  1. Am I the only one who thinks Q hasn't been super-duper this year? I know he has been awesome with the homers, but he is hitting .167 with 0 HRs and 2 RBIs with runner's in scoring position. He needs to improve that to be a god to me.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 02:41 PM) I'm sure Boston fans asked that in 2006 when they kicked our ass in Fenway. 2008 Tampa had the magic we had in 2005. But I guess their magic ended four games too early.
  3. Sox starting to hit the ball hard and not trying to hit homers and look at the results.
  4. Lilli way to go. He has shown some good things. He has taken a few walks recently and is hitting the ball well now.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) Wow, a huge break there. You could see that coming a mile away. Usually, one of our pitchers does that. Glad to see it the other way around. We have three really good fielding pitchers in Colon (not alot of range, but he makes the plays), Buehrle and Danks and then Floyd and Count suck.
  6. Id really like Thome to get going. JD/Paulie/CQ are hitting well. But Jim has sucked and isn't even walking. If he doesn't start hitting next week, you gotta move him down in the order.
  7. Rose thrives under the pressure. Love it! If he plays with this killer instinct all the time, he will be in Chris Paul's league.
  8. Hell of a first half from the Bulls. Wow. They gotta come strong in the second half, but I love the energy. Joakim is playing out of his mind and Rose is getting to the hoop at will.
  9. We would have more innings to work with (maybe like 12-13) if Marquez didn't get bombed. The fact is, we are never gonna get a great sample sized of him if he can't get past two innings. Dude blows.
  10. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) You mean in all of the 5.1 innings he's pitched so far this season? Well, you are not going to pitch many innings if you get pounded every time out. I mean teams are hitting close to .500 off him already. That is ridiculously bad, and he has walked a batter an inning.
  11. I think the Sox will take with their first pick a college reliever. There is clearly a lack of bullpen arms in the system and ML team minus our current top 4. Wouldn't be surprised if they drafted a college closer and he was up in September in middle relief. The other 2 picks will probably be spent on pitching, as it should. The system is solid position-player wise, but there is a glaring weakness of ML-ready arms. Poreda is the only one close.
  12. Should be some interesting pitching tonight. 2 guys looking to make the ML roster soon that have been pretty disappointing in McCulloch and Marquez. And two guys who are a little too old for their leagues that are pretty solid pitchers in Leesman and Shirek. I expect both of those guys to move up a level by midseason, Shirek to AA and Leesman to High-A.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) Beckham at it already. Double, run. 3-0 B'ham. E6 on Beckham. Routine play. Bobbled. Third error in his 6th game. Second base is becoming more and more realistic for him, and we really could use an impact bat in the lineup. If Getz starts off slowly when he comes back from injury, Beck may get the call pretty soon.
  14. ^^ So funny. haha.
  15. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Well, at least it's still fairly early, and we will be seeing the DET pen. Assuming no 5-pitch inning, this will be Gallarag's last inning most likely.
  16. So clutch. Man this team has been bad getting the simple sac fly.
  17. I am pretty sure Restovich would the first OF called up from Charlotte. Has major league experience and is the best we got in the minors (who's ready), which is sad.
  18. QUOTE (tommy @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) Alexei K's. Let's hope pen can deliver. 14 hits already. We really need Thornton to go two today.
  19. Miner is garbage, we better rake. And Gavin tends to pitch against Detroit, especially in that park because of his propensity to give up flyballs, they don't hurt him as much as at home.
  20. We have four terrific bullpen arms, but three others who are duds.
  21. Fields is really becoming a complete hitter. Opposite way, lowered his Ks. Great job.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) Harrison Barnes (#1 SF on Scout, Rivals) has reportedly narrowed his list to four: Kansas, Duke, North Carolina and Iowa State. Just go to Iowa State. Be where your family is and your comfortable.
  23. YeS!!! Come on Fields, big hit here. Give mark a 2-run league.
