  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) These are the situations I hope Alexei's not bunting. Pods SHOULD be able to get a good jump against a power throwing reliever. Suzuki has got a great arm, though. Let's just hope for the wild pitch.
  2. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 09:16 PM) Pods reminding us that he indeed is capable of base on balls. Hopefully, he can remind us he is indeed capable of stealing bases, as well.
  3. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 09:16 PM) Not that I think we will, but if we seriously fell out of contention, I bet Kenny could rape a contending teams farm system if he offered MT. He'd be the most coveted reliever in the market, followed by Dotel, probably.
  4. Come on Scotty, take the leadoff walk.
  5. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) Is Matt the best left-handed reliever in baseball? I'd like people to name one better.
  6. Thornton is so amazing, basically a one-pitch pitcher and he dominates.
  7. Nice job Gavin, way to bow your neck or whatever the hell Hawk says.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 08:20 PM) AJP or Wise is going to tie this game. And Bingo was his nam-o.
  9. Stone: "One problem with Cunningham is that he has a fairly long swing" Yep, sounds like he spent the early part of his minor league career with the White Sox.
  10. Two future Sox regulars, or so i thought, in Sweeney and Cunningham.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:33 PM) Wow, Matt Holliday robbed us. Granted, those plays are quite easy for athletic OFs because of the short fence.

Ouch. Kanny roughs up a Mizzou guy and someone I interviewed once, Rick Zagone. Had great numbers going into today's start.
  13. Holy crap, didn't even realize that was Aaron Cunningham, weird.
  14. Atta boy Alexei. With the way the RF lobbed the ball into second, Pods could have scored as he was motoring going by third, but JD will get him in.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:24 PM) Good job by Pods...hit and run time, as Cahill is a DP waiting to happen. If he can throw a strike, haha.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) He makes some great plays, but he's no Gold Glover. Yeah, in one moment he can mesmerize you, but the next makes a simple play look tough or has a mental error.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:20 PM) Cahill's been very good this year. 2 runs or less in 8 of 10 starts. However, he has been bad on the road. 5.79 ERA, 18.2 inn, 24 hits and a 15/3 BB/K ratio. Yes, that is BB/K (not the other way around, haha, that's a horrible ratio). I am confident in some runs tonight.
  18. Grow a pair Gavin. Whenever someone makes a mistake, he always gives up runs. I don't even care that those were earned runs, but any mistake, Gavin cripples. Luckily, we should hit Cahill fairly well tonight.

QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) Yeah Gordon just isn't ready for the bigs yet... Dude, he just struck out, he sucks. What a waste.
  20. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) Watching Comcast Sports Night live, tarp is off and they are saying the game will be played. Looks like there is a window between 7 - 9:15 I'll take a big inning in the first and then Gavin mowing them down.

That Beckham guy is pretty good. I love seeing the bunt single because now defenses can't play back against him, which will help when he pulls liners and hard hit grounders down the line. Man, he is the complete package.
  22. Yeah, it is really nice. I saw the Yankees play and Sox play there this year and park is real nice. It's a great place to watch baseball, great parking (which is pretty cheap) all around and easy access to the stadium from the expressway.
  23. Dye with his power numbers were huge and with Richard, his performances might have saved our season. With Buehrle, you know you are going to get good starts, but Richard was the wild card.
