  1. according to what rex said, is another situation that i forgot to mention. but other teams do block the suppose rumor of a trade to pervent the other team from getting better. however maybe kw did owe someone a favor(yanks for the colon deal) to prevent one team from getting better or getting better ourself.
  2. i think that anyone who is on the waiver list can be selected. if the team, who put the player in the waiver, doesn't want him back can reclaim him. however, if they did not want to lose him, then he could have been pulled back. we talked about this before the trade deadline was done.
  3. true, based on what you just posted, i agree and i am guilty of that as well. but i thought regardless of his defense, the best situation is one that you and i mention. his "d" or lack off is moot.
  4. there is nothing wrong to see if you can catch lightning in a bottle again. nothing venture, nothing gain.
  5. can i make a recommendation, lets close this down, and move it?
  6. i could have sworn that spiff had something here................... .......... wow i may be seeing things here.
  7. what spiff has to says pretty much tops to what is happening.
  8. f*** corn ho, he starts s*** like that all the time.
  9. i would say that his defense would be acceptable to me, if he can start hit like he was suppose to.

One of Petty's drivers, Christian Fittipaldi, will drive a white Dodge with blue pinstripes and the Yankees' logo at the NASCAR Winston Cup race Aug. 10 at Watkins Glen, N.Y. "I'm just a good old Southern boy. But when you're talking about the Yankees, those are people you want to associate with," Petty, 63, told The Times

    What's best?

ok i have read all responses on the board. in ref to what is said, i would listen to cerb. by what he said, he know his stuff. in ref to speed, you need to figure out the city and where the central office is going to be. both dsl come from the telephone companies. next is to check the company you are getting the product from. some cable companies are now shutting down some of its ports. this is where you can d/l media from, from any of the sites that is out there, that is, if you do alot of d/l'ing. i do. i have had dsl and cable. i will stick with dsl everytime our. i live within 1/2 mile from the CO. my speed is good to very good here. but the problem is where i live i am very limited on d/l'ing and if you remember, i couldn't get connected to soxtalk, blackhawks, and bulls4ever sites for a very long time. what i did was hooked up a dns server from school (t1) and now i can get to my sports site and i can still d/l. but where i live i am very limited, my neighbor has cable and the prices between the 2, my is cheaper by $10 a month and his dl speed is horrible. i would like to see how the new msn dsl is doing? the best was direct tv dsl, too bad they went out of business on the dsl.

  22. :fthecubs i usually don't do polls, but this was too good to pass up, this should tell what my opinion is.
  23. When you ask about players being on the "40 man roster" and the big league teams "25 man roster" are you asking about the same thing? I always thought the 40 man roster was those players that the team protected, and included the actual team roster and 15 minor leaguers we didn't want to lose. The 25 man roster was the group playing for the big league team. Please explain why Cotts is not on the 40 man roster already? There must be a rule that I am not aware of and I am confuced about the questions concerning adding someone to the 40 man roster. Thanks! Players don't have to be protected on the 40-man roster for 3 years (college draftee) or 4 years (HS draftee). Once you put them on the 40-man roster, then their MLB service time clock starts ticking which means arbitration and free agency come sooner. So it is wise to not put a player on the 40-man roster before you have to protect him unless you feel he is ready to make a significant contribution in the Majors and is ready to stay. If you feel he might be a year away, you wait. For example, Matt Ginter was called up in 2000 instead of them letting him play in the Olympics. That started his service time clock and options. He has since been sent back to the Minors in 2001, 2002 and 2003, so he will be o ut of options next year, presenting the Sox with a lack of options. He either will have to make the Major League team next season out of spring training, be traded or placed on waiver to be sent back to AAA. If the Sox woudl have been a little more judicious with his callup (how much of a contribution did he really make in 2000?), they would still have one option on him next year, giving them roster flexibility. Once a player gets to the point where he has to be protected, then he must be put on the 40-man roster by a certain date in the fall (Octoberish) or risk being lost in the Rule V draft. There is more, but that is the long and short of it. damn, another great info that you were able to pass down to us, esp from an angle i would never have looked at.
  24. haven't we had more success with the east coast teams?
  25. that is a harsh way to look at it.............. it may be true and i hope it doesn't happen.
