Good we already got at least a split. Keep it going tomorrow guys. Their doing great lately.

As a supporter of Garland he has done good on his later starts, but again gets hit with the big inning crap. Improvement on every start is something he should look for and has been doing in some.

Official Get Jermaine Dye to start the ALL Star game Thread
Whitewashed in '05 replied to rangercal's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Does it matter if you put a legit email add in? -
I played for 2 years. All in the OF. I wasn't a bad defender since I had decent speed and was fundamentally sound. I couldn't hit worth a s*** though. I probably led my team in walks and also K's since I never protected with a full count. Even though I sucked I wish I could have played longer just for fun.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) The Brats at the park own. The food at the cell is so much better to that in Anaheim. I agree. I think I had an italian sausage there and finished it in one bite (no not really.) It was really small.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

HELL YES!!! GREAT START BY COUNT AND THE SOX!!! HOPEFULLY PODS, URIBE, AND ANDERSON START HEATING UP. GREAT WIN!! -
Luckily we still have a good record, but we won't keep it and we won't reclaim first place if some of our players keep playing like s***. Anderson looks like he might be on to something and Uribe has looked slightly better with the same results. Garcia and Garland have been pretty bad. Montero has been getting the job done his past few outings, but we still need at least one arm in that pen. Hopefully each of the players I have mentioned start playing A LOT better and we get some bullpen help because if they don't improve the playoffs aren't guarenteed and a repeat is totally out of the question.

GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS

Hey guys I missed the HBP to Hafner then the crap with Martinez. What happened? -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) √ Greg Walker √ Juan Uribe √ Joe Crede √ Hawk/DJ and Farmer/Singleton You're about 8% through the organization now, keep up the good work! Just replace everyone in the organization. Shoota should tell JR to sell the team and then tell the new owner to fire EVERYONE. Including all the vendors and janitors.

GAME THREAD 6-11-06 SOX vs INDIANS
Whitewashed in '05 replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2006 Season in Review
What a ninth. Great effort and hopefully they keep that same mentality when their down the rest of the way. Damnit Tracey!! Actually this loss should be blamed more on f***ing Garcia. Oh well, I hope they all realize they can come back anytime. I really hope Anderson gets on a roll. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) I backed Garland....now Jon, go make me and TRU and Murcie proud and start kicking ass again (1 game at a time). You can add me to those names. He really needs to start pitching better... a lot better.

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) It's a hard thing to say after his amazing plays to record the last two outs of the World Series, but he needs to be benched. The reason he's still playing is because of his defense, and when he makes dumb plays like he did tonight, his value lessens. I'm comfortable in betting that he has peaked as a hitter and will never have a Crede-like turnaround where he will hit much better than he is now. So since he can't hit and never will, and Cintron can, Uribe must lose his starting position to Cintron. I shouldn't be shocked after your post on Crede, but wow...

Its still wayy too early, but if Dye keeps it up he MIGHT have a shot. As far as Thome, I don't think he does even with is monster numbers. Look at Ortiz last year, his numbers were sick and was edged out because he is a DH.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) Anderson showed tonight why defense is so important in CF. He can't continue to be an automatic out, however. But please don't send him down unless you have a guy who can play CF well. The only way I see that is through a trade. I couldn't believe how far he went for that catch, crash into the wall and still make a strong throw. That play was incredible. WOW!

Has anyone "converted" someone to being a SOX fan recently?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to Hangar18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My cousin has been a Yankee fan ever since I can remember and I tried to convert him, but it didn't work. I did successfully make the sox his 2nd team though. -
QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Please explain why I'm an idiot and if you believe Crede is good at making that type of play. The ball bounced out of Crede's glove. I never stated this year that I want Crede replaced, so your post is irrelevant. Well when you're saying that he's getting way too much credit at his position it makes my post relevant. Who the hell else do you want out there? It has been said already, the throw wasn't wise, but he just tried to do too much. From a guy who plays GG defense in a game we ended up winning anyway, you shouldn't complain. EDIT: Sorry not the response to my post, but its still the truth.

QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) That's part of what frustrates me too. With the way you guys were playing before we came in here, we could have gone up at least 3 games had we won the games we had a chance to win. With the way you guys were playing you could get swept. If you're gonna look at it one way make sure you don't forget the other.
-
QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Maybe I wasn't clear in my first post: Yes I'm upset at Crede for his lack of ability, but this thread was intended to be more of a criticism of announcers who try to patronize viewers instead of calling a play on its own. Like his dropped foul popup against Boston last year? CLUTCH. Crede's defense is overvalued and does not deserve the level of respect he receives from Sox fans and announcers. Okay you can just stop right there. Don't make yourself look like an idiot.

Sean Tracey Promoted; Cliff Politte to the DL

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) He hasn't pitched as well as last year. He has pitched a lot more. He has Marte's role. Look at Marte last April and May, and you will see numbers that were better than Neal's. Neal's strikeout rate is way down, and he's already allowed 4 times as many homers as he did all year. He hasn't been terrible, but he hasn't been very sharp. As I have stated numerous times, it would be crazy to think he could duplicate last year's numbers. Well his 2nd half last year was unmatchable no matter if it was someone with more experience, so expecting the same is expecting too much. I am comfortable with him in the pen though knowing he is capable of dominating.
