i been hearing that this russian center who is 7'5 + 300 lbs and still growing is dropping in the draft. should we draft him if he is still there??????????????? here is a reason why he is dropping. Podkolzine draft status likely unaffected By Chad Ford ESPN Insider Pavel Podkolzine, an 18-year-old, 7-foot-5, 303 pound candidate for the 2003 NBA draft from Siberia, wowed NBA teams in a private workout in Chicago two weeks ago. However, a routine physical given by the league at the Chicago pre-draft camp raised the issue of a possible pituitary disorder for Podkolzine. For the past week, Podkolzine has been talking to doctors, taking blood tests and trying to get a handle on what's going on, while at the same time, flying from NBA city to city for individual workouts. Podkolzine finally received a definitive diagnosis on Tuesday. Podkolzine's agent, Justin Zanik, faxed a letter to all 29 NBA teams Tuesday night detailing Podkolzine's situation. The letter, which was written by pituitary specialist Dr. Hrayr K. Shahinian, Director of the Skull Base Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, claims that Podkolzine suffers from acromegaly (a growth hormone secreting pituitary adenoma). In laymen's terms, Podkolzine's pituitary gland secretes an unusually high amount of a growth hormone, which partly explains his enormous stature. According to the letter, with minor endoscopic surgery the issue can be resolved with no long-term consequences to Podkolzine's health or NBA career. The procedure lasts about two hours and has a hospital stay of 24 to 48 hours. If all goes well, Podkolzine could be back on the court shooting and running in 10 to 14 days. "I'm confident," Shahinian wrote, "that Pavel will realize his potential both personally and professionally." ESPN.com talked to the general managers of two NBA teams in the lottery who claimed that they learned of the general diagnosis last Thursday and their doctors had examined the evidence. Both GMs felt that the issue wouldn't stop them from taking Podkolzine with their pick. Chad Ford is a senior writer for ESPN Insider. Watch for his breakdown on Podkolzine's options on ESPN Insider on Wednesday.

can he plays as a cf'er?

the bulls should trade JC to seattle for some cap room and their 2 first round draft picks. keep fizer, no-one is going to want him for a trade. keep williams, and look at trying to create some room for center help. erob?????????? thing is, there has been hardly any info on the salary cap and which teams is under that is simple reading. after the 4 pick, the talent to fill our needs drops.

you are right, except i would like to counter by pointing out how well sfo turn out under his ownership

All Fans Bring CORK To Wrigley for the Sox/Cubs

oh yeah, i was involve in several, while i will add that i never started them. (that is the truth) the ones i got into was coming to the defense of some sox fan who was being terrorize by some sCrubs punks. ahhh the good old days i should add that this was in the '70's in the old park that was a great era. sCrubs fan made a point of coming over to start s*** and more often than not, was taken to the north side after a brief stay in the emergency room. -
Can I get back to you on this next June so should we resign him and at what cost? We have a one year team option for 04 at $3.5mil. As for the whole fluke things, all of the trolls were first saying how awful he was, then he pitched awesome in April, they were saying wait til May. May he pitches awesome they say wait til June. June he is still pitching well now they are saying wait til after the all star break. I think Loz may have turned the corner. It was well documented the problems he had in Toronto. He became a two pitch pitcher too easily, and he didn't work hard enough between starts. Once he was given his wake up call, unlike some who have been tagged as lazy, he has gone out of his way to improve and make a good impression. you may have a point, i was not one who criticize his pickup. if i remember correctly, i gave way to others opinion as i did with r. white. now i am sold for him this season. i just can't help but wonder if he is a 1 yr wonder. ref to his contract, i didn't know about the option. we got a steall here, that is if he improve. does this mean that jr and company has an excuse not to resign colon?

for a couple of AA or AAA prospect that is not seen on the 30 men prospect list, then he would be a great pickup for some trades.

great point and very true

I say they don't even make it to jail. Real smart to go into HIS house and pull s***. Sox fans will be greatly out numbered. My guess is that an idiot that tosses something at Sosa will end up in the hospital before being booked... now if i was some 15 to 20 yrs younger, that might entice me. not throwing the cork, well maybe, but being able to express myself with some of their diehearts. hospital for me, i doubt it. -
has anyone been following or going to follow the draft.
-
far side by but really i never considered far side comic in a sense that it is a 1 frame cartoon and others are more of a series.

been extremely busy, but i been reading this site, more often not have a chance to post as much as i would like. with the way the sox been playing, they hardly given me a reason to post. -
can we trade him? i wonder who will need a 2b now
-
i have to add that i think clee is better than juan. (man i can't beleive i am writing nice about him.)
-
ahhh but the sox didn't sign some major players who were drafted in the 2-5 rounders in the past. i hope that will change now.
-
i think that it is jm way of dealing with it. if the ump has it against the sox, the best way to disfuse it is the way that jm did it
