QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) The amazing Knicks with their new superstar just lost to the Cavaliers. As we've said, they are gonna suck on defense. Melo, Amare and Billups will get theirs, but they are all below-average defenders.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) Soapy is going to be, what, 57 next season? He'll be 34. And if he can get the job done, why not? He was crucial last year on the penalty kill. There is a reason the Hawks went from 5th in the league in penalty kill last year to 26th this year. We miss him more than most think.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 01:20 PM) Rose is truly amazing. And only 22. Best line from last night. The Big 3 are more accurately the Big 2 and 1/18th.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 12:33 PM) Nick Boynton was put on waivers; according to the Score, if he clears, the Hawks will be looking for a penalty killing defenseman Sopel was so important to this team. Too bad his salary was too high. But he will be a free agent after this year and I am fairly certain he will be back with the Hawks. Said as much when he was traded last year.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) That would be fantastic. I don't think he is gonna want to lose all that money. He has already won a championship, and apparently does seem all that interested in another won. He wants that money first and foremost. Idiot. What a addition he would be though.

Jake Peavy Thread
It's all well and good Jake is coming back sooner than expected. But until I know that he can throw 93 MPH with his normal accuracy and hit spots with the breaking balls and change, I won't be expected anything but a average year. He is still coming off major major surgery, so I am still not convinced his entire repertoire will be back in force.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) What would it take for you to believe the Bulls could take a playoff series against Miami? A blowout win in the final regular season match up? Homecourt is clearly the key to me. The Bulls are a much different team when feeding off the United Center crowd. One thing that is potentially nice is that Miami even though it's a homecourt, they aren't nearly as passionate as Bulls, Celtic, Magic, etc. fans.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) f*** yea. Deng stuck it up the Heat's ass in the 2nd half. 99, how do you feel about the Bulls matching up with the Heat in the playoffs after tonight? It will be a hell of series. But homecourt could be tough to overcome.

Bosh is having one of the worst shooting nights in NBA history. That is hilarious to me. He's a POWER FORWARD.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Bulls apparently offered Brewer + three picks for Mayo. Got turned down. And rightfully so. Guys like Brewer can be signed in any free agent class and all three picks were late first-round picks unless the Charlotte pick was part of it.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) How long before they say the rims are rigged. Wade is without a doubt the most annoying NBA player. Whines every play. Act like he broke a leg every time he falls. I love James though even as a Bulls fan.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) Reasonable people can disagree on whether you want Mayo or Asik, but some people suggested that Asik had no value and that he wasnt traded because no one wanted him. That just simply isnt true. Definitely agree. And how does a post player shoot 1 of 14 from the field. Bosh is a tool. And legitimately looks like a Raptor.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Asik proving why hes worth more than lee tonight He has had a huge impact no doubt 2day. Wade and James haven't been able to drive the paint with him in the game, thus they are taking lower percentage shots and missing. But I will take Mayo over Asik anyday. Not denying he has had a great game, but Mayo is still the more valuable player.

I actually think the Bulls match up best with the Celtics now. The Heat have two guys better than any Bulls player whereas against the Celtics, we have the best player. LeBron just scares me. When he wants something, he gets it. And now he actually has talent around him.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) The Bulls better be banking on a Parker or Rip buyout. Celtics move...confuses me. Nets hit a homerun by clusterf***ing the Knicks and getting the better player for cheaper. Grizz did good with Battier. Should have traded Mayo for something. Knicks made a lateral move for this year. We'll have to see how they fill the holes now. Denver did good. Denver did amazing. They were gonna lose this guy for nothing at the end of the year and got first-round draft picks and three above-average starters. Amazing.

If the Bulls didn't have their worst defensive game of the year yesterday, everyone would be cool with standing pat.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) You do realize that Keith Bogans has shot as well as Mayo this year, right? And Mayo wants the ball in his hands and thinks he's a much better player than he is... he'd carry the rock vs giving it to our MVP candidate. Also, Omer has some pretty awesome upside and is worth more than Mayo, in my opinion. What happens if one of our bigs goes down again? Size is king in the NBA. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 12:46 PM) Completely agree with Steve here, Omer has just as much upside as Mayo. The guy is young, cheap, and already a damn good defender on a defensive oriented team. The problem with Asik is that he is a 12-15 minute player when the team is healthy. Asik's upside is nowhere near that of Mayo. There is a reason Asik was thought of as a mid first-round pick and drafted in the second round while Mayo was the THIRD pick in the draft two and a half years ago. Asik can become what a 12 points/12 rebound guy with good defense? And how exactly does he ever become that here? He won't get the playing time. So he really cannot reach his potential here. In two years, it will be either Taj or Omer anyway, so why not make that decision now and get a potential stud offensive player who has the tools to be a good defensive player. We have a need for a 2-guard, we don't for a starting center or power forward. And I can't believe the overvaluing of Asik and the undervaluing of Mayo. The talent levels between the two are incomparable.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 11:20 AM) As long as you can hold onto one of them so you have a bench left to play against the Heat and Magic. Oh yeah no doubt. I give up one Omer easily over Taj and picks for Mayo. I would even include that Charlotte pick because apparently the Bulls don't get to pick when they want, the pick transitions to the Bulls the first year the pick is outside the restriction area.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) Thanks Omer or Taj for your time and good luck. I'll drive em to Memphis Yeah seriously. Taj/Omer are really good players, but both have ceilings of solid starters. We already have Noah making Aski unlikely ever to start full-time. We have Boozer for the next few years making Taj unlikely ever to start full-time. Mayo was the THIRD pick in a loaded draft and has the ceiling of an All-Star. I have a hard time believing the Bulls wouldn't pull the trigger on that move.

Will someone explain to me how ESPN's boxscores get so f***ed up during games? How is Rose a -3 in a tied game? How are everyone on the Bulls even and not Rose? How has Boozer played less minutes on according to the box, but clearly been on the court the entire time? I have always wondered about this.
