  1. Time for the Banderson hit.
  2. Who is pitching for the Sox? that is not Mark Buehrle.
  3. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) Ace versus Ace... I love it! If aces are supposed to have 4.6+ ERA.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) I sat next to some folks from Michigan last night and they were rating Magglio Ordonez higher than Jermaine Dye. I knew it was ludicrous but I didn’t realize just how crazy until I looked at these numbers this morning. Not only is he out playing Maggs by a good margin but the $11 million difference in salary equates to a stud starting pitcher. Hindsight is 20-20 but you have to say Thank You Scott Boras! And a salute to KW for picking up JD, I can’t think of another free agent signing that so perfectly met a teams needs, both on the field and financially. Quite frankly, JD has been one of the best FA signings in White Sox history.
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 09:10 AM) I like Fields and all, but Sweeney is really exciting me at this point. It's an odd scenario. Do you want a guy in LF next year that will hit .260ish with lots of k's/walks, 20+ homers, 15 SBs, big-time RBI potential, but possibly a few errors in left or a guy who will hit .300, walk little, strike out little, play great D, steal 10 bases and have 10-14 HRs? It's an interesting decision that will have to be made.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) The list should be released pretty soon. Maybe I can talk Jason into revealing the list on the next Soxtalk podcast and getting it up soon. BTW, the 4 of us stood differently on Boone. I was probably the highest on him of anybody. We should have just stopped at 5, then we would not have this contreversy.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) Well not that it seems he has officially turned the corner can anyone post an updated scouting report on Wes with the kind of stuff he has and possible ceiling in the majors. Wes has a solid four pitch aresenal: fastball, slider, curve and change-up. Fastball is in the low 90's, but he can touch 95. Has a hard slider. A good change and curve. Fields his position well and is a very good athelte. Ceiling is a #2 pitcher, but that is if everything went right, but more likely he is a 4/5. His stuff is much better than his strikeout results would show, but as long as his ERA remains below 3.00, I'll take it. Very much like Tyler Lumsden where you would expect better strikeouts and less hits, but Tyler has a better fastball and slider.
  8. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:10 AM) I've never seen him play but I've followed his progress a bit the past 2 seasons. And, he seems to me to be a pretty legit catcher. I'm asking those of you that have seen him or follow him closer if he could be ready to be the Sox backup next year ? Or what would he need to do to become the Sox backup ? He is ready. He is a better option than Alomar, but Alomar has more experience in calling games for big league pitchers. They would like Stewart to be more familiar with the guys he is calling, so they will wait till next season to bring him up. He is the perfect compliment to A.J. being righty even though statistically he hits righties better. He is a great defensive catcher who throws well and handles a pitching staff well. There is no doubt in my mind that defensively he is a top major league catcher and he can provide enough offense as a back-up catcher to be an above-average back-up catcher. He will be on the team next year, no doubt.
  9. MO u really want Kong.
  10. Thank god, Bernie was the only Yankee OF that wasn't going to catch that.
  11. Game over on 2 strikes.
  12. I guess everyone was right about Pods being a bench player (damn u Dayn Perry)
  13. Great at-bat Pods, swung at ball 3 and maybe horrible swings on all pitches he swung at.
  14. QUOTE(soxyess @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) pods sucks yes, this is very true. Just don't swing Pods and if u do, foul it off.
  15. PLease POds, no double plays. I have never seen such a fast guy ground into so many DPs.
  16. I actually like Iguchi facing MO more than anyone not named Kong.
  17. NO steals OZZIE.
  18. BA did the best thing possible, not swing and get hit.
  19. Man, PK could have scored, we had three oppos with bases loaded to score ONE and we are likely gonna lose by one. WOW.
  20. 2-2, just fight off pitches Alex, that's all we can ask.
  21. Cintron just took a close ball 1.
  22. Is Cintron gonna swing?
  23. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) The exact opposite of me. Someone who is thought provoking, not overly pessismistic (not a shout a Fathom--b/c I consider him a good poster,) and will argue to a certain extent. you have to defend your points and opinion, but only a good manner. If you and that person disagree, then just say "agree to disagree." A good poster will defend their opinions with fact.
