot of them more concerned for you.

Chicago (AL) Good Play, Mate CHICAGO—Spring training was difficult for Thomas Brice. The world cup of cricket was being played, and Brice couldn’t find a word about it in the Arizona newspapers. “It’s a big event in the world but there was no coverage here,” Brice said. “Nothing in the papers or on television, not even ESPN. But I’d go back to the hotel and get on the Internet.” Brice, a 21-year-old outfielder from Woodville, Australia, has a career that is shaping up nicely. A cricket player until his teens, he took quickly to baseball and eventually decided to try to become a professional. He left his home in the spring of 2001 to attend Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College and showed enough potential for the White Sox to select him in the 24th round of the 2002 draft. He immediately helped Rookie-level Bristol to an Appalachian League title, keeping his batting average at .327 or better all season. In his first full year as a pro, Brice is holding his own at low Class A Kannapolis. After a slow start, he had raised his average to .282 in 280 at-bats, though he had just 19 extra-base hits. “He’s a natural hitter,” farm director Bob Fontaine said. “He’s got that classic lefthanded swing. You always kind of hate to compare players, but the guy all our people talk about is John Olerud.” Not surprisingly, Brice is a good low-ball hitter. He says in that way baseball resembles cricket, in which the batsman’s job is to keep the ball from one-hopping into the wicket. Brice hasn’t hit a home run yet this year, but the White Sox look at his build (6-foot-5, 210 pounds) and believe he could eventually hit 10-20 homers a year. Brice has a plus arm suited for right field. He pitched for Australian junior national teams before a series of arm injuries sidelined him. He had arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder, a stress fracture in his elbow and then broke his wrist but has somehow regained his arm strength. “I was really about to quit,” Brice said. “I thought my baseball career was over.” CHI-LITES • Some in the organization would like to see Japanese righthander Tetsu Yofu, 29, get at least a brief look in September because they say he’ll be lost in the Rule 5 draft if he’s not on the 40-man roster. He was 7-6, 3.42 for Double-A Birmingham. • Second-round pick Ryan Sweeney began his pro career hitting .290 through 31 at-bats with Bristol.

  20. he sounds sooo much like his father when the sox were winning. great move by the mayor. i love it.
  21. I disagree. KW wasn't selling, period. White Flag II wasn't happening this year any more than the Sox were going to fire Jerry Manuel. As bad as it's looked this year, I've never lost faith and I don't think KW did either. Instead, he made some wise moves to strengthen the club. Moving Wright to the pen and bringing up Cotts is just the latest of those wise moves. before you keep describing him as this sage like professor, let deal with the facts. if kw did another firesale, you might as well see the team sold, b/c the fans would really abandon them. the sox was still in contentions and the talent was there, no question about that. getting robbie and everett was a good move. excellen on the robbie part. i am going to be a wait and see on carl part. that was a slick move but not one that would have made kw a genius. when the sox started to win, it was a no brainer not to trade players but to get players who can help us. i still think the best trade that kw did was not making the trades i am sure that would have damage us. in other words getting taken as kw so often have in the past. brining up cotts again was a no brainer, in reallity a given, we had no #5, wright did not light a fire of confidence in him and cotts was the only pitcher that might be mlb ready. so lets say that he made some sound move that was there. if we the posters on the board could see it, then i am sure so could kw. he was doing a right and expected moves.
  22. yeah but when you need someone to come in for a couple of inning, you can't trust botch............. so
  23. welcome aboard............... if you were with the old rival days, we have some of still lingering around. what was your name there. i was LongDistanceFan, you have bmr, you have WU=WinningUgly, to name a few here. oh btw, green means sarcism
  24. with cotts coming up................. which player/players will be next. my thoughts are it will be witht the expansion of the roster in the sept callup, unless someone gets hurt which i hope that will not happen.
